SO

Ren is the king of of a small kingdom with an undecided name. He has several advisors but bdubs and Bigb are his closest, each with their own ties to him (bdubs is attracted to the power but loves etho who works in the royal gardens). But no advisor is closer than Martyn, the kings hand.

Ren was betrothed to bigb, but couldn't marry him because he was in love with Martyn.

When Ren had martyn cut off his head in a ritual to turn him into The Red King (and thus make him significantly stronger), martyn watched Ren slowly lose himself to the red kings call. He grew more and more violent and drew away from martyn, seeing him as a pawn to more power rather than the man he used to be willing to burn the stars for.

Martyn was blinded as a child after he and his siblings (+bigb who'd always been a gifted mage) tried to harness watcher magic. He didn't get to see ren become what he did, he just had to listen.

They do get a happy ending though, once ren is returned to his normal self and the broken world he created was repaired.

-colorblind but only to green

-very flexible, he’s got double jointed/hyper-mobile energy

-he slicks his hair back for convenience sake but it’s naturally curly. Also the fire hair is an adrenaline response and is not actually very hot to the touch

Etho

-mostly blind in his left eye

-not quite human but nobody really knows what he is

Jimmy

- very good at whistling because bird

-surprisingly strong

I’m gonna assume this about ranchers because I never run out of things to say about them

Somewhat often, and Tango does wayyy more than Jimmy. Cos Tango says I love you to everyone so it comes way more naturally. But with Jimmy is still pretty often but it’s more rare

And also a Rendoc bit because I know they’re your sillies

Ren says it all the time every day both sincerely and passively. Docm almost never says it, so when he does it’s very special

The King and his Court

So ren has lots of advisors, but his main ones are Martyn (who’s kind of in charge) Bdubs whos also the royal architect, and Bigb who I’m not sure on yet but he does have an important social role.

Also Scar is the head of military, but his day job/coverup is a simple magic shop owner

A detail about this is that Martyn is blind, which surprisingly doesn’t make him any less capable in fights and battles.

I guess he just has good hearing…

So basically in the au, Martyn, Grian, Pearl, and Jimmy are siblings. Martyn is the oldest, Grian and Pearl are twins, and Jimmy is the youngest

Also they all may or may not be in/were in the cult of watchers

Martyn and their family friend bigb are two of Rens most trusted advisors, and Jimmy is the sheriff of a small neighborhood but still reports to the king. This is tricky because Pearl was cast out of the town for Plot Reasons so Jimmy is kinda required to report or arrest her but he can’t morally do that so he “happens to lose her”

Grian kinda drifted from them, but he does have a definite place in this au, especially when the actual rebellion starts.

Before the incident that caused Pearl to be basically exiled, she worked with Etho in the King’s gardens.

Traffic Zed!!!! Why are Joel, Pearl, and Grian on his list? Do you think he allied with anybody?

I kinda chose people at random, but I do have ideas for each of them.

-Joel would try to kill Zed, thinking he will not put up much of a fight. He is wrong about this, because Zed is incredibly unhinged and WILL be bloodthirsty. Joel is now terrified of him.

-Pearl: there can only be one absolutely feral hermit on this server and now they will fight for it. Or team up. Chaos either way.

-Grian. Idk I think they would be at each other’s throat like stray cats

He would 100% ally with Impulse, Tango, and Skizz. But as I said before, him and Jimmy would be so funny together.

1-When did you get into hermitcraft?

Okay funny story: I watched Grian before he joined hermitcraft back in the build swap/evo days. Then one build swap he had this guy called "Mumbo Jumbo" and I though he was cool! So I asked my dad for permission to watch him (I was like ten at the time and had to have permission to watch youtubers). Then me and my dad started watching Mumbo's season 5 together. (We still talk about hermitcraft together)

Suffice it to say that I was hyped when Grian joined hermitcraft in season 6 and I've been watching since! (I only really got INTO it in terms of hyperfixation when double life came out.)

#15: All I’ve Ever Known from Hadestown

I adore this song for ranchers so much, mostly from Tango’s perspective (especially in certain au’s). It’s the idea that tango hasn’t experienced very much genuine kindness in the series (especially in last life where he became a pez dispenser but for lives) and having that realization that maybe people CAN treat him with gentleness and maybe that person happens to be his soulmate

These lines particularly stand out

If I’m drawing in my sketchbook or painting I usually just have videos on in the background (mostly tiktok compilations and Minecraft stuff)

If I’m doing something digitally I listen to music and sometimes audiobooks. Digital art time is the time where I binge whole showtune soundtracks

(If I’m at school which is where I do most of my drawings in my sketchbook, then I listen to the teacher mostly sometimes)
