Went to see the new Star Wars movie yesterday. 

Apart from the feeling that the script was written by a random dialogue simulator, and them glued together to make stuff feel kinda in continuity, the ending was the laziest tiredest way to resolve a redemption arc. 

Maybe, just maybe, we could start to uhhhhh have people live the outcomes of their bad decisions and maybe grow and heal. Get help. Start therapy. I feel like we are so high on “then perish” attitude that we forget to be kind to each other. 

As weird as the ending was, in some way it felt true, and it’s mostly because of Rey. Her inner imperative of kindness is what makes her a good protag. We can all learn a thing or two from Rey even if she did feel hamfistedly wise at times

Seriously though, I kinda wish now for a post/fix-it fic, in which Ben goes out to live his life and find peace with himself, while being the best disaster Solo self he can be with his gf
