It’s Day 13 of the #21daysofcalm with a #meditation on #mindfulness of your body. I recall doing an exercise like this in a program by @jonathanmead where you’d sit (or in the case of Jonathan’s routine lie down) and slowly scan through the entire body, just seeing what you’re feeling bit by bit. And it’s a great exercise, where you pay attention a little at a time to the various parts of your body. Basically you just take some time to see what it’s telling you. 👂🏻 We get so wrapped up in the stresses and tasks of the day that we frequently lose touch with our bodies. We don’t feel those little nagging aches and pains till it’s too late, and they’ve suddenly blossomed into our being overweight. Or immobile. Or in pain. 👀 Listening to our bodies once in a while, either via an activity or in an exercise/meditation like this can clue us in that something is wrong. Or that something is right! We can take action to alleviate an issue early on instead of letting it become chronic. But we have to take the stance of #mindfulness about our bodies and not just cover up pain with NSAIDs or other self-medication. There’s a ton we can and should do to take care of ourselves a little bit at a time.
