L’orologio meccanico con più complicazioni al mondo? Ovviamente è un Vacheron Constantin. Nel 2015, in occasione dei 260 anni di attività, è stata presentata la Referenza 57260, un orologio da tasca davvero sorprendente.

Per realizzarlo ci sono voluti ben otto anni di lavoro e la volontà, nonché la capacità, si spingersi ai limiti estremi dell’alta orologeria. Al suo interno, e ben visibili sui due quadranti anteriore e posteriore, trovano spazio ben 57 complicazioni di cui alcune inedite, il numero più alto mai realizzato in un segnatempo (da qui il nome della referenza, 57 come le complicazioni, e 260 come gli anni celebrati dalla maison). 

La lista sarebbe davvero troppo lunga per questo articolo, ma citarne alcune potrà sicuramente dare un’idea del livello raggiunto dalla maison. Ecco allora che si può trovare il calendario perpetuo gregoriano e quello ebraico, un cronografo rattrapante, l’equazione del tempo con l’indicazione di solstizi ed equinozi, l'indicazione di alba e tramonto, diverse funzioni di suoneria tra cui la ripetizione dei minuti, la suoneria, la sveglia, un calendario zodiacale e per una precisione accurata pure un tourbillon triassiale.

La Referenza 57260 detiene anche un altro record particolare oltre a quello del numero di complicazioni. Il calibro 3750 di questa incredibile creazione di Vacheron Constantin detiene anche il record di gioielli al suo interno, ben 242 rubini, tutti effettivamente usati. Ci sono orologi vintage con un numero eccessivo di gioielli come il famigerato orologio da 110 gioielli di Clinton Watch Co. Anche marchi, come Hampden e Waltham, avevano orologi da 100 e 110 gioielli. Tali orologi però sono stati creati solo per far credere ai consumatori meno attenti che avendo più rubini fossero anche più preziosi e precisi, peccato che maggior parte degli oltre 100 gioielli (comunque sintetici e non costosi) fosse inutilizzata.

Per gli amanti del lusso bisogna invece andare al 1979 per vedere l’incredibile Kallista realizzato da Vacheron Constantin, un orologio ricavato da un lingotto d'oro di un chilogrammo e arricchito da 118 diamanti taglio smeraldo per un totale di 130 carati e cin..CONTINUA A LEGGERE

The term DICE is the acronym of Double Independent Chronograph Evolution - as its name indicates, it is an evolution of the traditional chronograph.
