Its obvious that something sketchy is going on with the other fandom, cause the rules strictly say that we SHOULD NOT be using multiple IDs to cast votes. Yet they continue to have HUGE increase in votes per day and hours. So either jk-akgaes ARE voting for the other guy out of spite like they said they would, or someone's doing foul play...

The website DOES allow to switch to English unlike the app, but it doesn't let you recharge the hearts.

today’s sp update made my jaw drop in shock and its proving a couple of things for me. isnt it funny (and a little scary) how much power thai armys hold over their global sp numbers? especially given how small the pool of sp users there is. all they had to do was decide they cared abt face anniversary yesterday and now he’s on top of everyone even new releases?

its even funnier when you see his usa numbers dropped slightly so his biggest demographic didn’t even contribute to the boost. usa pjms have been holding it down for months and all it took was a little interest from the market that always favors jk & th to take him over the top. that being said, i sure hope usa jiminettes have their playlists on today since its now technically the anniversary in our time zone and we’re not getting those thai streams again tomorrow lol

I was worried it was going to be a -500k for today's update but it wasn't too bad because other countries pulled their weight.

Do we seriously think that other member fanbases have not posted about donations from China? The difference is that others have not had similar chart success as Jimin, especially in the US. I am not counting Seven here because how much ever the fandom wants to deny it, that song got everything a western artist song does, if not more. There is not much difference in their US streams for the same week considering Seven had double the versions and remixes. 16% of LC overall streams are coming from the US even after 5 months whereas it’s only 9% for Seven. We can see that Seven globally is being carried by asian countries where the number of Spotify users and the streams it is pulling is disproportionate. Even with all this BB is never going to call out Seven success because it has all the playlisting and radio which is what BB wants every artist to do. And who in this fandom is even ready to have this nuanced conversation. Because as soon as you point out all this you are immediately labelled an anti.

And so they were always going to make Jimin the scapegoat irrespective of anything. If not the fanbase funding then it would have been something else. But what I don’t understand is that you know all this and yet you threw shade at Jimin solos. There is this constant push by this fandom to portray Jimin solos as the worst. I’m not saying they are saints but all other member solos do the same shit and yet I see one being called out more than the other. And again if you point this out then you are labelled an anti. Because this fandom always throws Jimin under the bus to call out his solos. Anyways I know I am talking to the wall here because the standard response I see is that his solos are always victimising him or that you guys are in an echo chamber and we call out all solos. I am in enough OT7 spaces to know that is not true but no one would agree to this because then the question arises that maybe it has more to do with bias against Jimin than his solos.

You know, the best way to answer this is probably to pick this whole thing apart, line by line, to show for example where you’ve made fairly accurate observations but drawn the wrong conclusion, as solos and their diet versions and/or exiles typically do. Or to show where you’ve made observations that aren’t consistent with the facts as I know them but which also have carry-on effects to other observations you’ve made, and so on. That’s probably the best approach since I’m well aware these are the arguments and talking points in certain fandom spaces.

But we’ve been having this same conversation since March. It’s been six months of nonstop bullshit theories from PJMs, other solos, their enablers within ARMY, ARMY themselves, etc, and I’ve been writing about this the whole time as well, consistently repeating more or less the same things, noting the same misconceptions, reinforcing the same caution, etc, and now much of what I wrote turned out to be correct, but it seems to have entirely gone over your head in all that righteous indignation. I mean, just today, after reading an article like that, reading the ~5 posts I’ve pumped out on it only today, you still don’t get it. Your primary takeaway from this is that Jimin solos were singled out and shaded by me (and the fandom) and that this proves Jimin is possibly disproportionately hated by the fandom and we must all be hypocrites who don’t really care for him either way… You still can’t see beyond that singular point of view.

I’m tired lmao, and I really don’t see the point in continuing an exercise that’s already doomed to be futile if that ask is any indication. Since you already see this as you talking to a wall. I’m very comfortable with you thinking I’m a hypocrite or whatever else, and you having whatever conclusion you have about all this without me trying to persuade you. And anyway, like I said there’s no use crying over spilled milk. What’s done is done. Everyone who can glean whatever lessons they need to learn from this, will do that, and others won’t, which is probably why I’m nearly certain that when we have to do this all over again next year (or possibly later this year), we’ll have much of the same exact problems many of which will be caused by people who still don’t get it. I only hope at that point, that number will be fewer. That would make so much of our lives easier. If BigHit is actually efficient too and on the ball, then it would be even more so.

