Might post separately later I just wanted to post something here for once.. he’s like my 5th fave character rn and if they stick the landing with star he might become my third fave (I’m sorry but tree and brambleclaw will always take my 1 and 2 spots..) I really want a redemption for podlight even if it’s unlikely, it would be even cooler if he stayed a medicine cat…. Again never gonna happen but let a dude dream…

None of the characters mention it in book but it's made clear that Reedwhisker and Mistystar dying in the same DAY was not at all planned. And i love that detail so much. I feel like it adds such depth to the plan, the mystery through the arc. There was an obvious culprit in splashtail, a surprise villain with curlfeather, accompanying villains who's knowledge and intent as well as direction still aren't fully known with podlight, BUT there was also coincidence. There was a careful plot, one with risks and careful planning before the book even started with clues laid all over, but not EVERYTHING is a clue. In the BEST way

so i like the poem The Owl and the Pussycat, and i wanted to do some wc art to it. i was thinking of characters with the Owl prefix, and then i was hit with the funniest ship possible, Owlnose X Podlight.

before anyone asks, cause i feel like they might, they're not related. yes, they're both Frostpaw's uncles, but opposite ends. (Podlight being Curlfeather's brother and Owlnose being Jayclaw's brother). honestly the fact they're both her uncle is even funnier to me.

like you've got cringefail Owlnose, who couldn't even pretend to be leader, and Podlight who's pretending to be a full medcat and lying about Splashtail. all i can imagine is Podlight starting their relationship with the intention of manipulating Owlnose for whatever reason, and then accidentally falling for this loser lmao

honestly attached to these two together now. they are simply too silly and messy. i'm obsessed

ngl i thought for sure puddleshine was a goner at the end of the moonpool scene where he and frostpaw witnessed splashtail and podlight joking around and admitting all the shit they’d been lying about. i was like “ain’t no way they’re gonna dump all this info, let the unbiased puddleshine hear about it, and let him live” and then they did!!! holy shit! thank god they’re not killing another medic thank god.
