Tumblr media
Kranti Movie OTT Release Kranti movie belongs to the action drama genre, and it is filmed under the direction of V. Harikrishna in a Kannada language. The movie is produced under Media House Studio by producer B. Suresha with Shylaja Nag. The Cinematographer for the movie is Karunakar. A, and it is edited by Prakash Karinja. After the excellent response to the Kannada movies like Charlie 777, KGF, Kantara, and now Kranti – Kannada film industry can become the next big thing in the near future Kranti movie is starring Darshan Thoogudeepa, Rachitha Ram, and V Ravichandran, and their fans from Karnataka and all over India are drooling over the release of the movie. The box office collection shows that movie is doing wonders at theatres, and fans are loving their performances in the movie. The other star cast of the movie includes Sumalatha, Tarun Arora, Sampath Raj, P. Ravi Shankar, Achyuth Kumar, B. Suresha, Sadhu Kokila, Girija Lokesh, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Umashree, Samyukta Hornad and others with minor roles in the movie.
Plot Chief of Salatri Group (Tarun Arora) wants to takeover 12,000 government schools and privatise them. The ministers are hand-in-glove with him. Now, only a revolution (Kranti) can stop this.
Review Kranti Rayanna (Darshan Toogudeepa) is a successful entrepreneur living in Europe. His choppers, fancy cars and lake-view house indicate that he is a larger-than-life persona. He soon gets a call from his teacher (B Suresha), inviting him to attend the centenary celebrations of the government school back in India. Darshan, who has been away from home for over 20 years, over his father’s diktat, finally returns to homeland. On the day of centenary celebrations, the government school comes crashing down to the ground. The onus is now on Kranti to uplift not just one government school, but also all the government schools in the state. The film is very predictable from the beginning and has a very formulaic approach towards the screenplay. The first half of the film is spent in introducing characters and giving out statistics about the plight of government schools in state. The second half is about how Kranti manages to win the war against the Salatri Group.

Top 5 Music Albums in Hindi Films from 2018
January 6, 2019
by Inakshi Chandra-Mohanty
1. Amit Trivedi - Manmarziyan
Tumblr media
In a year when Amit Trivedi presented music for over 10 films, Manmarziyan is a clear winner. Consisting of 14 songs, including the unplugged version of Daryaa, this album has soul, passion, angst, and love. The film begins with the soft Grey Wala Shade, which not only sets the mood for the film, but also introduces the passionate affair of Rumi and Vicky in the heart of Amritsar. The film then transitions to F for Fyaar, which is a Punjabi rap representative of Vicky’s personality and his desire to be a ‘cool dude.’ Later, the peppy song Dhyaanchand, also shows off Vicky’s eccentricity as he dances following Rumi through the inner streets of Amritsar. Robbie’s grey shades are also represented through music, with Sherni, depicting his need to possess Rumi, and Bijlee Giregi, acting as a background to his conflicting feelings, when his trust is broken. There also exist some beautiful romantic, soothing numbers, such as Sacchi Mohabbat, Jaisi Teri Marzi, and Choonch Ladhiyan, which are used to express the growing love amongst all three characters, thus making the love triangle even more complicated. And lastly, there is the powerful and soulful Daryaa, which is the most important song of the film as it represents Rumi’s fickle emotions, which form the basis of the film. With a great quantity of songs, one would expect a few songs to be of lower quality. However, the beauty of this album is that every single song is crafted to fulfill a role in the film, hence making it the best album of the year.
2. Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua, Alif - Laila Majnu
Tumblr media
The essence of Laila Majnu lies in its music. No tragic romance is complete without a set of heartbreaking melodies. The soundtrack of this film is unique because it is difficult to emotionally connect to it without the context of the plot and the picturization of each individual song in the vast hills of Kashmir. However, after completing the film, it is impossible to remove these soulful, melancholic melodies from the heart. The music is a supplement to the ongoing love story between Laila and Qais (Majnu) on screen, highlighting the strength and audacity of their love to withstand obstacles in the form of their family, separation, distance, and everlasting wait. Songs like Tum and Sarphiri, signify the transition from Laila’s initial curiosity to slight attraction, eventually leading to true love. On the other hand, there are Aahista and Hafiz Hafiz that focus entirely on Majnu and his transcendental craziness due to the increasing loneliness, once he has grown tired of waiting for Laila. Each and every song represents a different form of the powerful love between them, which is even more necessary when translating a classic, epic, romantic tale. There is also my favorite song of the year, the absolutely addictive O Meri Laila, which consists of classical rawness in its most bare moments, but emerges victorious through the rock-style leading stanza that is so beautifully voiced by Atif Aslam.
