headcanon that Tails was still teething when Sonic found him on Westside Island. Because Tails is like four years old if I’m remembering correctly. A whole ass baby. So Sonic let Tails chew on his gloves when the pain got bad. And so for months, Sonic’s gloves were torn up, not from fighting or scavenging for food, but because he wanted to be sure his little brother had something to work him through the process of growing his canines.
