One of Jaskier's favorite things about Oxenfurt was having the chance to catch up with two of his closest friends- Priscilla and Essi.

They spent the whole winter together, and it made Jaskier realize even more just how much he missed them. But right now, while they were sitting together in a tavern, Jaskier's mind was someplace else.

The thing is, Geralt was supposed to arrive at Oxenfurt two days ago.

He didn't.

It was the second year of their relationship, and the first winter they spent apart. Jaskier promised to teach a few lectures here and Geralt had urgent matters up in Kaer Morhen. It was with heavy heart that they parted ways, agreeing to meet up in Oxenfurt exactly three months and two weeks later.

It's been three months and sixteen days, and Geralt wasn't here yet.

Essi and Priscilla spent the first part of the evening trying to calm Jaksier's nerves. They were good friends and Jaskier appreciated their efforts, but there was nothing that could distract him from his thoughts about the Witcher.

Seeing there was no use, his friends proceeded to chat idly between themselves, gossiping about the nobles and sons-of-nobles surrounding them.

At some part of the evening, a particular young man approached their table. Essi and Priscilla almost gasped in shock and amusement, when the man started shamelessly flirting with Jaskier. Jaskier gave him a polite smile and a half of an excuse, making it clear that he wasn't interested.

Once the man walked away, Essi playfully bumped their shoulders together. "Listen. I'm not saying you should go and have a little fun with someone here-".

Jaskier raised both eyebrows at her. "But".

"But I hate seeing you like this. Listen, first of all, I'm sure that Geralt's okay".

"You don't know that." Jaskier muttered, mostly to himself.

"He's fine" Priscilla added, staring at Jaskier with a worried look in his eyes. "Maybe he got busy with something on his way here?".

"Yeah," Essi nodded. "Or maybe he just decided to be a dick. Either way, I'm sure he's fine. I understand why you're upset, but maybe, you know... He just wasn't the one for you".

Jaskier sighed, glancing at the door for the hundredth time that night. "Can we please change the subject?".

"I'll tell you what I've decided." Priscilla said, raising her glass. "Next time some arsehole breaks my heart, I'll make sure that he's at least some spoiled noble's son. If true love is total nonsense, at least I'll get a new pair of boots from it".

"I'll drink to that!" Essi laughed, raising her glass, too. Jaskier chuckled, rolling his eyes fondly. Little did he know, in a little less than a year, his two best friends will confess their love for each other.

But right now, all Jaskier could think about was Geralt. He already planned to leave first thing tomorrow morning and go looking for him.

And so when finally, a familiar figure walked through the door, the smile on Jaskier's face could've lit up the whole city.

There, standing amongst all the nobles and bards and well-dressed folks, was the Witcher. With his black, dirty armor, and his two huge, scary-looking swords, and his long, messy, silver-white hair and his big, amber eyes and his small, adorable frown. There was his Witcher.

Jaskier literally jumped off his chair the moment he saw him.

"GERALT!".

The second Geralt noticed him, his face broke into a huge grin, and he dropped his bags to the floor, outstreching his arms. He let out a soft oof sound as Jaskier crashed into his chest.

They started kissing, hugging and caressing each other's faces, all while talking in hushed voices.

"You came back".

"Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?".

"I don't know. I was worried. I missed you".

"You didn't really think you could get rid of me that easy, did you?".

"Shut up. Are you hurt?".

"No, I'm fine". A kiss on the forehead. "And I missed you, too. Are those your friends?".

"Yeah. I want you to meet them, they're really amazing".

"Hmm. They're staring at us and giggling".

"Please ignore that. Let's head back to my rooms? You sir, are in need of a bath".

"Mind letting me have an drink first?".

"Pff. Priorities. Fine, I'll buy you a drink. But then I'm dragging your ass back to my place".

Geralt grinned again. "That doesn't sound too bad".

Jaskier took Geralt's hand in his and led him towards the bar. Geralt leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to the top of Jaskier's head.

Essi chuckled, watching them and shaking her head fondly. "Forget the nobles, Pris. That's the kind of relationship I want".

"The "two idiots in love" type?"

"Exactly".

Okie this is totally random but for 🔥opinion; i think 'I need a hero' song cover played in Shrek 2 is much better than the original sung by Bonnie Tyler. Same goes for the 'Single ladies' played by Liza Minelli in Sex and the City 2. I don't like the Beyonce version.

I agree about 1st one so much. That song and whole sequence is just ICONIQUE.

Idk about 2nd I don’t like that song too much either way
