How you became a storm wizard
At first you were ice. They assessed you, and determined that you were a perfect ice student. Lydia GreyRose was kind, teaching you spells, always encouraging you like an old grandmother. Shortly after moving to Wizard City you met a life student, blonde, pretty, and so full of life. You know why she was so full of life. She drained you of yours. One day she sent you on a quest, to go meet a monster of Ice. You were particularly cold that day, and it confused you, because the cold seemed to bother you today. The creature appeared, but not right away as it should have. Your anxieties arose, but were subdued when the snake finally appeared. It spoke to you, telling you about Ice and its magic, but there seemed to be a hint of doubt in its voice. You continued anyway, learning the magic easily.
It came upon you one day, the realization that your were not a girl, that you were not a boy, and that you should tell your date-mate. She told you you were faking, and that she liked you as a girl. You realized you were gay. Suddenly she was a guy. You had hallucinations, so did she. The spells grew more difficult, but you still had no problem with them. One day you almost killed yourself. You wanted to fall off of the world, but the magic barrier was there, and you couldn’t. So you used a fire spell you knew, and tried to cast it upon yourself. They encouraged you, as the flames licked greedily at your flesh.
A fellow student came and saved you. Ryan Ironward. You had only seen them for an instant, but it made you realize that people shouldn’t be treating you as your partner did. You spent weeks in your dorm crying, not attending classes, not doing quests. And then you decided to dump them. It was traumatic, how they continued to enforce their power over you, claiming only they could heal you, make you feel worthy, and how you wouldn’t live if you left them. so you stayed with them for a few days “just as friends”. There were things going on that friends didn’t do. They made you feel on fire, they hurt you, and you hated how you felt without her. You managed to cut yourself off from her. And then your magic turned.
You could no longer control your creatures, and the cold temperatures of the classroom hurt like needles in your skin. Your skin started to freeze over, patches and patches over the course of weeks. And then they came back. Ryan Ironward knew what was happening, a dramatic change happened with you, and now the magic of Ice was rejecting you. You were losing your magic, and all the mana was depleting from your body, and this was what would really kill you. They took you to Headmaster Ambrose, and he had seen it before. He told you to no longer practice another spell of Ice, and to go find a different magic, quickly. They took you to the Storm school. You don’t know how they got it right.
You learned the first storm spell, and practiced it. It didn’t feel as familiar as Ice, but it didn’t hurt. The patches of ice on your skin began to melt. You could feel energy welling up inside you. You learned another spell, and began to melt even more. You could feel sparks welling up inside you, and The Mark of Ice started to hurt, to freeze, to burn so cold. This lasted several days. Ryan would take you to the storm school. On the fourth day The Mark of Ice began to hurt less, and when you woke up on the fifth day it was nothing but a white scar. When you looked in the mirror you were blank. That night you woke in a paroxysm of agony. Something, some energy was searing through the skin of your thigh. you limped to your mirror, and saw The Sign of Storm, freshly seared on your thigh, glowing with energy. You were a Storm student now.
That night was your transformation. You cut your light blue hair, and when you were messing up your bangs, you saw your roots turning a dark violet. You cast out your old clothing, and brought out some spares from your bank. in the morning Ryan came to visit you, and when they saw your hair they grabbed a pair of scissors and fixed it for you. You told them you needed a new name. You couldn’t be Lauren Ravenflame anymore. They helped you, and you decided upon Cass Dreamthief, which seemed fitting. Later that day you two went to Headmaster Ambrose, and, without a question, he changed your name on all the rosters.
Soon you learned many more storm spells, and when you summoned the Storm Lord he had no hint of doubt in his voice. You chose Death as your secondary school. You still visit the other professors, and at first Professor Greyrose had a hint of sadness you her voice. Now however, she has the sound of hope, the hope that you will continue to do well in Balestorm’s classes.
Your violet hair has grown in, and you’ve worn binders everyday, your body slowly working more magic on itself. You care less about what others say, and you swore to always wear your favorite badge. You’re now a Student of Storm, and your name is Cass Dreamthief, Hero of Unicorn Way.
