[Pearl and Gem are out in the fields of Pearl’s base, armed with massive amounts of dog toys. Pearl’s dogs can't just stay inside all the time, after all– they need to go for walks and to the bathroom. Pearl likes to bring others along– usually she can handle them all on her own, but better to have an extra pair of eyes just in case.]

[They're talking idly in-between Pearl throwing tennis balls for the dogs. She laughs, wings fluttering.]

And yknow, everyone wishes they were a mob themselves sometimes, don't they? I mean, look at 'em, they're so happy. [She gestures to one of the dogs, trotting up to her with a ball, tail wagging.]

[As the last golden rays of the afternoon find their way through Pearl’s window, she awakes from her usual midday nap with tears wetting her cheeks and her fingers dug into her pillows.]

[A Double Life nightmare. She doesn’t get these every day anymore, or even every week or month... but the memories still creep into her dreams every once in a while, isolation and snow, pack-warmth and blood.]

[On nights like these she is prone to falling back into that place. To threats and arguments and getting upset over every little thing.]

[It's better if she finds something repetitive to do and stays away from others. So she pulls herself out of bed with nary a thought to breakfast or changing out of her pajamas or stopping to say good evening to all her pets, and flies up to her roof to check all the screws.]

[Pearl awakens to an inch near the base of her abdomen, annoying to the point it's slightly painful. When she scratches it, her hand comes away dusted with murky blue.]

[Oh no. She and Impulse and Skizz went down into an ancient city looking for echo shards, just like her brothers and Gem did. And her brothers and Gem all have sculk infections now and no idea how to get rid of them. Gosh darn it.]

[She should tell Impulse and Skizz so they know to keep watch for any itching before she goes looking for someone who might know how to fix the problem. She flies off to Skizzleman's base first, landing at his doorstep.]

Hey Skizz! Where areee youuuu? [Pearl calls out.]

Hi! Mod here! I'm Syl, she/her, if you see notes from @sylsoddsandends that's me! I'm new to the life series fandom and a little shy still but I wanna make some more friends to ramble with so I'm putting myself out there yippee :) if I've got anything ooc to add to a post I'll be talking in brackets [like this!] and I'll use them for narration too!

This is of course not the real Pearl by any means and not meant to be associated with her, I am just a person who likes roleplaying!!!

No NSFW asks please! I might make the occasional joke but I don't want other people to approach me that way.

I would prefer not to interact with DSMP characters, partially because I have absolutely no familiarity with the SMP, partially for personal reasons

There is some shipping content here. Gempearl is at play but romantic interactions between other blogs will also be acknowledged.

I also have no familiarity with other SMPs outside of hermitcraft/trafficlife/empires so Pearl will probably treat such characters as strangers

Original characters are a-OK to interact but I'd rather avoid starting any involved plots with them– except for maybe Watchers, discuss with me if you'd like on that front

Assorted headcanons may also be at play, I'm a fan of Pearl as a moth hybrid and her getting to keep her life series dogs on hermitcraft ^^ this Pearl will also remember everything just as the other affiliated blogs do!

[Pearl is... stressed. She's been doing a lot of helping people this week, which is good! But... wow, it's exhausting, and she has a lot on her mind. Strange teas, prank wars, sculk infections, exile, Doc and Martyn...]

[It's the middle of the day, but she's still awake. She needs to clean. She'll feel better if she does some cleaning. Never mind the fact that she's on her fifth cup of coffee. She cleans her base. She cleans the post office. She cleans her shops.]

[And now, she is wandering around the shopping district, absentmindedly dusting off random objects and trying not to fall asleep on her feet.]

[Pearl arrives at the flower shop, raincoat dripping, shulker full of flowers in hand. She'd only just realized that the shop would likely need to be restocked– it's Valentine's Day, everyone is going to want flowers– so she has less on hand than she'd like, but as long as people aren't buying stacks and stacks of them, it should be fine.]

If your mailbox has been broken for any reason, please contact a postal worker to fix it instead of doing it yourself? I'd really rather the whole system doesn't get broken because of a bad fix!

[Pearl goes around her dining room with a feather duster for the third time in the day. Scott is coming over. They're finally going to talk, really talk, about what happened. Everything ought to be extra, extra clean. He'll chastize her if she doesn’t he's used to the pristine halls of his castle, she wants him to feel comfortable.]

[She should do the kitchen again too. And the living room. Just in case he wants to sit in there. Where's the best place to sit with company? Why are her dogs barking– oh that's the doorbell he's here. She rushes to meet him at the door, still wearing her cleaning outfit. Oh dear. Will she look embarrassing?]

[She opens the door.]
