Gary Numan last night at @parkwestchicago...such a great show. Hard to believe I've been listening to him for 40 years, and he's still creating great new music. First time I heard him was at a dance for a camp I went to in the summer of 1980. The big songs of the summer that year were Cars and Funkytown. All the girls were obsessed with Funkytown, and I was acting like an android to Cars...not to mention that there was a boy (wish I could remember his name) that was totally into new wave, that said this was what the future sounded like. It’s gotten to the point where I think letting my guard down around you could be rewarding and free of scrutiny. You’re perfect. Day 11 #TourDeForty Chicago, IL The look on our faces says all I need to say. We overcame three missing band members, a mixing board malfunction and a Chicago style hot dog induced food coma to bask in the love of friendship and music for two hours. The extremely talented @angelaalejandro (follow her for great music photos) was able to capture it with her lens. Thanks also to @bryanjdawley for learning all those songs on less than a days notice and to the folks @parkwestchicago for pouring their heart and souls into the evening.
