Rattlepaw

Apprentice.

He/they, bisexual.

He is pretty confident in himself and will get the job done when told but has a very hard time paying attention to things and has a bit of a memory issue. Rattlepaw sees Bloodcloak as his father figure, like most other apprentices. He finds Rainpaw to be suspicious though for some reason.

It took him a long time to realize there was even an apocalypse as Rattlepaw was mostly sheltered throughout his life. One day their parents left and just never came back. He was found all skin and bones trying to hunt.

Rattlepaw mostly enjoys watching clouds and talking.

Rattlepaw's mentor is Centipedestar.

He'll be a warrior soon.

This Year's Actions: Had Creekslip attack Butterflyfreckle as punishment for being pregnant with outsider kits; Gave birth to her and Blizzardchase's own first litter (Rain, Hail, Sleet and Snow); Took on her daughter Snowpaw as her apprentice (maybe bec she looks the most like her??); Got herself and Snowpaw into a fight with a large dog, getting Snow injured; Got herself injured in a border skirmish; At the end of the year her mate had their second litter, a single male kit named Peakkit!

Notable Relationships: Still REALLY loves and trusts her mate Blizzardchase; has strong trust for Creekslip and that's it, she just knows Creek will do whatever she says; her favorite daughter is Rainpaw, probably bec the takes after Tempest in motives and personality; her least favorite daughter is Snowpaw, she actually has some dislike for her... what a GREAT mom; annnd Hailstripe, is Tempest's second fave daughter which explains why she made her a warrior early.

This Year's Actions: Attacked Butterflyfreckle on Tempeststar's orders to punish her for being pregnant with outsider kits; Was made deputy after Blizzardchase's retirement (Tempeststar knows that Creek will follow her every command); Received Partridgepaw as an apprentice.

Notable Relationships: Has some romantic like for the Healer Bramblespeck; Has started to befriend Wisp the Healer who joined the clan this year; has some platonic like, respect and trust for her apprentice Partridepaw.

Little backstory: Was a kittypet before joining the clan; her sister joined Roaringclan and bec of this Celeste hung around the clans a lot; Sired Weedpatch with a Roaringclan warrior and her sister had Jaggedheart around the same time; Weed and Jagged then left with the other founders to become Whisperingclan; Celeste didnt come around Roaringclan as much and instead searched for her son; Sired Rattle with another kittypet and raised her alongside them; found out where Weed was and told Rattle about it; Rattle ended up leaving for Whisperinclan, wanting to be a warrior; Celeste would travel to meet her kits at the border once a moon; found out Weed died and decided she needed to join to be there for Rattlepaw. This Year's Actions: announced she was expecting kits with an outsider; was attacked by Creekslip under Tempeststar's orders as punishment; had a litter of three (Partridge, Gull, and Heron); Heronkit died at 4 moons due to kittencough (he was actually accidentally taken too soon by Starclan, Whispering cave shit); was assigned Hailpaw as an apprentice; Gullpaw died due to kittencough one moon after becoming an apprentice; Some how after ALL of this she trained Hail so good she was made a warrior a moon early.

Notable Relationships: Strong platonic like for her daughter Partridgepaw; likes AND dislikes several cats equally??? Skipspot is kinda old compared to Sunmane but if they become a polycule then i'm chill with it, its cute.

I wanted to know what the characters' sexualties were, and I have an idea for Snowfrost being aromantic

The game makes all characters pansexual buuut i do have some headcanons (which could totally be made wrong in the future)

I too agree with the Aromantic Snowfrost. Especially since she and Sleetsong are the only ones who arent involved in the saphic love drama of their generation. Also I love her and I am aro so now she is too.

I think Sleetsong is straight tho, that or smart enough to not crush on Partridge or Rattle lmaooo

I headcanon a LOT of these cats as lesbians... this is probably helped by the clan being majority female but idk.. they just give me lesbian vibes lol

Cavernclan, Year 3, Newleaf ->Yarrowfur has a dream where Locustgaze comes to see her, and tells her to be cautious, that there is danger afoot. Yarrowfur wakes up, and thinks this must have been a dream from Starclan. She catches Leafbite in a lie, and begins to wonder if he’s related to the danger (it’s actually that he was out flirting with an old kittypet fling).  -> Reedburr slips on ice while hunting and twists his paws, and Oaknettle laughs at him

-> Cherryfreckle tries to make amends with Glowfish, and offers to groom her

-> Goldstar and Leafbite bicker, as Yarrowfur told the leader about the tom seemingly lying about his location. 

