      It was an accident; caused by a particularly heavy bout of rain in the city, dark clouds looming over ominously as if to taunt the Chicago vigilante as he allowed his most precious tool to slip from his grip, clatter to the sidewalk, and then proceed to step on it.

      On accident, of course.

       It still didn't make the faint crunch of the phone screen under his boot any less sickening.

      Cursing under his breath, he bent over to pick it up, happy to see the screen wasn't completely obliterated by his weight. He could fix it fairly easily -- he'd taken apart his phone and put it back together more times than he could count. The sound of someone else's voice caught his attention and looking up as he crouched down, examining his device, revealed it was some teenager grinning in his direction. 

      Aiden rolled his eyes and brushed his thumb over the screen gingerly.

                      "I've got it. Thanks."
