Welcome to the end, weary traveler! And, in case you've somehow missed EVERYTHING that happened today: April Fools!

As of this post, I've now officially covered each of the 170+ Raft Ride rips - including some fringe cases - to have been uploaded to the SiIvaGunner channel. Did you have fun taking this trip down memory lane? Find a new Raft Ride favorite? Or, did you focus on the incredible April Fools event currently happening on the main channel as I'm currently writing this? Not that I can blame you - my attention was so split all day, I didn't get anything productive done!! It meant a lot to get to see so many people's reactions to realizing the scope of this whole thing, smiles and fun comments on seeing their favorite raft rides reshared - I'm writing this all just as its all come to an end, and it was so much fun in every sense of the word.

I've now taken off the "Todays SiIvaGunner" and "Season 7"/"Season 8" tags off all of these posts, as to not have them clog up the blog's Archive view (which you should be using!!!). Instead, consider what you're reading now the "masterpost" for helping you navigate the entire Raftmageddon event, as the one post that will show up as April 1st daily post.

It's a really fun twist on one of the most popular Easter Eggs in Link's Awakening - happy late Easter! - and one of the most fun running gags in Nintendo's history in general, honestly. Totaka's song is sort of like Nintendo's own Raft Ride in a way, isn't it? This reoccurring, stupid ditty, just put together by one composer out of sheer boredom, almost eerily similar to where it all began with Raft Foot Creep...and overcast07 arranges it in a really fun way, keeping the suspense from the big jingle the original has, not really leaning too hard into the Raft Ride-iness with its infamous backing or screeching high note - but the note is high althesame, and the melody is undeniably that accursed, beloved tune. What a fun little surprise. What whimsy!! What a fun day today's been. :3

Just like every other person who's played it, I fucking love Stanley Parable, so this was such a good surprise to see, complete left-field idea for a Raft Ride but it works out really well! I love how the high note and the chaos backing just make the whole follow-the-yellow-line tune sound all the more ridiculous than it already was in the original game.

This is one of the first Raft Rides I remember being actually really impressed by and I can't really put my finger on why...I mean, like, the pitch shifted vocals are the biggest sell of course, they're genuinely still really funny just like the prior vocal rips of pop music, but the instrumental manages to fit both Raft Ride and the original song shockingly well at the same time. The rip feels like putting a square peg in a round hole yet making it work absolutely flawlessly into a really fun listen. Banger.

New contender for the funniest Raft Ride rip title. it sounds so fucked to hear Harlem Shake just be melody swapped without any of its specific sounds carried over until the second half. Like...I keep forgetting Harlem Shake even HAS a melody, I've always just processed it as nothing but noise. incredible title

I agree with yhenestik in that we haven't seen John NotWoodman nearly enough in recent times - hell, they weren't even in the DoomFes in Season 6 - so I'm very happy he's just taken it upon himself to insert them into rips on his own. Vote Responsibly!! is a very underrated tune (one that I wrote far too much about in Vote Responsibly!!) and it sounds pretty fun in Raft Ride too, a touch of silliness added by the everpresent backing track that reminds me of the original MIDI-version of the theme. Neat stuff!

Is this actually the first SiIvaGunner rip to just be called "lmao"? That's fucking hilarious if so. Another banger Memmy track name.

I love the sheer cacophany of sources here, yet they all play together really nicely despite having so little in common. Frozen Hillside from Kirby Air Ride is a classic tune - perhaps for me more closely associated with the Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl - and I really like how the AJR song added on top is pitch shifted to it all. At first it didn't even register to me that this WAS Frozen Hillside, it just sounded like a really good pop song and something AJR reasonably could make.

Also LOVE the shout to a classic Season 1 rip with the sandboarding footage and I Smoke Weed - SURELY that, combined with Raft Ride being of a Zelda game and ocean traversal, must be a reference to the classic toonlink rip The Great Weed, right?

Remember how I said back on Willievan Afton Polkka that KnightOfGames was - at that point - behind every single rip using the FNAF song Stuck Inside?

Are you at all surprised to learn that that list also included a Raft Ride rip?

Seriously though, I really love how this turned out. The high note is used right in the place where, in the original song, a high-pitched "YIKES!" squeak is played, and that joke alone felt like it was worth making the rip around. The lower-pitch of the melody works to great effect, and its both still just about as catchy and mildly-spooky as the original despite the far simpler instrumentation. At this point Stuck Inside is here to stay, and I'm very glad it was in part Raft Ride that helped inaugurate it.