3. Amit Trivedi - Kedarnath
Tumblr media
Despite having a fewer number of songs in comparison to the other albums on this list, Kedarnath, is able to provide an extremely wholesome album. It is the only one that has five or less songs and yet is still able to encompass a full range of stylistically different tracks. It includes a peppy dance number, Sweetheart, that is reminiscent of the melodic dance numbers that we have forgotten in this era of remakes and rapping. But along with that, it has two beautiful, soothing melodies and a religious track, which delves into the realm of Indian classical music. Amit Trivedi has yet again proven his versatility by providing a set of songs that are so different from one another, yet are able to come together to further enhance this film.
4. Amit Trivedi, Raftaar, Girish Nakod - Andhadhun
Tumblr media
If you are a fan of Sriram Raghavan, you must know that he is obsessed with old Bollywood films, especially those from the 60s and 70s. His films, specifically Johnny Gaddaar and Andhadhun, have contained numerous references to older films. Therefore, while composing this soundtrack, Amit Trivedi paid homage to the classic old film songs. Song like Aap Se Milkar and Naina Da Kya Kasoor carry shades of the melodious numbers from the 60s and 70s. Naina Da Kya Kasoor specifically bears resemblance to the R.D. Burman hit song O Mere Sona from the 60s Vijay Anand film Teesri Manzil. To create balance in the album, he also includes some modern numbers such as the energetic Laila Laila, and the dark Wo Ladki, which uses a full orchestra of instruments to create a magnificent, epic effect. The best part of the music from this film is that all the songs are heavy on piano, unlike most Hindi songs, since the main character is a pianist, and the songs are picturized on him.
5. Rachita Arora, Nucleya - Mukkabaaz
Tumblr media
Though Mukkabaaz is at its core a love story, a large part of the film is also devoted to boxing and Shravan Kumar’s passion for it. However, unlike most films dedicated to sports, this one delves into the dark side of the sports selection process. Hence, the songs are a reflection of this theme as they are both motivating, to create a driving force for Shravan’s passion, and hard-hitting, to reflect the grim state of the sports industry in India. Songs like Paintra are jarring, as is Nucleya’s signature style. On the other hand, songs like Bahut Hua Samman are there for motivation, while a song like Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye signifies the love between the two characters without delving away from the overall tone of the remaining songs.

Har Kisse Ke Hisse: Kaamyaab Movie Review: This one’s for all the ‘sidekicks’ in Bollywood
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/har-kisse-ke-hisse-kaamyaab-movie-review-this-ones-for-all-the-sidekicks-in-bollywood/
Har Kisse Ke Hisse: Kaamyaab Movie Review: This one’s for all the ‘sidekicks’ in Bollywood
STORY: Back in the 80s and 90s, Sudheer (Sanjay Mishra) was an ‘aloo’ – a moniker given to character actors – and while he has enjoyed his fair share of popularity for his larger-than-life roles, Sudheer is now a recluse. However, an unsuccessful video interview with the media stirs up old memories and instils a new ray of hope in his heart, to reach a new benchmark and face the camera, even if it is for one last time.
