the fawleys weren’t always wealthy , but they carved their way into high society. because contrary to popular belief, there is no cheque attached to your blood status. and , despite their ever - expanding bank vaults -- well , that’s the problem. see , while they have money , and the ability to say they are of the sacred twenty - eight , the problem is that they’re nouveau riche. it’s a sore spot for her parents , but , atlas doesn’t concern herself with it too much. 

atlas makes a point to focus on the big picture , rather than the details. it’s like her family taught her: ambition is something to be envied. ever since her first year , atlas knew she wanted to be an auror ( which , if you didn’t know , was an unpopular choice for an heir to a fortune ). while her parents had raised her to be a paragon slytherin ( thoughtful , and sharp , and ambitious ), they never thought that her ambition would be in disagreement with them. but , because she loves her family , atlas compromises. upon her graduation , she takes the position in the investigation unit. as a researcher.

it’s only after another fight with her parents ( of which there have been an alarmingly large increase in the last handful of years ) that drives atlas to the brink. without a second to clear her muddled thoughts , she sends a letter off to her supervisor. atlas is shocked to wake up to a thick package of papers to sign and along with the notice that her field training begins within the next week. 

the unexpected promotion ( sort of ) is so exciting she takes herself out for drink. one thing leads to another and she ends up at this guy’s -- american , cute butt , really hot -- place. imagine her surprise when less than four hours after sneaking out of his bed , he’s standing directly across from her in the lobby of the ministry of friggin’ magic. IMAGINE HER SURPRISE ! WHEN LESS THAN FOUR HOURS AFTER SNEAKING OUT OF HIS BED , HE’S THE AUROR IN CHARGE OF ‘ SHOWING YOU THE ROPES ‘ !

atlas has all the traits of a slytherin. atlas took her CUNNING and AMBITION and never let go. her house served her well and she is PROUD of being a slytherin.

while it’s not too obvious , because people don’t usually think good - looking people are capable of it , atlas’ got a MISCHIEVOUS side for sure. she likes cracking jokes and having a good laugh.

sometimes she wishes she could take it a step further , though , and throw caution to the wind. there’s a REBELLION deep in her bones , but she’s not even sure where it’s leading her.

Amara is the middle child of the lestrange family. her parents wanted a boy to carry on the name, but alas. they made it very clear to her growing up that she was the least favored. she had to work twice as hard for half the praise. 

her childhood was very confusing. she was the subject of public envy and praise for simply being a lestrange, but was treated like a pariah in her house. She was regarded like royalty by everyone but her parents which did a number on her opinion of herself. 

after years of attempting to work her way into their good graces, going above and beyond to impress them, something in her flipped like a switch. she went from being the perfect poised daughter to speaking out of turn, acting out for attention, and taking it upon herself to be as cruel to others as her parents had been to her, and she quickly found that she liked it 

cruel people had power and powerful people were cruel. and as someone feeling entirely too powerless in the world, she was going to fake it until she made it. even though insecurity constantly gnawed at her, she perfected the mask that she projected to the world, cold and calculating and unyielding and mean. 

amara is a bitch frankly because she can be. she doesn’t have responsibilities to maintain or people she needs to impress. she’s already at the top of the food chain. and it quickly became clear to her that if you hurt people first, they couldn’t hurt you.

                   marina moschen, 22, trans woman, she/her. ⋆ ◦ ° * ✧⋆ merlin ! that’s ADELINA TORRES over there ! did you know they’re a DUELLER now ? they look ASTUTE , but don’t forget that they can be HARD-HEADED. see , i always thought of ‘ the taste of metal in your mouth and carmine lipstick on your teeth & the blazing, wet eyes that comes with it. the scratch of a record from too-eager dancing on your creaking bedroom floor ; the dedication that comes with setting rules and surpassing goals within them, and the learned knowledge that ambition is hollow when there is no goal to aim for. glass ceilings remember nobody. ’ when i saw the HALF-BLOOD so it doesn’t surprise me that they feel POSITIVE towards muggles.

