SECRET SATAN - a Panopticon mini-exchange!
credit to the lovely G (@chancedarling & @unathorn) for the idea!
Everyone has to sleep. Or doze off, take a quick nap. Let their guard down somehow, with closed eyes and a switched-off mind. It's what you wake up to, that perhaps makes you wonder how you can ever sleep again.
A long strip of thin paper like a ribbon, is perched beside you, as if waiting. Some might recognize it as an old sort of teletype tape, mostly now seen in museums or history books about World Wars. But this one has your name on it, and then the words 'HERE IS A SECRET'. The rest of the sentence is a secret indeed, divulged without actual names, describing some past moment or thought from the outside world.
This ribbon of paper holds someone's secret. Who out there is holding your secret?
SCHEDULE
December 16 - 21: please send the main an ask, detailing a secret belonging to your character! The secret can be an incident, a thought/decision. It can be silly or serious. It can seem innocuous or be major. The only requirement is that it's a secret your character doesn't want to share with others.
December 24: The secrets are jumbled and distributed to another character! All characters participating will receive a secret from a 'mystery' character, that they'll need to uncover.
December - mid-January: the Mods encourage everyone participating to at least begin a thread pertaining to the secret discovery, with the 'mystery' character!
OOC RULES
Participation is optional! Non-participating characters can be aware, but no secret-trading for them.
Muns can choose one or two of their characters to participate!
The guessing game is for the characters to deduct, not the muns. Therefore, Muns will know the character the secret belongs to.
Secrets must have some sort of impact. Whether it's embarrassment, fear, a tainted reputation, shame, denial, etc - there has to be a reason why it's a secret: your character perceives it as a dastardly thing. Whether others agree, is part of the fun.
