Tentative Big Bang Schedule

September 28-October 27: Signups Open October 28-November 3: Signup Extension November 13: Writer summaries due + Check in #1 November 18: Summaries posted for artists to look at November 25-December 1: Art claims + Everyone is matched December 2-January 20:Work Period January 21: Final drafts due (at least 80% if no extension) January 22: Posting details sent out + Final check in January 26: Posting begins

We’re going to be comparing against everything else going on, and setting up blogs for Big Bang Derse (18+ participants only! SFW works 100% allowed) and Big Bang Prospit (SFW works only! Participants over 18 100% allowed).

If you have any questions, please let us know! At the moment, we’re considering two tier per big bang: a 10K/two arts tier and a 20K/four arts tier.

Because signups opened so recently, we’re trying not to go overboard on the advertisement—at least until it moves off the front page! Yo Writers! Start revving those summary engines—your basic summary will be due in five weeks, and this is an excellent opportunity to get started on some of your writing as well. Here’s a sample pitch to get you started.

Given that we’re actually kickstarting this stuff, we’re going to increase the “can have written” limits a bit—Obsidian Towers can have 7.5k words done, and Derse Dreamers, you guys can write up to 15k.

How do we submit our pitches?

We’ll be sending out a link to our participants very soon—you’ll be submitting your pitch to a Google Form that will have sections for:

a title (this can be tentative, but we’ll need something to put at the top of your pitch)

ship info (all major ships you’re currently planning to include)

tags (noteworthy info about your fic, such as what kind of AU it is, what happens in it, etc.)

warnings (common triggers, things you think people should be aware of if they decide to take your project on, etc.)

a pitch summary (the MAIN section of your pitch, it’s basically a description of your planned fic—think of it like the AO3 section of a summary, only a bit more in-depth. does not need to be cut and dry, this is the part where you’re trying to hook someone!)

notes (this is the entirely optional more cut and dry part, where you add on any additional information that you think is relevant to your fic)

Once pitch submissions have closed (November 13th, 2018), we’ll be checking them over for missing info or any other issues. Your pitches MUST be completely anonymous. If we think you’re including any potentially identifying information, we will contact you and ask you to edit your pitch accordingly!

On November 18th, we’ll post the pitch submissions to their respective blogs so that artists can look through them! Artists will be able to claim pitches via another form.
