Finished the next one. I had to round up a lot in my yardage because I could only get the fabric in 1 or 2 yard packages. for tonights #quilterproblems I’m managing to sit here making myself more and more enraged that I can’t enter a quilt contest because I’m being too creative. I get WHY they have the guidelines, but the more i think about it, the more stupid it gets. I’m doing a quilting challenge, we’re all given the same blocks and in the end you can submit it to win prizes. I GET then that you need to follow the blocks, we’re all supposed to be doing the same. But I don’t create that way. They’re MOSTLY the same blocks, but I see the design and I say, hey I think I want this to look a little different. its the same object and mostly the same block, but with my tweaks. and those tweaks apparently disqualify me so i either need to remake or not enter. The current disqualifying tweak: the block is a sailboat and i changed it from 4 separate sails to 1 sail with a mast (in my opinion, way cuter). I thought of redoing for the 4 sails but the way I’ll redo it STILL isn’t the exact patterns way. And I just realized even if I make the boat “properly” theres also a whale block I changed sooo.....(blue whales have white bottoms, I felt it needed to be accurate and made the bottom part white. I’m not sure yet if that also disqualifies me or if its close enough to count)
