dani’s comfortably dissolving into the couch, spoon buried deep within a pint of mint chip ice cream with an episode of some trash tv show blaring in front of her. “how could you tell?” a weak smile. she’s never really been one to go asking for help, but somehow eli always knows when to offer. “you’re the best, you know that?”

Bruce chuckled, shaking his head, "I promise we can avoid that tonight, alright?" He gave his nephew a comforting pat on the back, "I've taken care of plenty of cranky babies," though... Rini did have quite a pair of lungs, "we got this, Eli."

she almost leaps off the couch into his arms, sinking into the hug with a sigh of relief. “what would i do without you?” she murmurs, shaking her head. as they collapse onto the couch again, hands wrap around her ice cream mock-defensively. she clicks her tongue, eyes sparkling playfully. “you’re too late to the party, eli. ‘s all mine.” just a simple moment of affection between them and dani already felt worlds better, enough to make jokes at eli’s expense again.
