tired of seeing people be stupid abt mental illness and symptoms btw "omg but everyone does that!!" yeah dipshit the point is that it reaches a pathological level and impedes functioning to a noticeable degree. everyone gets nervous but anxiety disorders exist for a reason, being sad sometimes is normal but depression is another level, etc. etc. I could go on with every other mental condition

#unrelated but im a believer in labels being mainly utilitarian #classifying conditions in terms of symptomology and/or other traits serves a purpose #diagnosis should be a tool and nothing more #ppl are too dramatic abt self-dxing sometimes like ie self dxing something like depression thats extremely common and comorbid with like #400 diff things. isnt really a big deal. its not that hard to tell if youre depressed or even anxious. ofc there could be several causes #and etc. but its like... again dxing is a tool anyway it should give you a lead as to what to do so if its beneficial who cares #just blegh talk to professionals but also dont be scared to do your own research
