Neue Chance für Chemie Start-ups: Die Brancheninitiative ChemCologne und zahlreiche Unternehmen haben bereits zum zweiten Mal den Chem Start-up Award im Rahmen der StartupCon in Köln verliehen. Die elf internationalen Finalisten konnten sich im Vorfeld gegen zahlreiche andere Teams durchsetzen. Gewinner ist das Start-up PolyLabs aus Lettland. PolyLabs stellt Biopolyole her, die aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen wie Raps oder Tallöl bestehen. Die biobasierten Polyole werden für die Polyurethanindustrie hergestellt und können für Polyurethan-Systemhäuser und Dämmstoffe verwendet werden.

Präventive Wartungslösung gewinnt Covestro-Preis

Auch in diesem Jahr unterstützt Covestro die Initiative der ChemCologne und stiftet als Extra-Preis die Teilnahme an der ersten Data Science-Konferenz der chemischen Industrie, Chemalytix, die das Unternehmen im Dezember in Leverkusen ausrichtet (www.chemalytix.de). „Wir unterstützen die Startup-Szene auf vielen Ebenen, um den Ausbau der Innovation und Forschung weiter zu fördern.
