had an apple moon thought about Queen Celestia I wanted to draw out, because I never want her to have like a Nightmare Moon equivalent but I do want some kind of physical change to represent her coming apart close to the end I was thinking something like this. She no longer cares to maintain her physical form and all the colours run together in a plasma-like smear.

To celebrate the 7th anniversary of the first Trolls movie, I made a portrait of Queen Rose as a baby with her grandma, Queen Celestia. Rose held her grandparents in high regard because Celestia was the one who raised her when she hatched out of the egg. Her father, whose whereabouts are unknown, is the only son among six sisters and her grandfather died before her father vanished.

Formerly Lady Celestia, she was born the second child and raised in a noble family. In her teenage life, Celestia was agreed to an arranged marriage with the prince, who would later become the king of the platinum trolls. Deciding to bring her family honor, she went on to marry the king and rule at his side as Queen consort. At some point, Celestia and the king had one daughter, who refused the throne, and one son, Rose’s father, which were later followed by four younger daughters. Prior to the events, Celestia became the ruler and sole ruler of the Platinum Tribe after her husband died and the future king vanished without a trace. A few months later, Celestia found Rose’s egg in the castle gardens. She took it in and cared for the egg until it hatched, revealing Rose, who has a huge resemblance of her son. Thus, Rose became the sole heir and crown princess of the Troll Kingdom.

Princess Rose had a loving relationship with her grandmother and they shared the deepest wish to unite the troll tribes together. With her guidance and training, Rose grew to be a well-rounded princess that she is and she becomes determined to fulfill Celestia’s wish, which finally came true when she finally became queen after her grandmother’s death and so many months of being on the run.

Since I HC Rose’s VC to be Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson a.k.a H.E.R, I kinda HC Celestia’s VC to be Diana Ross.

Luna’s Denial

Sometimes I think about Celestia and Luna’s young warrior princess implications. They truly were implied to have brought Equestria from a patch of kingdom to a full land of plenty. They drove out villains that are so ethereally old and evil that they consistently come back because the princesses alone couldn’t kill them, just push them back. One of them straight up went evil because she sat in darkness for too long and it made her super depressed and had a full villain arc and Celestia had to wait till a princess of prophecy and friendship showed up so she could get the elements of harmony from the tree and convince her sister it wasn’t too late to come back and she still loved her. Luna, unlike Celestia, seems to not be growing like her sister did. You can liken that to claiming that only the ruler will grow, that’s how you know which princess is queen, but in all honesty, Luna is one of the smallest. She should be as big as Celestia but cursed herself with her own nightmares.

I’m. So. Obsessed with little tidbits of their background. Every time a big bad shows up Celestia is ready to fight even if she has to figure out the solution first. Every OTHER time a big bad shows up she straight up says ‘yeah we kicked that guy’s ass when we were kids idk why he back lmao took a while to lick his wounds’ and it’s so wild to me. And she and Luna always got the most fucked up villains.

Rosita Barbara “Rose” Madrigal is really close to her grandmother, Celestine “Celestia” Madrigal because she is the only one who raised her when she was mysteriously found in the doorstep of her mansion and her parents mysteriously vanished. Rose took after her a lot in many ways but she had some traits she interacted from her unseen Blasian father, who is Celestia’s son and her Filipino mother.

Celestia lived in her mansion with her three younger daughters, with the older three including her father moved out but she soon received a blessing when Rose came into her life. Despite growing up surrounded by the women in her family, Rose looked up to Mr. Mercury and his partner, Jim as her father figures and she would meet Senator Peppy, the Rivera family, when she and Celestia run into them when they go out.

She also supports Rose of her dreams of fame and fortune but she makes sure that her granddaughter is physically and mentally prepared in order for her to face the world of celebrities and it’s harsh reality so she was trained in different martial arts and self defense as well as teaching her life lessons that come in handy while balancing school life and everyday life. It was worth it when she joined her best friend Poppy and the Snack Pack and she becomes the levelheaded de facto leader of the group.