adelina was raised with a certain level of guilt that she was sure to hide at the bottom of her stomach. ghastly aware of what her existence had meant for her father and his name, despite his attempts of protection, there was always a great need within her to outshine any competition --- and when she got to hogwarts, that meant doubly towards purebloods. to be sorted into slytherin as a half-blood was  ...  concerning, for while adelina took great pride in her name by virtue of her father only, there were certain communal beliefs that brought bile to her throat.

she was isolated, to say the least. and only part of it was due to the social stigma. her school years were some of the loneliest of her life, and frankly-- she was content with it. it allowed her to study and work through her guilt and raise herself above the expectations put upon her. her first two years were the trickiest-- and while she did not lag behind so much, it was a hurdle to jump when confronting the atlas-level burdens put upon herself and the lack of conversation. most of her interactions came from teachers, as well as the constant owls to and from her father --- something that only teetered out in her final few years, when studying was all that occupied her mind.

duelling was something she was always apt with-- powerful was always a word used to describe her in magical ability only. her wand was her closest friend and strongest ally---as soon as she’d managed to break it in by her second year. one could say this was the not only the breaking point for the wand, but also for her-- as any advances she had made towards friendships had been drawn into herself, and she had slowly become a recluse in her own right in lieu of gaining power. offensive and defensive spells are her speciality, and when one says speciality  ----  her shelves of golden medals and trophies can attest to it.

so, once free of hogwarts and the watchful eyes of her peers, she traded one lense for another. she worked her way up the athletic magic chain one duel, one competition at a time, and it took two years for her to become a national champion. once her shelves at her father’s home were full she took a year to travel the world with a portion of her ever growing prize money and learn technique and spells and combinations from other champions. the whole time sending earned rewards back to her father at home, to put into savings or to use for himself, alongside postcards and trinkets. it’s while she was in her first week home after her first international win in the united states that she truly began to question her motivations and drives. after all-- she’d started the journey to give her father someone to be proud of, someone he wouldn’t regret trading his old life in for. and the slow realisation that he would be proud without any matter of accomplishment settled into her bones. 

she did not retire, but she did take a break. it has been a year since her epiphany, and a year of finding a new path-- in her case, studying to take up a teaching mantle, as well as looking into being an auror and following her father’s footsteps. she has enough funds to last her a lavish lifestyle for many years, and naturally her eye had been drawn to doors she knew she could not open, and doubted she even wanted to. still  ..  the curiosity of a life that could have been was always an intoxicating thing.

evangeline was born to the second wife of a rich man who already had two children prior. that should tell you what her life was planned to be ( hint : the same ). she wasn’t a son , and there were two others prioritized before her in terms of inheritance. MEANING: it would be very difficult to stand out. 

now , to understand evangeline , you must understand what kind of people the rowles are. or , at least who her mother was , and who her father had been at the time. see , during her youth , the rowles were famous for their fetes and their estate established itself as the place to be. they was nothing if not extravagant and their parties only reflected that.

after her mother died , though , without her to host , they lost their footing at the top of society. the house elves had her things packed away within a week and evangeline sat alone and watched as invisible strings tugged the jewel - toned dresses from their hangers and into ornate trunks that live in the attic. it was a simple end to an era. and while the rowles are still a celebrated family , they aren’t as affluent as they had been a decade prior.

but , eva has always wanted more than that. or atleast , has always wanted more than to see her mother’s legacy perish like that. the moment she left the hallowed halls of hogwarts , she launched herself into a campaign to elevate herself to the top of pureblood society. with her hufflepuff charm , under the tutelage of probably the Coolest Woman She Has Ever Met and a shiny new engagement ring from some she’s not so sure ... even likes her ... she plans to takeover pureblood society.

eva is extremely nosy and persistant. while her mother praised her curiousity , others begrudged her intrusive habits. eva doesn’t know what personal space is.

