To be completely honest, I had planned to do this before I even realized the anniversary for S&R was this week, so the timing worked out perfectly!

People voted to see them in their civvies, so here they are in their Saleucami outfits! I know there were some requests to see Kimber in her red dress, but one, I did do that in a previous drawing and two, this is the outfit she wears when Hunter is in his civvies, so I just kept it that way. And I used a quote from Hunter in my story from Part 2. But oh my gosh, I can't tell you how happy I am with this!! 🥰🥰 It's my babies!!

🥳Photogirl894's "Sun and Rain" Fanfic Two Year Celebration!!🥳

As of today, it has now been TWO whole years since I started writing and posting "Sun and Rain", my Bad Batch fanfic and love story between Hunter and my OC, Kimber!

Crazy how time flies when you're having fun, right?? 😆

I've added a whole lot to my story since last year and I'm insanely happy with how it's progressing! This year, the story finally connected to the events in Bad Batch season one and man, things have been crazy since. It's been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least, but it's still been fun! As season two was airing this year, all I could do after each episode was go "How would I fit Kimber into these events?" and the wheels have been turning, I can assure you! There's still a lot more to come 🥰

First of all, I have to make a HUGE shoutout to my bestie, @l-lend , who also on this day a year ago pitched the idea of Kimber having an all-girl squad. At the time, I had no plans for such a thing, but we got to talking more on discord and the idea started to grow on me...before long, I came up with a way to make that addition and K was kind enough to let me write for her OC, Rina, which was my way of thanking her for the idea. Thus, the Koriena Force was born and, fast forward a year, they've all become such a great and integral part of my fic! As part of that, K has also become practically my co-writer of the story and has pitched a lot of great ideas and witty one-liners, helped me through some blocks and has been a great supporter of my writing! I couldn't have gotten this far without you, bestie!! 💜💜

Also a huge thank you to everyone on my taglist as well as those who are currently reading my fic! I've gained a few more loyal readers and it makes me so happy! I think my least favorite thing to write are action sequences 😅 Sometimes it's hard to picture those accurately or, even if I have a clear picture, writing them as clearly as they are in my head is hard sometimes. I always wonder "does this make sense? Are they able to picture what I'm trying to convey here?" I just trust my gut and do what I can lol

Morgannnnnnnn, it is that anniversary of Sun and Rain! That is so awesome and my, how time flies when having fun 😁

I love the story and all the characters in it. Ofc, it is TBB so duh, it has my beloved fave Crosshair and Echo! But you managed to write in the OC that has also taken up space in my heart with Kimber. And to top it all off, you managed to have this awesome all ladies group of the Koriena Force join the fray. Rina and the gals are also awecome ( Lex!!!!! )

Now, some of my favorite things are ofcourse the relationship that is blooming between Lex and Echo ( duh ) and the entire relation that has grown between Kimber and the gang. But that dream sequence where she gets to speak to Fives was so good!

Will we get more Crosshair? And if you need a nice weirdo to become his special gal, I volunteer! I will sacrifice myself for the greater good, someone has to do it right? 😂 In all seriousness, do you have any plans of adding more OC`s and will we get to see Rex find out about Kory???????????

Which character is the most difficult for you to write in the story, OC or not?

Do you also break with canon in the sense that presumed dead characters could actually be alive? For example instead of having the dream sequence with Fives you could have decided he was frozen and ressurected for some reason and tadaaaa, Fives is alive ( that is just an example ofcourse ).

It's been such a great journey interweaving Kimber into the Bad Batch's lives as well as the season 1 story so far. And the girls, my gosh! I love them so much! @l-lend is certainly the one to thank for that idea! 😊

Of course, you would love Echo and Lex's growing relationship 😜 You're the reason they're even happening in the first place lol and coming up with each different relationship for Kimber and all the boys was so fun for me in the beginning and developing them over time has been so great to do!

Yes, there will be more Crosshair. We are getting to Bracca soon, after all...😅😁 as for more OC's...not really on the agenda right now, to be perfectly honest. Integrating five of them into all this consistently is already pretty crazy lol

Will Rex find out about Kori? You'll find out soon enough 😉

Hmm I feel like Tech is the hardest for me to write. I've gotten a better handle on him now, but writing someone with a much bigger vocabulary than me and is much more intelligent than me is sometimes a challenge. I definitely think I've got his teasing sass down, at least!

As for breaking canon with dead characters...probably not 😔 as much as I'd love to, I'm too caught up in keeping as canon compliant as possible. So yeah, Fives is still dead, sadly. The only time I'll consider breaking canon is depending on how season three of the Bad Batch ends. We'll have to see!

Hints on what's to come...a bit of fun, some sweet moments and then...a ton of angst and heartache 😅

The scene that made me the most sad/angry was in chapter 25 when Wat Tambor showed up. Seeing Echo have a panic attack broke my heart.