-> Goldstar, Cherryfreckle and and Talondrift go on a patrol. They find a wounded cat on the surface, having been lost in the tunnels, and collapsed from exhaustion. Alarmed as to why another cat has wandered into their tunnels, and not wanting them to die, they carry the cat back to camp. They are so grateful for being saved, and unable to remember their past, the join the clan. Oaknettle shows a special interest in her. “Matching names!” XD

-> Glowfish, Rattlepaw and Oaknettle go to try and gather herbs. Glowfish is excited for herbs to be returning to the land. She leads the group to a stream on Mossclan territory. They manage to get lucky, and find an abundance of Elder leaves and Juniper. The patrol has an excited air, and they all return with a big bundle of herbs. 

-> Reedbuur retires, as his recent injury has left him with pains, and he’s getting old

-> Glowfish makes Rattlepaw a full Medicine cat: Rattleripple. 

-> Rattleripple has developed a strong connection to Starclan, and can sense their unease

-> Glowfish doesn’t appreciate a joke that Nettleberry makes at her expense, trying to make Oaknettle laugh. Nettleberry apologizes. After all, she owes Glowfish. She’s still recovering from her duties, and is bored, but Oaknettle has been visiting her. 

-> Cherryfreckle and Burntheart go on patrol together, looking for food. They narrowly miss a bird, but Burntheart tells Cherryfreckle he’s proud of her for trying to make amends with Glowfish. 

-> Goldstar takes a long time to choose a new Deputy. The clan is worried this will upset Starclan. Finally, he chooses Burntheart. Most of the clan supports this decision.

-> Oaknettle complains about not being named Deputy, and Nettleberry still finds him amusing.

Rattlepaw was not a stalker. She had a perfectly normal interest in Carnationspeckle and Oilstripe. Why shouldn’t she want her mother to find someone that made her giddy? Oilstripe was the perfect choice! How else could Rattlepaw and Carnationspeckle grow their little family? They deserved more than just one another. They deserved a bigger family. As such, while Rattlepaw practiced a song with Rabbitjoy, she had one ear cocked toward Carnationspeckle and Oilstripe, who were happily sharing tongues before their sunset patrol. Recruiting them to practice dancing for the Harvest Moon had been the perfect plan!

“Mom?” Shadowdrop marched into the camp, scanning for Downstar. The sand caught on his muddy paws, making it look like he had white mittens. “Mom?”

“Fennelspot took Downstar out to exercise,” Rabbitjoy explained, looking over her shoulder at the black tom.

“Well then is Weedfoot around?” Shadowdrop sighed.

“I heard my name!” Weedfoot jogged out from the dirt place. “I’m here, I’m here. Hi, Shadowdrop. Was there an issue with your hunt?”

“You could say that,” Shadowdrop admitted. “We were hunting by the gardens and you’ll never guess what we found.”

“What, a kit?” Oilstripe scoffed. Shadowdrop went eerily quiet. Oilstripe’s eyes exploded. “Wait, am I right?” Rattlepaw’s leather pelt slipped off her back as she scurried up to Shadowdrop. Carnationspeckle stood beside her, her tail brushing against her side.

“That’s where you found me,” Rattlepaw gulped, catching Carnationspeckle’s eye.

“Tell us about the kit,” Weedfoot said. “I assume it isn’t a Clan kit from the way you’re acting.”

“We think so,” Shadowdrop admitted.

“You think so?” Carnationspeckle repeated with a tilt to her head. “Does the kit have a Clan name?”

“Yes, but when we spoke to her, she said she didn’t come from a Clan,” Shadowdrop explained. “I don’t remember anyone in the last few Gatherings mention a Mousekit, unless she’s lying about the name.”

“No one outside the Clans would name their daughter Mousekit,” Rabbitjoy pointed out.

“Rustshade is checking the borders in case the kit’s description matches a kit from another Clan,” Shadowdrop said. “Clammask is bringing the kit along.”

“Carnationspeckle, wake up James and make sure the nursery is ready for a guest,” Weedfoot sighed with a soft flick of her tail.

“We won’t be long,” Carnationspeckle chirped, bouncing where she stood. She seemed more like a kit than a grown molly as she hurried to the warrior’s den. 

“She might be cold…” Weedfoot muttered, glancing at the windy sky. “Rabbitjoy, can you start a small fire? Oilstripe, I want you to fetch Fennelspot. A lone kit like this will likely need a check-up.”

“Downstar might get mad at me if I interrupt her exercise,” Oilstripe gulped, avoiding eye contact.