REVIEW: Once a household name, and known for his eccentric portrayal of some of the most outlandish characters Indian cinema has ever witnessed in the golden era of Bollywood, Sudheer knows he’s been moderately famous. But, ‘the old man’ has now accepted his fate – his prime days, as a character artiste, are long over. A widower, living alone in his family home and drowning himself in alcohol, Sudheer shows very little interest when an enthusiastic broadcast journalist shows up for an interview with the ‘Forgotten Stars of Bollywood’. The journalist also requests him to mouth his iconic dialogue – ‘bas enjoying life, aur koi option thodi hai.’ But, a mere piece of paper highlighting his career graph (which she sources online), grabs his attention and he realises that he gave up on acting just one film short of his 500th movie. Apprehensive and out of touch, an avid Sudheer conjures up the strength to chase his newfound dream and hit the movie studios one last time before hanging his boots. But, with the industry undergoing drastic changes over the years – both in terms of acting and its treatment of character actors – how will he find his feet in what now seems like an alien world?
‘Kaamyaab’ cherry-picks the fascinating and lesser known world of character actors (aka ‘sidekicks’) and delves deep without generating too much chaos and commotion around it. The tonality of the narrative is light, subtle, funny and emotional. It carefully navigates through the era of 80s and 90s cinema and focusses mostly on the supporting actors of that generation. While the protagonist’s character is sketched in such a way that he has to be over-the-top, there is something about this film that strikes as refreshingly different.
Writer-director Hardik Mehta has beautifully weaved Sudheer’s character, who is an indifferent artiste with a sudden interest in dreams, goals, aims and ambitions and would stop at nothing until he achieves what he’s set out to do. True, the forgotten actor is deeply flawed – an adorably compulsive liar and a chronic drinker – but one’s heart cannot help but melt when the details of his personal life unfold – a wife gone too soon, a loving daughter torn between her love for her father and all the ‘disappointments’ he has put her through. And so, when life presents itself with an opportunity to achieve a personal milestone, Sudheer knows he has to redeem himself and get this one right; one way or the other.
Sanjay Mishra, as the aging and mostly forgotten small-time actor, channelling the inner conflict of a man whose 499th film was a disaster and brought disgrace to the family, is a vision to behold. In hilarious scenes, Mishra wears a poker-faced expression throughout but pitches his dialogues in a way that hit you hard and also tickles your funny bones. In emotional scenes, where he is grappling with the reality of his situation, Mishra totally draws you in with every single expression. Deepak Dobriyal pulls off an excellent portrayal of a former friend-turned-casting director, Gulati, and their camaraderie leaves you in splits. Sarika Singh, who plays his daughter Bhavna, stands out for one scene in particular, where she has an emotional meltdown in front of her father.
Set in the present day, the mood of ‘Kaamyaab’ is 90s – big wigs, flashy clothes, caricature-ish characters, a lot of ‘buddy time’ on sets and some serious loud theatrics. The film’s music, by Rachita Arora, balances the otherwise blaring depiction of the industry with its soothing numbers and barely-there background scores; a perfect fit. Sure, this drama has used Sanjay Mishra’s fall from grace and his subsequent redemption (or the lack of it) as a metaphor for the good-old saying – it’s never too late to chase your dreams – but not once do the writers get preachy about it. The writers deserve brownie points for some witty writing, and keeping things real, too.
At a time when meaningful and nuanced roles are being written for character artistes, ‘Kaamyaab’ is a film that stands out for its story and storytelling. Also, to see veteran actors like Birbal, Avtar Gill, Viju Khote, Ramesh Goyal, Guddi Maruti and others in one frame brings back a glut of emotions – all happy ones.
‘Kaamyaab’ is an ode to Bollywood, the larger-than-life movies and their actors, bizarre wigs, love, drama, friendship passion but most importantly, it is about one’s ability to realise their dreams even when the chips are down. After all, a man’s got to enjoy the madness that is life – ‘aur koi option thodi hain?’

‘Mukkabaaz’ review: A Punch Too Long
In his latest outing, director Anurag Kashyap pulls no punches. Every scene that’s in his lineage of movie making, is powerful; every scene that’s not, and unfortunately, there’s quite some of it, takes away the pace and the tension. Don’t let the posters fool you. Mukkabaaz (The Brawler) isn’t a sports movie, not one where you traverse the familiar arc of a sportsman, as they aspire, perspire,…

The story is very different from other movies…so the songs also had to be different. It’s a beautiful film which is very close to my heart and songs have been created in the same way. SO I created the songs as per the storyline,” Rachita said. Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment has