A couple more things:

1 - If you’re indeed staying in OT7 spaces Anon, then you’d know the focus has already shifted from all this BS, to preparing for PJM2 already, as well as the next releases (which of course currently take priority). PJM2 is what Jimin is focused on, and that’s what many of his fans/ARMY have shifted towards already - a shift that started in a few OT7 spaces since the third week of April after the screwed up Billboard changes, while most everyone else was coming up with every conspiracy theory in the book to explain how BigHit was secretly pulling the strings within Billboard to cause Billboard to shaft their own artist…

2 - A quick note I want to make on Western awards: By virtue of being a BTS member, Jimin’s chances were already slim. After that Billboard article they’re even slimmer, but he’s still got a chance. It might be an ice cube’s chance in hell, but it’s a chance nonetheless. And the hope I have is that he does get recognized.

Anyway, good luck Anon. You seem to be a bit familiar with my blog but I can’t say you’ve actually read my posts. Even if we clearly disagree I hope you’re working towards supporting his current and next releases, because that’s what I’m doing too. Anything else will make all of this entirely worthless.

Im so messy because I wanna see the reaction in a week when Hobi releases his songs and their streams are inevitably not that good. Armys love throwing pity parties for the rapline members but they also love Tae way more than they like Hobi so I wanna see what will happen. Hopefully both sets of solos get involved too because they've been annoying me

Those posts about Hope on the streets are just full of armies discrediting jimin instead of appreciating the art and the dedication jhope shows.

About report accounts, I noticed that as soon as a tkkr account features on pjm report all other tkkrs start following them. Their followers only increase after that. Tkkrs really be moving like a cult in Twitter. So much toxicity over a kpop ship. It's very stupid really.

This is one reason why report accounts can defeat their purpose, especially when they're used in more malicious ways, than for a good thing.

I want to expand a bit more about this topic in general because it got me thinking yesterday. I had a talk with a dear friend of mine, who is not part of any fandom, doesn't really understand stan culture, but we know each other for ages and we've both been basically fan girls of bands when we were in high school. And I ended up talking about the damages of stan culture on the internet and what I see in this fandom, specifically about the way death threats and how other fans need to do the reporting and how ultimately and realistically, nothing happens. And I was surprised at how shocked she was because she said, how is it possible for someone, including a public person, to receive multiple death threats and that still continues to happen? How is this not seen as a really serious situation in which someone with authority can do something about it? And I basically said that a lot of the times, these are frustrated girls who only do it for show, they are not actually aware of how bad it sounds and how it became a weaponized word in fandom spaces, just as swearing at another person. And my explanation wasn't enough for my friend, and as she put it "how can so called fans who are not actually fans came make a death threat with no repercussion? John Lennon was shot by a fan in front of his home. That's the reality and a consequence of obsessed people". And I realized that, as much as I think this is such an awful behavior and an incredibly serious issue, I also became "desentisized" in a way because I see almost weekly report accounts, a lot of the times focused on one person in BTS who statistically, gets the most DT, and because it happens that often, it's somehow the "usual", "nothing new under the sun" "to be expected from haters and shippers and you name it. When it shouldn't be. It fucking shouldn't be. In what reality is this ok? In what actual reality these things can happen on a daily basis, in a fandom in which it's ignored by so many people because it's part of shipping issues or whatever else excuse they can find. We are slowly losing our humanity, compassion and being able to truly realize how fucked up everything is. Just because we're used to seeing it, it doesn't mean it's not just as bad. And I don't think that actual serious report accounts can deal with this. Or the fans sending emails to BH. Because one post is deleted, another account is closed and then they pop out again and again. When in fact it's an issue that first of all, should be resolved from the inside. Weverse should be a platform made in such ways that can have an algorithm that automatically identifies such messages and the users banned forever. Twitter, the same, although we all know that due to freedom of speech seen as without consequences at first, anyone can make malicious and violent threats and only then, through countless reporting, the account can be banned.

And I want to circle back a bit to our attitudine, the fandom's attitude. Because I thought of Hannah Arendt's concept of the banality of evil. In which not everyone is evil, but people can be clueless, ignorant and do evil things. I believe that all these awful people who send DT, who fantasize about sexual violence towards the members, are not some amoral masterminds. No, they just do it, as if it's something so banal. And the rest of this fandom has its own part in perpetuating this behavior because they are part of it. Because they will never be able to admit their collective guilt at allowing this current climate to "flourish". We think in individualistic terms and we're not capable of putting the foot down because it would mean we are recognizing that we're part of the problem. Because acting ignorant and saying that we're not like the others doesn't absolve us. It just makes us accomplices.

You all have completely lost it. I'm bisexual myself, and I've always been open about it here. I literally talk about Jimin being queer so much, how am I making it unsafe? Because I said some queer people need therapy and to look for real life role models and stop projecting their sexuality or gender indentity and struggles onto others?

I haven't been on twitter for more than a year, not with a pjm account. I don't know half of what goes on because I just check for some updates and leave. And here, I'm not giving anyone space to be a bigoted pjm or a "mafia daddy" stan. Maybe the twitter users should push back more on that. Me making a commentary on the lack of support or structure around queer people, and how that affects their online behavior is not hate. I know it better than anyone because I grew up in that environment.
