Gratitude for this blast from the past. When I was 7-8 years old, my Mom and I lived in an ashram in South Fallsburg, NY for 6 months. It's where I got strep a bunch of times and was on antibiotics for it (didn't work), but it's also where I made many happy memories. Kids would go to the Kid's House during the day and play, meditate, and make art. I loved it there. I remember when I painted this, I was drawing and one of the adults there said, "You're really talented. Would you like to use some special paints?" And she brought me a canvas, some acrylics, and the most special of all: the gold paint. She only offered these to me, and I felt like it was an incredibly high honor. Ganesh has always been my favorite Hindu God, so this is what I painted with that honor. It still hangs in my mother's bedroom to this day, almost 40 years later. Gratitude for this inspiration I had today in my kitchen. I might have mention that I've recently rediscovered my love of my kitchen, my creativity on the kitchen, and my joy of cooking and creating delicious healthful meals for my family. Well count this among them, this was divinely inspired! 🥔🥔🥔 Hash browns in the waffle maker (oil-free!). 🍄🍄🍄 Topped with sauteed mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach (sauteed in veggie stock). 🥑🥑🥑 Topped with homemade Guacamole (avocado, tomatoes, onions, lime juice). Simple and so delicious! Gratitude for the view from here. This is one thing I really love about living in this apartment, the view of the skies. I really enjoy Wisconsin skies, and sunsets like this are just the icing on the cake. I love what the clouds do here.
