Walking San Francisco & Thinking Out Loud - I snapped this last summer as ... Pic 1 - a bumblebee 🐝 was on approach to land on the pink flowers 🌸🌸 of a crepe myrtle bush. I didn't notice the preying mantis until ... Pic 2 - when I moved to get a slightly better angle for sunlight. My settings were SS 1/1250 sec / f10 / iso 800 - It might be an optical illusion but I could swear the mantis' eyeball is bulging out while watching the bee invade it's space.