loyalty is celebrated in hufflepuffs , but eva can be clingy. her friends are near and dear to her , and when she’s around them , her tenacity is obvious.

if hogwarts hosted beauty pageants , eva would have miss congeniality in the bag. the pureblood is genial – friendly and cheerful. she is ever the hostess and you’ll never see her without a perfect smile.

matthieu is born to a muggle and a witch and that is his first mistake. it’s why the witches sneer at him when his father walks him through la rue furstemberg ; it’s why his uncles watch him so closely , apprehension clear on their face ; it’s why he can slip through the cracks and fill the spaces in between , but he will never find himself welcome in any place he wants to call home.

after beauxbatons , matt is conscripted to the war. it’s not quite the second mistake , but it leads to it. when he returns , he’s not quite the same. he loses his idealism. growing up , he’d always wanted to close the gap for people like him ( the half - bloods with one foot in , one foot out ). the thing is , after the war , he sort of forgot about it.

when he returns to france , he picks up a job at bar -- it’s nothing but a glorified a hole in the wall , but it pays for him to get his own place. it’s sandwiched neatly by a hostel , and a potions shoppe. this is where he meets tatiana greengrass that fateful summer and this is how he comes to commit his third mistake : falling in love with someone above his station. he thinks he truly fell in love with her , but the relationship ends before the leaves change colours. that summer though , she pushes him to finally do his auror training.

but , his fourth and final mistake was working at la ministère des affaires magiques de la france. despite his years of service with the french ministry , matthieu found that he couldn’t shed their judgement and the incident of his birth constantly followed him around. and so , when he received the offer to transfer to the english ministry ... he took it. honestly , being partnered up with atticus lestrange ( who thankfully , it’s a prejudiced fuck ) isn’t so bad.

handsome boys grow up knowing they’re handsome , and matthieu , with pride , classifies himself as such. while he can be a bit of an ASSHOLE , he’s still rather CHARMING. sort of. maybe CHEEKY. it’s a french trademark.

he’s comprised mostly of RAGE. it’s a controlled rage , but rage nonetheless.

matthieu’s got a big of a commitment issue ( this is likely due to the fact his most meaningful relationship was a summer romance ). while he’s fairly sociable , good luck getting to know him. he’s fairly DISTANT.

here are some stats to start off 

i’m going to put in connection requests for family members (if anyone’s interested!), but basically she comes from the quintessential pureblood family. they’re very well to do, value reputation above all else, and are definitely blood purists. 

there is a lot of pressure on lyra to be the perfect daughter. growing up she was expected to act a certain way, have the right friends, and be sorted into slytherin. she mostly went along with this, rebelling in other, more acceptable ways

she’s much more open and accepting than her parents would like. she’s seen purebloods and muggleborns who are far more skilled than her and doesn’t quite understand the elitism but knows when to play her role

still, she could be found interacting with all sorts of witches and wizards, even muggles if the opportunity presents itself, but isn’t quite ready to sever ties with her family or declare herself a blood traitor 

for now, she’s content to play both sides, so to speak and do what’s most convenient for her, which means befriending half-bloods, but only in secret. chatting with muggleborns but refusing to stand up for them. 

she’s lives a very socialite-esque lifestyle of luxury but also currently owns a shop in diagon alley to pass the time. she’s quite cavalier about it all but finds enjoyment in selling and designing dress robes to bring wizarding fashion into the “modern era”

any connections would be lovely! people she went to hogwarts with, people in the same social circle, perhaps someone her parents would like her to marry (a pureblood, of course), half-bloods or muggleborns that she’s friendly with against all odds, anything!

cassandra was born because her parents needed a spare to their heir. however , when she came out swaddled in pink , they tried again. then once more. finally , their precious little baby swaddled in blue was presented to them. ask her if she’s bitter and she’ll deny it — but nobody ever said she had to tell the truth. 

