How did Rick Riordan get away with writing a relationship based on Achilles and Patroclus and make them besties who aren't gay cause look they both have boyfriends!

The stark difference in how the relathionships were written too???Like at least Charlena was cute and healthy and felt natural(and i'm a black Silena truther so they're bi4bi t4t and black4black <3)while Chri///sse was...well,the polar opposite.It says a lot that the thin girly girl in the relathionship had a perfectly good male love interest while the fat and buff tomboy was given a crush on a boy with zero build up that feminized her to suit him more.It was so fucking gross and he didn't even need to canonize Ruegard cause i understand that it was the late 2000s so it would've been hard to get a wlw relathionship into a children's media but there was no reason to no homo them,he could've just made it ambigious and then confirm it on twitter when it was more accepted like it is now!I would've been happy with that but instead Rick chooses not give rep😒

'Luke is gay-coded' All he did was be a cis dude crushing on wlw who're were also minors(Annabeth and Thalia),gr//oomed another one(Silena)and you can't pull the 'so misogynistic it's gay' card because him and Ethan have zero romantic subtext to their dynamic and speaking as a genderfluid and bigender person who's friends with several transfems,Percy is very obviously a trans woman who would've come out before the og series even ended if Rick understood his characters so Rick accidentally writing him as being attracted to her just solidifies that he loves preying on underaged queer girls specifically.'Gay-coded' my gay ass,Señor Castellan was nothing but a craddle robber and a colonizer(That's what the c in his last name stands for)
