i’m sure it’s been pointed out before but the way that Jackie having sex with Travis is her acting out what Shauna did to her. Taking something that’s not hers; sleeping with a guy who’s in a relationship with one of her teammates. She can’t do what Shauna did to her to Shauna herself, because Shauna doesn’t give a fuck about Travis. But she can be Shauna, casting Nat in the role of herself. Just like Shauna casts Nat as Jackie by giving her the necklace before attempting to slit her throat. The divide between Jackie and Shauna really is so thin. They’re constantly trying to be the other. To see how it feels to be the other.

the wilderness chooses innocence over and over again, laura lee was lotties innocence and helped her then laura lee dies causing lotties breakdown and fall to cult behavior- jackie was shaunas innocence then they turned against jackie and ate her(metaphorically eating their 'leader' and shauna ate jackie becoming her/her innocence)..

shaunas baby was the gangs leading hope that things would be okay but the baby died and shauna and everyone lost the remaining innocence they had, javi technically was travis innocence too travis hoped for javi to come back and when he did he too lost his remaining innocence/hope he had

just realized this upon rewatch and i might be an idiot for not noticing sooner. van’s “therapy” was the only one we didn’t see at lottie’s, but we might have seen what it would’ve been. i think that the man getting buried alive in 2x01 was doing the “forage” treatment. with the parallels to their trauma (mainly shauna and the kid) it would make sense that the person who has had multiple near death experiences and was terminally ill would be “treated” by being buried alive. no wonder van got wasted instead.

I’m catching up on Yellowjackets and from episode one I was looking at Shauna and Jackie’s relationship, and then Jackie and Jeff’s relationship, and I thought “Oh…she’s not into him.”

When Jackie admitted that she didn’t even really like Jeff that much, and when she seemed totally disinterested after fucking Travis, the alarm bells went off.

Shauna’s relationship to Jackie felt like “I love you so much that I want to live inside your skin and be you” which…was basically confirmed when she ate Jackie’s ear in grief.

And then Jackie’s relationship to Shauna felt like “I love you so much that I genuinely will not accept you existing without me.” And that was confirmed when she had a meltdown over Shauna’s developing friendship with Tai (Which was also a lil gay) and the convo about Rutgers.
