no offence but if h*rry p*tter is your 'comfort media' you should probably examine what it is about its status quo underlying philosophy that is so comforting to you
#quit affirming conservative world views through the guise of children's literature .... im begging u#also just the concept of comfort media is so annoying in this context#like there's a lot said these days about enjoying a work of art despite the prejudices of the author/creator#and like even examining those prejudices and taking them into account when you try to understand the text/piece#and i read classics and love romantic and renaissance art so i understand that#but she is still alive and being ACTIVELY harmful TODAY#putting the money YOU are spending on her towards specifically transphobic things#and more to the point#how can you know these things#and reckon with how terrible they are#and still find a piece of work created by the person who is doing these terrible things and take COMFORT#like. COMFORT. not enjoyment. COMFORT.