see , being the eldest girl came with more responsibility than being the eldest boy. cadmus and his anger issues got a free pass , whereas cassandra and any flaw that came to be was put under a magnifying glass. while he got to hurt people anyway he pleased , she was always there , picking up the pieces. any damage he made to the family name was repaired by her. it was a thankless job.

like being an artist. you can find her on the instrumentals of a number of songs , or you might find her honey voice melting into the harmonies of your favourite tracks. while she’s not famous for her music , cassandra still makes a living. sort of. it’s hard to measure that when you come from old money and still live in on family’s estate. 

speaking of estates ... the cold despair cadmus left in his wake quickly dissipated when she overheard their father the other night — alexei , the fucking squib , was going to be named the heir. while cadmus had been far from a good brother , at least he was a wizard. at least he was capable of heading one of the purest lines in britain. unlike the little imposter that she calls her brother.

themis was born as the second daughter to a bohemian kind of family. she was one of five , and the only witch. when she got her hogwarts letter her parents were properly confused , but they weren’t the kind to argue. after her seven years of repping the blue and silver , themis just never felt inclined to return home and sought to make her life in the wizarding community. 

now , lots of people remember the leaky cauldron riot -- they remember where they were , who they knew , what they thought of it and which monster they think started the fight. themis , despite literally being a part of it, cannot. all she can remember is waking up to a soon - to - be - familiar darkness. wait. that’s dramatic. after the riot , themis wakes up with her left eye swollen shut. she can only assume she got decked in the face , but because apparently no one at the pub noticed her getting beaten half - to - death , she’ll never know. what themis does know ? she’s permanently blind in her left eye with weak vision in her right.

it’s been seventeen years since the riot , so it doesn’t even cross her mind anymore. it’s simply that themis lives with the consequences of the event. see , it pauses her entire life. as a muggleborn , her career path is fairly limited to begin with , but as partially blind , it narrows further. it doesn’t matter what her first dream had been. now she’s a store clerk. it’s a simple life.

themis has always been an UNASSUMING girl -- it’s a trait she inherited from her parents. they never asked a single question , so neither did she. she was always on the MEEK side , afraid to speak up for herself. 

in her young adulthood , themis has become more OUTSPOKEN. see , she’s DRIER , now. SCATHING at times -- as if a bitterness has sept through.

for someone who favours the MUNDANE , you’d expect her to return to muggle london and find an office job. but , themis is still CHARMED by spells and potions.

while the averys are old blood , cadmus doesn’t necessarily care for pureblood society. he cares more for pureblood ideals. he was raised with the belief that muggles were less than them , and because he believes in it so resolutely , he doesn’t know what to make of his squib of a brother. 

cadmus is a bully. during school , he was known for two things : quidditch , and being a dick. he was the kind of asshole who’d shove a muggleborn into the wall just ‘cause. his unflinching judgement is what put him in tom riddle’s radar , dubbing him the muscle of the gang.

in the third game of his seventh year , cadmus sprained his wrist ( which worsened because he kept quiet , rather than going to the infirmary ) and ended his entire quidditch career. with his dream vanished , so did any light inside cadmus. he stopped doing the things he loved ( quidditch , bullying mudbloods , etc ) and quietly graduated hogwarts.

cadmus grew dispassionate about nearly everything. his father got him a position as a wizengamot aide to keep him busy. see , he lived for quidditch , but without it , he didn’t have anything else he cared about. that is , until he met dotty. after their whirlwind courtship , he found something new to love : their family. now , with two young sons , cadmus is beginning to consider a different ambition in rising the wizengamot ranks.

cadmus is nothing if not CONFIDENT. the pureblood is righteous in his ideals. he’s right, you’re wrong, shut up. 

during hogwarts , he had always been known as TEMPERAMENTAL. while he’s gotten better , he’s quick to EXPLODE and BAD TEMPERED.

cadmus is every little boy with privilege. he’s ENTITLED and AGGRESSIVE and gets what he wants. he’s UNPLEASANT , to say the least.

although he loved quidditch , someone was always a fraction better. he couldn’t help but feel a little JEALOUS.
