Why did you deactivate most of you social media accounts?
i dont have any content right now to post.. i post on private accounts for my friends but idk i see social media a such a huge timesuck. if im going to take peoples time by posting something, i want it to be definitely worth their time if its going out to that many people. i dont mind posting here or twitter cus theres less people who will see it, and i dont have to think about algorithms or anything like that. i dont like how ig has face filters that give you plastic surgery and how surgically altered photos are put at the top of peoples feeds, it's giving so many people body dysmorphia. IG incentivizes unhealthy behavior and glorifies stuff i dont want to see. i constantly get ads to get plastic surgery, or to get face filler from the kardashians doctor. that and filters that make me look like i had PDO thread lift, at least 2 syringes of filler, and sometimes even a lefort where they break your jaw- just get automatically added to my filter register (to the right) which i just think is so damaging and fucked on every level. i will reactivate when i have something i really want a lot of people to see, but even then i feel weird being on a platform whos ethics i just fundamentally disagree with so much. that being said, i have found amazing art, fashion and people thru IG. i just see how many hours a lot of people spend on there, and how much people ignore each other IRL cus of it, and it makes me really aware of people's time. i see so many posts that are pointless and evoke no emotion or inspiration in me, or they give me weird random pointless dreams about random pointless shit like adam sandler, i literally had an adam sandler dream instead of something magical and mind blowing the other night and i 100% blame memes. i just don't want to contribute to that cycle too much. i think its best to be careful about what media you consume cus it takes a lot more space in your brain than you could fathom. everything you see on ig is in ur subconscious somewhere. even though i try to only look at art, my explore is always flooded with celebrities dotted in there between stuff the algorithm knows i like. i don't want to know anything about celebrities, i dont want to know about plastic surgery or socialites, so i go to places where its not inescapable like here, discord, telegram, etc. sorry for long winded answer, i think about this stuff a lot cus i know a lot of people who this stuff is affecting and i dont like it.
