I’ve been ahead of schedule with my art fight attacks which has left me with a fair bit of breathing room for personal art, taking care of myself, and having a few days were I can take a break to relax. I’ve still been having a lot of fun despite my worry about burn out, and I’ve met a lot of cool artists with even cooler ocs that I gat to draw! And even though getting a ton of free art is cool, my favorite part about art fight is reading the comments you all leave behind about how much you love my work. If I can make one person is day a little brighter, then that’s good enough for me to keep on drawing. ☺️

Adopted today, beautiful male red and purple veiltail betta with swim bladder disease. Struggles to swim upright without sinking to the bottom of tank. Will post updates on his healing.

Argh! During the fireworks last night, I laid down on the floor with Hypnos to try to calm him down. It worked, but it also caused my back and hip to spasm (again), so today's going to be an uncomfortable day for me. 😩 . . . Unfortunately, today's the day I'm supposed to start setting things up for the Toledo Lighthouse Festival. Fortunately, husband is going to help me. This is Athea, I named her after the marshmallow plant that has mauve colored flowers. She is way more purple than this picture plus the light that came with the tank is trash. Athea & Ariel did NOT get along through the tank/cup meeting so I had to scramble to get my 5g tank running. New substrate, plants from other tanks and Magic the snail from the goldfish tank. I love betta fish; they're absolutely lovely and have such personalities. Around ten years ago, I had a red one named Akane (which means "deep red" in Japanese, because I am very creative). That was unfortunately at the time where most of the information I read said I didn't need a full tank set up for him. So, while I did what I thought was best, I wasn't really giving him the best care. Here are some more tiny aquarium experiments. The two in the first picture are made with transparent clay, which looks really cool, but unfortunately kind of disappears when resin is applied to the thin parts. The second picture shows a piece made with a transparent clay mixed with a color, which I really like!
