What's your opinion on knock-off jewelry and knock-off handbags? I'm lusting over the Celine Luggage Tote and the Hermes H enamel bracelet but there is no way I can afford either item for a long while. While I usually would just go ahead and purchase something I REALLY want, like the bracelet, I don't wear jewelry that often and in this case I don't know if I will get enough bang for my buck. In this case would you recommend just going with a knock off, or should I wait for the real thing?

I'm against fakes as a whole for a plethora of reasons - they're tacky, they're poor quality, they're stealing from the designer, the people (and children) who make them are treated poorly and given very small wages, and at the end of the day, they're just not the real deal. Let me give you two scenarios: say you buy a fake Hermes clic clac and it arrives. Chances are, it will look very similar to the real thing and it will be hard to tell if it's fake. But every time you look down at it, it will be your replica bracelet. Every time someone compliments you on it, you smile uncomfortably - do they think it's real? Do they not? What do you say? It won't be a source of happiness for you and you won't appreciate it to nearly the same degree, whereas if you save up for it, the accomplishment of finally buying it will be so satisfying. Every time you look down at it, it will be rewarding - this is an authentic, beautiful Hermes bracelet that YOU managed to save up for and managed to buy with your own money. The counterfeit will provide you with only counterfeit happiness, and it will be fleeting. Wearing something fake would personally make me very uncomfortable because I would know it was fake. If you buy an Hermes bracelet, you can pretty much wear it for the rest of your life. Same with a good designer bag. A counterfeit is very likely to fall apart within a short while. Perhaps instead of splurging on such an expensive bangle you could get a cheaper one that's not a fake?

Here are some suggestions: a spade bangle by Kate Spade (they come in a variety of colors), Kate Spade bow bangle, Marc by Marc Jacobs logo bangle (here's a similar one)....there are lots of great alternatives! :) I hope this helps you!
