I made this so much harder on myself with some of my poor choices, but with perseverance I’m really happy with the result! Things to do differently next time/the aforementioned bad decisions 🤣: I just chose one of the first line-arts I had saved on my computer, which happened to be all small and detailed. I should’ve thought about what I was making and picked a simpler/larger image. I couldn’t made a better decision with which medium I used. I colored her in with poscas but I don’t have any fine point poscas so it got frustrating at times 🤣. Next issue: the next time I do this I’ll cover the entire surface in modpodge, not just where I’m transferring the image. Having it on some parts of the back but not others made the paint take unevenly. Lastly: I was hoping watercolors would make a nice flat stain on the wood, so it would show through, but all the brush strokes showed and it kept lifting when I’d try to build layers😱 I got to the fun blotchey background by leaving puddles of concentrated watercolor on the board and letting them dry for a long time.
