What isn't shown in these is her struggling at first to keep focus because she heard a kid talking excitedly about "a doggy!" What isn't shown, is this was her second time in a food court, and she got too excited about walking to our table with my ice cream, and me getting flustered to the point we nearly left... until I realized this is a training moment. And that's the thing - social media shows a moment in time and not the whole story. A lot of handlers I've spoken to, they worry their dog isn't up to par with what they see online, when in reality the dog is just fine. (Even posting this I'm a bit anxious.) Service dogs aren't robots. They will not be perfect. They will make mistakes. The important thing is to work through the rough moments, and keep training. So my advice is focus on you and your dog as a team, work through the rough moments, and never be afraid to ask for help. I don't know how I got sick again so quickly, but here we are. Cody makes one of the best cuddle buddiies and he loves my weighted and my heated blankets just as much as I do. Thankfully my board and train puppy (Stella) is VERY easy and well behaved. Patty has been enjoying having a "new baby" to mother. She and Dime both love the younger dogs that they can play with.
