why is midterm season Like This
#I. desperatly need a nap#also the way it’s designed is literally TERRIBLE for long term memory of the content#like there’s no real way to study for ‘three exams in three days and two more next Tuesday’ but cramming#but thanks to the first midterm of the week in my memory and cognition class like CRAMMING DOESNT WORK#mass practice statistically performed worse than distributed practice or studying in short bursts over multiple days in almost every single#so like when shit like this happens everyone is set up for long term failure although short term Might be fine (depends on test and study)#plus other factors like ‘stress fucking up sleep’ messes up performance even more#AND testing like this doesn’t even show great improvement of long term memory! just increases stress levels!#the best way to Actually make people learn would be smaller exams with corrections being a choice post exam#not ‘here take this test it’s over a quarter of your grade’ every day for a week#plus like I took a midterm This Morning I already used all my braincells and now you want me to study calculus??? bro I’m barely functional#just. ugh
