Post-It Note Object Head Gijinka Revamp (Yet again!!)

Now with a merge design!!

I forgot to add the logo this time around, but it's no big deal.

Transparent versions and design explanations under the cut:

Going with my challenge-rule of making my gijinkas distinct from pre-existing ones, I had to use a different outfit… It wasn’t that hard this time around though. The outfit I gave Post-It Note is themed around various forms of stationary….. Which as an artist I am all too familiar with. I added bright, contrasting colors as a nod to the ones seen on the real supplies. Despite those colors, I wanted to aim for a more plain “down to earth” outfit to not only fit the personality, but contrast the elaborate, otherworldly outfit Journal wears.

I don’t like giving every smart character glasses. I felt in this case it would actually fit nicely with the stationary theme…. I also solved this issue by giving various other characters glasses. Anybody can wear glasses… Regardless of personality.

The reason why my Post-It Note gijinka looks exhausted in both iterations is because…. Well, if you had to deal with the amount of bullshit that gets thrown at you across BOTH SEASONS, you would be tired too. One of the things I’ve noticed in rewatches following the merge was that Post-It Note was becoming increasingly worn down over Take 2. “Dungeons and Dimwits” was just the breaking point.

This is also why I gave Post-It Note an outfit for the merge. The color scheme is monochrome, and the clothing more closed off. It still has some of the usual quirks, but you can tell something isn’t right. It’s a good thing a certain scene from “Living on the Edge” gave me the perfect excuse to explain the wardrobe change.

It’s not present here, but my Post-It Note gijinka does have a cane. It’s only used in certain situations, such as physical exhaustion or flare-ups.

OH AND ANOTHER FUN FACT: The lens of my Post-It Note gijinka changes depending on the mood. The colors are, of course, based on colors used for highlighters. I don’t usually like giving ALL smart characters glasses. A LOT of people have glasses in real life, so I feel it’s fair to give it to people of all types. I just thought it would fit the motif I had for the character. I even designed it BEFORE Dungeons and Dimwits came out sooo… There’s that?

Anyway, here’s what each color represents:

Pink- Default or Neutral

Blue-Sad or Scared

Purple- Shocked, Bitter, or Distraught

Orange- Really happy

Red-Angry or Frustrated

Green- Disgusted or Sick

Black- Knocked out or Dead

White- Unclear or that one trope in anime

This design has actually received the LEAST changes of the ?s…. Most of the changes were made for the sake of coherence or clarification on certain details. “Living on the Edge” actually made me conflicted on how to design Post-It Note’s face. I was wondering if I should make the glasses more “cartoony” or make the facial features seem hand drawn(and it shows in some of my 2023 art). In the end, I opted for the latter. It fit more with said abilities, and it brought more opportunities for expression. I changed the body type because I felt the previous design didn’t quite match the idea I had for the character at the time, so I decided to push it further. I tried to make it different from other designs with a similar type. I hope I succeed on that front, at least. I tend to change designs every so often, so I’m impressed with how only a select few have gotten more than 2-3 redesigns. Journal is the only one I can’t make up my mind with, and that’s partially because I can’t settle on how I should stylize his hair. I don’t see myself making changes for the majority of them beyond minor tweaks, but who knows? As time passes, maybe I’ll change my mind. As it stands, I’m content with how most of them turned out.

Note: The reason why Post-It Note's mouth looks different between the two is because I redid the mouth, but accidentally merged the other one to the merge design(lol). Given that Post-It Note there is supposed to look tired, I kept it in.
