MOPANI LODGE OKANVANGO DELTA

So after our private plane landing on our own private airstrip we were met by Lewen our guide for the next couple of days he said we had to wait for our plane to take off to make sure he got off safely and that no wildlife wandered onto the sandstrip ....he got off fine and then we went onto a small boat to get to the lodge we asked how many people were staying at the hotel ? Yep you’ve probably guessed it we were the only 2 there for our stay .....our own private lodge !!!......it only took 5 minutes to get to the lodge jetty where we had a welcome committee- the staff were lined up singing for us - ( we were beginning to feel like celebrities!! D listers maybe 🤣 ).....lodge was bloody lovely and the rooms were massive tents with a balcony with a view over the lagoon we had our welcome drinks with the very relaxed manager and he then told us our itinerary lunch was first thing there was tons of food and all lovely had a couple of drinks with lunch then relax before “high tea” then a sunset cruise around the lagoon then dinner ( oh noooo more food !! ) ....we chilled for a bit and then came back to restaurant area for high tea then our sunset drinks were ordered and packed in the cool box ( now known as the eskie from Phil ) and off around the lagoon we were sat up on the top deck with our wine & beers very nice .....we saw very little wildlife apart from the birds and a dead cow in the water half chewed ( not so nice and very smelly ) he said the crocs had got it and would be back to finish it off sunset was lovely and back to lodge - when we got back to the lodge it looked beautiful all candles a fire pit and table laid out - we went off to freshen up ( as you do for Dinner 😂 ) then had really nice dinner with Lewen & Murrey the manager - then as usual the after dinner announcement around the fire pit tonight for the next days itinerary.... night nights....Lots of love jacksandmal 😍xxx