And Wat Tambor felt nothing. He just wanted his “experiment” back. Man there’s no words for how awful he is.

But written incredibly 💛

Oh man, I remember slightly hating myself for thinking of that, but I knew it would make for a good twist. It would be terrible for Echo to see his captor again and it would be a moment of anger for Kimber, knowing who he is and what he did to Echo. That was a moment that proved her ultimate loyalty to her best friend as she was willing to risk her life to avenge him and his suffering, especially after hearing how callously Tambor spoke about Echo.

Thank you so much for saying that 💜 I remember feeling self-conscious about writing Echo's panic attack and hoping it came across okay, so I appreciate you saying that you think I wrote it well. Love you much, my friend!!

What was your favorite and least favorite moments to write??

I love the way you have Crosshair still be his stubborn self but still have a soft side for kimber, but also not too soft to where it’s just not him ya know!

Well, my favorite parts to write were Hunter and Kimber's first kiss and also when they first confessed that they love each other. I'm such a romantic sap and I had those moments planned for a long time. Though, the love confession, I actually had planned for way later in the story (like post Bracca later 😅), but with how things were going, I just couldn't wait any longer.

My least favorite parts to write are battle sequences. It's just hard to know if what I'm writing accurately or realistically describes what I'm picturing in my head. That and pacing is a hard thing to gauge, too. I also hated writing when Kimber left, too 🥺 That was an idea I knew would be cause for drama, but man, it broke my heart to do it.

I'm honestly really happy to hear you say that about how I write Crosshair. I loved giving him a soft side for Kimber, someone who can be just as stubborn as he is and someone he's come to trust, but I'm sometimes afraid that I make him too soft and a little out of character, you know? So to have you say he's "not too soft to where it's just not him" really puts my mind at ease. I love the dynamic Crosshair and Kimber have. It's been fun to write and it's going to get more interesting as time goes on.

I love the moment where the bad batch came back for Kimber and asked her to join their squadron and Rex's message to Kimber what her home truly is.

It was so sweet 😘😍🥰

Aww, I love that moment so much! 💜 It's the beginning of a whole new adventure and I was excited to get to that! Thank you so much!!

Shortly after starting that chapter, I saw a picture somewhere that had a quote Rex used in his message. I tweaked it a bit so I wasn't fully stealing it and to make it fit the context of the story, but the original quote was by Beau Taplin and it goes:

"Home is not where you are from, it's where you belong. Some of us travel the whole world to find it. Others, find it in a person."

I saw that, fell in love with it and knew I had to incorporate it into that chapter, so I added it into Rex's message to really drive it home for Kimber that she was meant to be with the Bad Batch. It's one of my favorite moments 🥰

Congratulations with this aniversary of Sun and Rain! 1 year and hopefully it will continue on much, much longer. I think it will not come as a surprise that I fell in love with this sentence : She would wait until the light of all the stars in the galaxy burned out, if she had to.

I have to admit, I am fearing for the time when order 66 will come and how things will change for Kimber and the gang. I am still heavily defending Crosshair and demanding his return with the Batch !

Okay, you're seriously making me blush with how much you love that line!! 🤭😊🥰 That makes me really happy! I actually came up with that line while sitting in church, to be perfectly honest. I wanted something to really describe how long Kimber was willing to wait for Hunter and give him space and that was just something that came to mind. With how often they travel in space (and having hardly traveled before meeting the boys), the stars have become important to Kimber and I thought that was what would come to her mind. That is how much she loves Hunter and how willing she is to wait for him.

I know, I'm dreading Order 66, as well, especially given Kimber's close relationship with Crosshair. Honestly, I never intended on them growing as close as they are, but as the story progressed, I started liking their dynamic more and I fleshed it out more. Though that thought came to me of when Order 66 happens and Crosshair's betrayal...oh gosh, I'm dreading writing that and other future scenes! I've already got certain parts mapped out and I hate myself for it 😩 Like I've mentioned before, it's canon compliant, so unfortunately, Crosshair is still going to join the Empire and all of that, but Kimber will still affect certain parts of that.

You know, my inspiration for Kimber's growth and becoming the person she wants to be kind of came out of my own frustration with the story 😅 I kept having her end up in trouble and I just thought, "I need better ideas than her being a constant damsel in distress. I want her to be a stronger character." Then I had the idea of having her get training with other people. That kind of also came from my desire to include other characters, hence how Jesse and Kix came to be in the story, as well. She's now a stronger soldier and the BB boys will see her in action once more better than ever.

