since i've been kicking it around in my head tell me how you settled on Elik's design???? also hi shuuuu i love youuu

(For context, this is my Elik fan design!)

I decided to make him an Ice student since Elik's edge is an important place for the Ice school. For the frost giant quest, you take some water to Kelvin, then go to Elik's Edge and throw it off into the abyss (just like a certain Someone we know who jumped off the edge...).

And this is just me personally, but I've always pictured Ice students as troublemakers, tricksters, and just all around silly, mischievous pranksters! And of course, we know the infamous Elik is a notorious student known for stealing relics, which leads me to believe he's somewhat an adrenaline junkie who leaps before he looks.

Despite the reputation for troublemaking, I've also always admired Ice students and thought they were very cool ;) and elegant! Their gear is always so lovely looking, with delicate frost and snowflakes, but still tanky and powerful like glaciers. To reflect that, I added some elegance to Elik's gear! It's partially based on the original new wizard robes, the Raiment of Winter's Reign, and the Icewind Glade Winterwaps!

My version of Elik is a snarky, kind of stupid, impulsive, and snooty wizard who lives for the thrill of the chase, stealing priceless artifacts and going on crazy chases through the Spiral. He's annoying, rude, and full of himself, but he's also kind (in a clumsy way) and he cares deeply about the history and development of Ice magic. He's like that cousin that you kind of hate, but you can't help but love him.

Loveable idiot, that he is!

(I also never came up with a last name for him, but I kind of like toying with the idea of Elik Frostblade- maybe he was so innovative with Ice magic that he invented or revolutionized the Frost Blade spell, and it was named after him...)