“I saw them not long ago, I’ll get Fennelspot,” Shadowdrop grumbled. Just as he turned around, however, a wirey white molly strolled past him, flicking her tail while Clammask followed behind. The kit had the faintest of stripes and fur paler than Rattlepaw’s ashy skin. She couldn’t have been much younger than half a year. 

“This is RippleClan?” the kit scoffed. “You live in a big boat? How has it not fallen over?”

“You must be Mousekit,” Weedfoot purred, stepping in front of the newcomer. “Welcome. Hopefully we can get you home soon. What Clan are you from?”

“I already said I’m not from a Clan,” Mousekit huffed, sneering. 

“You have to be with a name like Mousekit,” Clammask sighed. “If you ran away because you were being hurt, you can tell us. We won’t drag you back.”

“I’m called Mousekit because my furless, spineless, coward of a mother spent my whole life telling me everything she knew about the Clans,” Mousekit snapped, turning on Clammask. “She’s the one who brought me out here. About time, too. I was sick of catching mice for humans.” Rattlepaw’s stomach twisted as she held her breath. No wonder Mousekit didn’t react to her.

“Your mother was furless too?” Rattlepaw gulped. She slowly approached Mousekit, who studied her with a cold glimmer in her green eyes. “Was her name… Rebecca?”

“How do you know that?” Mousekit said as the fur on her neck bristled. Rattlepaw couldn’t stop herself. She squealed and dove at Mousekit. She shoved her face into her shockingly soft fur.

“She was my mother too!” Rattlepaw cheered. “You’re my sister!” 

“Get off of me!” Mousekit snapped. She shoved Rattlepaw away. Rattlepaw tumbled onto her back. The sand scratched her fragile skin.

“Rattlepaw!” Carnationspeckle hurried out of the nursery. She and Oilstripe helped Rattlepaw back to her feet. Oilstripe brushed sand off Rattlepaw’s skin while Carnationspeckle licked her white ear.

“That was a hard tumble,” Oilstripe huffed. “Are you alright?”

“A little sore, but I’m alright,” Rattlepaw said.

“So you’re Rattlesnake,” Mousekit said, whiskers twitching with a strange contempt. “Our mother talked often about how she had to ‘save you’ from a breeding life.”

“How is she?” Rattlepaw asked. She braced herself for a venomous response as Mousekit’s tail flicked about.

“Why should I care?” Mousekit snapped. “She didn’t care about me. All she talked about were her plans to take me away as soon as she got the chance. I guess she took it.”

“If you like to hunt, you’ll like this place,” Carnationspeckle purred. “I took in your sister when she arrived here. If you wanted to, we could get to know each other more.” Carnationspeckle rested her tail over Rattlepaw. Rattlepaw pressed into Carnationspeckle with a soft purr.

“You want to treat me like your kit?” Mousekit scoffed. “I had a mom, and she was awful. You aren’t my mom, and you aren’t my sister!” Rattlepaw pressed harder into Carnationspeckle. Her big copper eyes poured unspoken needs over Mousekit, but the pale molly turned away and back to Weedfoot. “So where can I stay?” It took Weedfoot a moment to collect her words; the small crowd looked between Mousekit and Rattlepaw, unsure whether they should have said something or not.

“Come this way,” Weedfoot said softly. She guided Mousekit across camp to the nursery. Mousekit walked with her tail high, leaving Rattlepaw and Carnationspeckle in her dust. While Carnationspeckle continued grooming Rattlepaw, something hardened in Rattlepaw’s chest.

She was already trying to find her mother a mate, and she’d just been given a sister. If she could push Carnationspeckle to fall in love with Oilstripe, she could convince her own flesh and blood to love her back.

he/thon, pansexual greyromantic.

confident and clever, but also paranoid and reckless. thon is distrustful of others and slow to warm to his clanmates. he sees every little detail and loves to climb, spending a lot of his time climbing whatever he can find.

splashpaw is secretly very fond of rainpaw and his intense ways, but he would never admit it. he has a bit of a rivalry with rattlepaw, but secretly admires him.

thon was raised by neglectful parents and would certainly have died if not for thons older sister, lynx. lynx died to get splashpaw to rustclan just a moon ago, walking for days with her smaller brother under her to shield him from the devastating sun that burned deep into her pelt. when they finally reached the clan that rumors had told them about, lynx collapsed, the top half of her body almost unrecognizable. fennelpond tried his best, but everyone but splashpaw knew she had no chance of survival. she languished for twelve agonizing days before she succumbed to her fatal injuries, and splashpaw mourned deeply.

despite the danger, he often climbs up things. he tries to stay in the shade, but it's difficult when he always has the urge to be on the highest thing he can find and turn it into a watchtower.

he is mentored by edelweisstuft.

