Leaving my heart in Gauteng; taking everything else of to Cape Town for a much needed break. *** This thing called parenthood has such potential for skyrocketing your personal growth. You want to be a better person, a better example and the ideal version of yourself because you understand what it means for them. And if growth happens outside our comfort zone, take note that nothing destroys your comfort zone quite like a kid or two: from little to no sleep, doing extensive research and making tough as well as everyday decisions for these new souls, to selflessly taking second place as often as your sanity allows. All of this while being intensely aware that with you lies the first responsibility for these souls remaining whole and strong within themselves despite what the world (yourself included) may bring, and at the same time, that you can only ever do so much. It's insanely hard and nothing can ever prepare you quite enough.