Oh Fives, my beloved! I'd recently rewatched Clone Wars and just fell in love with him all over again and I thought, especially after learning about him from Jesse, that Kimber just had to meet him and...well with him being dead, that made things a little bit difficult 😅 But I decided to spin it into something that served as both a sweet moment between Kimber and Fives as well as foreshadowing of events soon to come (and we all know what that is, of course) Plus, Kimber deserved a good dream, for once. That whole dream became a setup for her returning to the squad and everything else that's coming. It was fun to write for Fives, even if it might just be the one time. I love him and miss him so much 🥺

S&R asks, I haven't read too far into it just yet (Chapter 6 or so), but I had a question about Kimber. Would there come a time in the future where Kimber puts together her own squad (either through fallout of order 66 or another passage of time causing separation from the boys)? How would her leadership style be?

Also I might just rambling over the idea of Hunter getting an awe struck 'that's my girl' moment if Kimber comes swooping in with her own squad and her squad is just. killing. it. I also just like a strong girl squad giving the Batch a good run.

Looking forward to reading the rest and looking forward spending more time getting to know Kimber and her character growth. <3

You know, that honestly would be kind of a cool moment! I'm sad to say, though, that nothing like that has happened so far, at least with her having her own squad. Though, Hunter will definitely have a couple of those "that's my girl" moments as time goes on for different reasons. I may keep this idea in mind, though, for something similar in the future! I think it would be cool 😊

In terms of how her leadership style would be, I mean, she's trained with and also been in a relationship with a Sergeant, so she's definitely gotten some pointers and seen good examples of how to be a leader 😊 She'd be fearless in the face of danger, even if deep down she's terrified; confident and immovable. She'd put anyone she's leading before her and make sure they're safe. The well-being of others has always meant more to her than her own.

I love your story so much, I can't put it into words.

One scene that I absolutely loved was when Kimber shot the vulture droid and flew off holding onto the rope. She and Hunter truly are a match made in heaven.

I love all of the various relationships Kimber has with the boys and I hope there is some more interaction with Tech and Wrecker in the future.

Haha oh man, I just had to have Kimber do that with the Vulture Droid! I love that moment with Hunter in the Clone Wars that I just had to have it happen with Kimber, too. And the funny thing is: she doesn't even know Hunter did that before! That's why it's even better and it's like you said: they're a match made in heaven 🥰 She emulates him even when she doesn't know it! That and it was just a badass move and made Wolffe roll his eyes at her slight recklessness in the moment, despite the fact he was a little impressed, too.

I will definitely be having more interactions between Kimber and Tech and Wrecker in the future, if I can. I've tried giving her moments with those two in the past to make up for all the times she's had moments with the other three, but they're just the ones she's closest to. I feel kinda bad cuz I love Tech and Wrecker, too 😅 I will certainly try to give her more interactions with those two in the future. There are a couple ideas I already have in mind that I think will be fun and also sweet 😊

I know you made a post about this, but it's good to remember that every time I hear this Sun and Rain comes to mind 😉❤️

Bestie, I can't thank you enough for sending me this song!! 💜 Funny enough, I listened to it just yesterday!

This song is literally so perfect for Hunter and Kimber 🥰 I love it so much and a lot of the lyrics really apply to the story. I want to share some of the lyrics from the song that hit home for me for those two:

"Let's roam the streets and just forget about the world tonight

Grab my hand and we'll run until we're out of sight"

This really reminded me of chapter 28 when Hunter and Kimber are on Kuat and they get the day alone together. They just want to focus on each other and having a sense of normalcy for once. Then in 29, they briefly contemplate the idea of running away together, but they know they can't.

"And now we're standing in the rainy night together

And all I know is that I'm home when I'm with you"

This reminded me of when they had their first kiss, which was on Kamino. In the middle of a rainy night 😊 That was also kind of the moment when Kimber realized she couldn't ever leave the Bad Batch. At least, not for the reasons she was thinking of at the time. She was already home with them and with Hunter.

"Cause you are the sun when I'm feeling down"

I mean, this one's kinda self-explanatory 😁 It goes with the title!

"You are the calm when I need a hand

You are the warmth when I'm feeling cold"

Hunter is usually one of the ones to help calm Kimber down after a nightmare or when things don't go right. Then there was a night where they were outside, she was feeling cold and Hunter put his arms around her for warmth. It was one of the first kind of intimate moments they shared after she'd joined the squad.

"Let's jump in, into the waters where we've never been"

This one has a double meaning. One, the literal one: Kimber, having been raised on Tatooine, never learned to swim, so she literally gets a couple chances to take a leap into waters she's never been. Then there's the figurative meaning: she's jumping into uncharted waters by staying with the Bad Batch and living a life she's never lived before. Then her and Hunter are both diving into something they've never experienced before by being together and falling in love. It's an adventure they're taking together 💜

"I've waited half a life for you, but dreams come true

I'd wait another ten, I know that you would too"

This one, well, applies to more recent chapter events between Kimber and Hunter, but I'll keep that hush for those who haven't gotten that far 😜 Things look dark now, but hope still remains!

Seriously, I can't even begin to say how much I love this song and how glad I am you sent me this, bestie!! 🥰 I listen to it all the time and it just makes me happy thinking of my story 💜
