Watcher supposedly kidnapped everyone to get parental advices, since it knew many of the islanders were parents and it suddenly had children (little buddies) out of nowhere. But then it changed its mind, said "Hey wouldn't it be funny if I tortured everyone instead?" and didn't wait for an answer
