Here are some select clips of the interview video I made answering all y’all’s burning questions about my artistic practice 😍. I made this to accompany my IRL show at @sleepycyborggallery in Houston, Texas as an easily accessible virtual component to the exhibition (made a priority due to COVID). Anytime I mentioned an artist, I’ve overlaid text with the artist’s name written since mispronunciation is likely 😬. I hope to do more of these videos in the future! 🥀THE 🌼 PROUD🌻LATE🌸BLOOMER🌷 • One of the 2 poster designs for my solo show opening on Thursday in Houston, Texas @sleepycyborggallery ! The original Misguided Love pages will be on view as well as 4 pages of “deleted scenes” that I ended up cutting from the final 41-page sequence. I felt like I had to end it at 41 pages since my page-goal was 40. I allowed myself an additional one-page allowance... I knew if I went beyond 41, there wasn’t going to be any end to it. 45 pages would’ve become 50, and 50 to 60... I would’ve never been finished with it otherwise! I have so many thoughts!!!! It’s never ending!! Anyway, those amazing pages will be on display as well as my entire postcard series! I’m really excited about those being on view because they’ve never been shown all together in the same place before. The Misguided Love pages and the postcards seemed like the most logical pairing since the postcards and drawings on the postcards are all from the stories and cities that I mention in my Misguided Love story. Anyway I’m so excited! Even though it’s corona-time, it’ll be cool. Thanks so much to @i5a63l for organizing this and managing the install!! Oh yeah, there will be a stack of the @fantagraphics NOW #9 books available for sale at the gallery so you can take Misguided Love home with you, along with all the other fabulous artists featured in the issue.