- He goes by he/him pronouns and he is a cis tom.

- He is the deputy of Scuteclan. Scuteclan is a clan full of cats with reptile/amphibian like traits, such as hallow fangs like venomous snakes or color changing fur like chameleons.

- He became deputy after the old deputy was murdered. He found the killer and reported it to the leader, who then made him deputy. At first, most cats didn't think he was good enough but after a month, he proved himself worthy of the job.

- Anacondajester has a snake tail and can hold his breath underwater for 50 minutes.

- He got his prefix because of his pelt.

- He got his suffix because of his personality.

- He has two moms! One is a swimmer named Yellowtimber and the other is a climber named Gilaflower. His parents are still together and are in a happy relationship.

- He has two siblings that were born recently. They are named Pythonkit and Beadkit. He loves them and will fight anyone who even looks at them with slight disapproval.

- His best friends are two twins. The older twin is a swimmer named Frogshell and the younger twin is a medic named Hummingfrog.

- He had an apprentice before he became deputy. Their name is Coralpounce, and they are quiet and reserved but very sweet. His current apprentice is Rattlepaw. She is a spunky little cat who has a rattle at the end of her tail and vemon. Her climber name will be Rattlewave.

- Anacondajester is in a loving relationship with Platypuspond. He loves him dearly and wishes to be with him constantly but knows that it wouldn't be good for either tom. He has thoughts about leaving his clan with his family and running away with Platypuspond but fears they would be caught. He hasn't told his family about his relationship.

Wow! I'm on a roll! These were so damn fun to draw!!!! I loved designing these funky cats. I will go over what all of them are and I'm sorry if I sound like a nerd. I'm going to school for herpetology, the study of reptiles and amphibians, and I just had a great time. Bear with me while I infodump hehe.

Anacondajester is obviously based off a green Anaconda.

Yellowtimber is modeled after the yellow Anaconda.

Gilaflower is from the Gila monster. Which I think look neat.

Beadkit comes from the Mexican Beaded lizard who is a close relative of the Gila!

Pythonkit is based off of a Ball python since I have one. I'm biased.

Coralpounce is from a Coral snake but more specifically a Malayan blue coral snake. They look super pretty! I'll probably make a normal coral snake later.

Rattlepaw is obviously based off a Rattlesnake. Maybe l'll redesign her to be a specific Rattlesnake. Probably a Pygmy Rattlesnake because they are cute and smol!

Frogshell is based off of a Glass frog. If I ever do a full body of him, I'll have his skin see through.

Hummingfrog is based off a Milk frog! My favorite frog!!!

Whisperingclan Yr. 2 Designs pt.3

This is a follow up to the Year 2 Lineup and the Yr. 2 Designs pt.2 !

This will include the designs and blurbs (notable actions and relationships) for the Dark Forest and Starclan cats!

This Year's Actions: Was banished to the Dark Forest after getting into a physical fight with Ravenblur after the Starclan guide (Larkcaw) guided him from the Dark Forest; Changed her name from Jaggedlark to Jaggedheart, she was named after Larkcaw and she refuses to carry that name anymore, she chose "heart" as a reminder to not forget to care and love despite being in the DF; began communicating with Partridgepaw in her dreams in the hope that she can still help the living and stop Tempeststar.

Notable Relationships: Was close to her cousin Weedpatch and is devistated she can not be with him in Starclan; has a respect for and comradery with Partrigepaw

This Year's Actions: Was guided out of the Dark Forest into Starclan by the Starclan Guide Larkcaw; Got into a physical altercation with his ex-apprentice Jaggedlark which resulted in Larkcaw banishing her to the Dark Forest.

Notable Relationships: REALLY hates Jaggedlark/heart; was a minion to Tempeststar in life and is now one for Larkcaw

This Year's Actions: Guided Ravenblur out of the Dark Forest; Specifically did this to have a cat who would follow her commands, and so she could create a reason to banish Jaggedlark as she had been questioning Larkcaw too much; Caused Ravenblur and Jaggedlark to fight, blamed the fight on Jagged and banished her to the Dark Forest.

Notable Relationships: She guides and is allied with Tempeststar, she is also Tempest's grandmother.

This Year's Actions: nothin, he's just vibin; he is waching over his new great grand kits though, and is caring for his great grandkit Oakkit as well as Heronkit now.

