📚 Hello Book Friends! I just devoured DEV1AT3 by Jay Kristoff. This is the second book in the series, and it did not disappoint. The first book ended with a cliff-hanger and the second book did the same thing. I cannot wait to read the third book. DEV1AT3 is the story of Lemon Fresh and where she ends up after left Eve in Babel. We discover more about her and her power while we continue to follow Eve and her new alliance with Gabriel. The story is filled with tension, battles, and discovery. If you have not read this awesome YA series yet, do not hesitate. 📚 Hello Book Friends! Katherine Center did it again; she delivers a whimsical love story in WHAT YOU WISH FOR. This book is fun, emotional, and rated G sexy. The story is about Samantha Casey (a.k.a. Sam). Sam is a librarian at her beloved Kempner School. She loves her job, she loves her boss, she loves her new town of Galveston, Texas. Max and Babette Kempner are like second parents to Sam. They have welcomed her in their home, and she feels so grateful to have them in her life. But nothing is forever. When Max Kempner, her boss, suddenly passes away, her happy world is changed. To add to the matter, her old crush, Duncan Carpenter, has been hired to replace Max as the school principal. At first, Sam is happy that the school is getting someone as remarkable as Max, but she is concerned that this will be a game-changer for her and that she will have to run away again. It turns out that Duncan has a life make-over since she last saw him and is now the opposite of what he used to be. From the goofy-life-loving man she knew, he has become a grey-strict-stick man. 📚 Hello Book Friends! FLORENCE ADLER SWIMS FOREVER by Rachel Beanland was a difficult read for me. Right from the start, the author drops a bombshell and I was not able to recover after that. I kept waiting for the story to deliver a big reveal and it did not come. The writing is good and there was a lot of potential for this story, but the side stories diluted the main one and it felt unfinished in the end. This book touches so many elements such death, divorce, sacrifice, homosexuality, and deceit. None of these elements were given any depth. It felt like everything was second fiddle to… to what? I am not sure and I am still trying to figure it out. This book was not for me, but that doesn’t mean that it will not be for you. It is so hard to deliver a not so good review when the book was gifted to you by one of your favourite publishers. 📚 Hello Book Friends! This book has been the rage for a while. My wonderful friend Ali (@coffeeandbookswithali) sent me a copy in a Secret Santa exchange a while back and it sat on my TBR shelf since. I know, I know… shame on me. I can tell you that I regret not reading this book before. What a ride!!! I love the plot, the characters, and the writing. It is an action pack book with twists and turns that do not disappoint. It is awesome!!!! The ending!!! OMG… the ending was totally surprising. I need to get the next book soon. . 📚 Hello Book Friends! It feels good when I can reduce the number of books on my TBR list. The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow was a whimsical read. I enjoyed it so much. I love the characters (the good, the bad, and the ugly). The premise for the story is unique, touching, and mind-boggling. I enjoyed the diversity of the characters and the flow of the story. Stories within a story can be a risky affair, but Ms. Harrow delivers a solid link between them and it is beautiful. This book is about love, never giving up, making mistakes, and finding happiness. 📚 Hello Book Friends! I just finished reading The Finders by Jeffrey B. Burton. This is the first book in this series, and it is a great start. The book is well constructed and offers many nail-biting scenes. It also has several LOL moments. The story revolved mostly around Mace and his golden retriever Vera. Vera is trained to find human remains. They freelance for the Chicago police. After Mace and Vera solve a series of vicious crimes, their lives become in danger. Why are they targeted? Who is targeting them? This novel will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat to the last page. . This is definitely a great book for crime story lovers who also love dogs.