Notable Relationships: Was very close to his granddaughter Sunmane in life; cares deeply for his descendants; close to Oakkit and Heronkit and is kind of their Starclan caretaker

This Year's Actions: reunited with his mother Celeste after she traveled to the Whisperingclan border to find him; met his half sister Rattlepaw who joined Whisperingclan to become a warrior and be with her brother; Received Rattlepaw as an apprentice; was caught in a sudden blizzard and died in the snow; went to Starclan, was reunited with his best friend and cousin Jaggedlark/heart for a short while before she was banished to the DF

Notable Relationships: Was, and really still is, best friends with his cousin Jaggedheart; had begun to regrow his relationship with his mother Celeste and had begun to get close to Rattlepaw as well

This Year's Actions: was born to Butterflyfreckle alongside his two siblings Partrigepaw and Heronkit; Caught kittencough alongside Heronkit; Heronkit died presumably due to kittencough; was made an apprentice with Sunmane as his mentor but died from kittencough a moon later.

Notable Relationships: was very close to his mother and siblings; spends most of his time with Heronkit

This Year's Actions: was born to Butterflyfreckle alongside his two siblings Partrigepaw and Gullpaw; Caught kittencough alongside Gullpaw; died presumably due to kittencough, in truth he felt a calling to the Whispering Crystal outside the nursery, and when he fell asleep beneath it alongside Oakkit their spirits both were taken to Starclan too soon.

Notable Relationships: was very close to his mother and siblings; spends most of his time with Gullpaw, Oakkit, and Flowermoon

This Year's Actions: was born to Mossleaf and Sunmane alongside his siblings Hickorykit, Comfreykit and Chivekit; Died of unknown causes the same moon (see cause above in Heron's bio)

Notable Relationships: loved his mothers and siblings; spends most of his time with Heronkit, Gullpaw, and Flowermoon

how much of the stuff do you decide is gonna happen vs comes up unexpectedly in the game? is tempest having minions attack anyone who stands up to her counted in the game and does that affect the relationship scores?

A lot of it is all the game, just with me embellishing it character wise!

Though some things I add! Like with Rattlepaw being related to Celeste and Weed and Tempeststar being mauled by Bigpaw!

All the Tempeststar having minion attack a clanmember stuff is a game event u get if u have evil leaders. I think it effects the relationships negatively but tbh I don't thing it effects them enough, like in game Butterfly doest hate Tempeststar much if at all 💀 I kno in my heart she does tho <3

Cavernclan, Year 1, END (Leaffall) + Burntheart finds a Hayclan warrior fleeing their clan. She explains to him that she feels like an outcast in her own clan, and asks to join the clan. Burntheart warns her that his clan might be hostile to her, given the recent tension between the clans, and she still wants to try. She tells him she had no love for Hayclan either, and so she’s taken into Caverclan, and allowed to join. 

+ Reedburr and Oaknettle butt heads. Oaknettle bristles as Goldstar scolds him for picking a fight with the Deputy (Leafbare) + Rattlepaw has discovered their love of blueberries, and begins to both horde them, and also wear them. 

+ Reedburr gets his paw caught in a twoleg trap, but managed to not be too injured

+ Burntheart strains his paw from a bad landing

+ Oddthistle encounters a snake in the clan’s tunnels, and she fights it. She manages to kill it, to prevent it from making it to camp, but dies from a bite. 

+ Oaknettle escorts Glowfish to get some Burrdock, and Oaknettle is actually kind to her. Despite complaining about his freezing paws, he grabs a pathetic looking herb to give to her

+ Yarrowfur and Burntheart discuss concerns for Cherryfreckle’s behavior, and she overhears them + Goldstar leads Burntfur and Talondrift out of the tunnels on a patrol. As they weave their way through the caves, they find that one has collapsed, with a paw sticking out of the rubble. They hurry to dig the tunnel back out, and find it’s luckily not one of their cats, but one that has the scent of Hayclan. They drag him out of the tunnel, and onto Hayclan, and wait for a patrol to come by. They explain the situation, having no clue why the warrior from the other clan was in the tunnel. Hayclan eyes them suspiciously, but thanks them for returning the tom, and carry him back to camp.  + Goldstar finds a Loner named Indi who wants to join. He is allowed in, and renamed Leafbite. + Fallingfur gets Whitecough, and is given catmint. Glowfish and Rattlepaw are are struggling to find enough herbs to treat her, and worry she will die, on top of trying to manage Cherryfreckle's new frostbite.

And that's it for Caverclan's First year! There's so much more, but I think I like this format for sharing about them. I may keep playing around with how I showcase their events though.
