one of the younger moodys! was adopted when she was a lil baby, doesn’t really know much about her biological parents. absolutely loves her mothers & her sisters with all her heart!! most important people in her life.

ever since she was a little girl, mavis has always been very sensitive. it’s not very hard to make her cry. whether she’s overwhelmed, angry, happy, sad, etc. it’s her go-to emotional reaction, occasionally accompanied with a short temper. 

also incredibly talkative, like... once you get her talking about something, good luck trying to get her to stop. it’s something that’s always made her a little insecure at times, especially when it’s obvious that the other person isn’t actually paying attention.

has always been very imaginative. the games she played with her friends growing up were always very intricate, she liked to write pages of ‘lore’ regarding whatever world they were playing in. she was also constantly making up her own plays to perform in front of her friends and family. usually trying to rope her sisters or friends into playing roles as well. if they actually agreed, she suddenly became a Very bossy little director. she just always had a very specific vision and could never really know how to actually communicate it.

a total film buff, always has been. even as a kid she could spend hours talking about whatever her favorite movie of the week was. she went through a phase when she was 12/13 where she just... carried a video camera with her everywhere she went, filming everything. she definitely thought her life was a lot more exciting than it was and she could edit the footage into the Best Movie Ever. it was just very boring. she still has an interest in making movies though which is why she decided to study film. that and it just seemed like the obvious choice to her. it was the only thing she had ever really had a consistent interest in. 

her absolute favorite movie genre (and the kind of movies she would like to make) is horror! and if she had to narrow it down even more, she loves a good slasher.

dances! she’s been taking dance classes ever since she was a kid and is even in a lil dance troupe! it’s really more of a hobby for her and she doesn’t have any interest in doing it as a career but she is pretty good.

keeps everything - receipts, ticket stubs, etc. partially as mementos but mostly because she’ll just shoves thing in her pockets or her bag instead of throwing them away.

background: - born to kruti and bruce messer- they seemed like your average middle class couple - but from a young age, bruce’s temper started flaring more and more and he took it out on hudson and her older brother, sullivan - kruti tried her best to protect her children from her husband’s abuse, but, usually, it would just end up with him taking it out on her - she has always been very close to her mom, her mom is very quiet and very unlike her and as hudson got older she tried to protect HER from bruce instead of the other way around - she grew up really close to her brother, but he left as soon as he turned eighteen- she was sixteen- and she hasn’t seen him since - they talk via text and call from time-to-time, but she feels like he abandoned her and they are, pretty much, estranged - hudson has started uses drugs to numb her feelings more and more, it started out just as recreational drug use, but now she does it alone and when she’s not partying and it’s starting to become a problem, but she’s ignoring it like she largely does her trauma  - she stumbled upon the record shop about two years ago and impulse applied  - she also works as a bartender at outside voices at night

Bio/Background:

Born and raised in Upper East Side, NY by parents who both came from Old Money, Graham wished for nothing as a kid. He had the best schools, the most opportunities, and everything he asked for. Of course, there was a darker side to his family. His father was an abusive alcoholic, and raged terror upon him and his mother and little sister. 

Graham took it on himself to defend his mother and little sister from the worst of it. Accepting his place as the true ‘man’ of the house. He would purposefully rile his father up so that he wouldn’t take his anger out on Graham’s other family. It resulted in far too many hospital visits, but given his family’s connections, they were able to cover everything up with ease. 

Perhaps due to his family situation, Graham has always been a disappointment to his family. While his sister excelled in school and is on her way to becoming a success that their parents always dreamed of, Graham has fallen short in every category. He barely graduated from high school, and it was hardly the type of impressiveness that was usually associated with his family. 

Graham dismisses any type of ambition, preferring to enjoy the moment and indulge himself in everything and anything he finds amusing. This created a rift between him and his mother, and made their relationship irreparable. His relationship with his father was always broken, but it became even worse when Graham got kicked out of college. 

From then on, it was a constant party. He chased women, got written about in the New York Post, and was aimless. He created more than just one scandal, and was seen as an embarrassment and failure amongst his family and the other elite. 

His parents decided they had enough of his antics eventually, and forced him to leave New York City. He traveled around the globe for a year or so, finding ways to entertain himself while keeping out of the eyes of tabloids as his parents instructed. 

Then, his dad died in car wreck, and he was drawn home. For months, he cared for his mother, who could barely function given the loss. Despite his treatment, his mother still loved him, and Graham took it on himself to make sure his sister could continue school while he made sure their mother stayed alive. 

It was only recently that Graham left New York, deciding that he needed a change of pace. He needed to find something to do with his life. For a while, he just drove around the country, looking for anything that would spark his attention. Eventually, he stumbled upon the town of Willows Peak. He never thought he’d end up in a place like this, but he doesn’t regret it. 

Though he’s only been here three months, he already feels much more connected to it than he did with anywhere else he’s ever been. Still, old habits are hard to break. As much as he wants to find himself and do something important with his life, he isn’t sure he’s ready for it, or even what it could be. 

Extras:

He has always loved music and books more than anything else. They’re the only ‘hobbies’ he really has. His collection of vinyl and paperbacks has accumulated greatly since he’s arrived in Willows Peak. It’s the only thing he’s ever really been passionate about, hence hanging out at Reckless Records. 

His sister is really the only person he’s ever fully opened up to about struggles with depression and anxiety. He knows he should’ve talked to someone about it long ago, but his sister is the only one he trusts. Besides, he figures he can just brush it off and ignore it, like he does with all his other problems.

He doesn’t use drugs often, but he does probably drink a bit too much. Most of it is social, but he knows he can always turn to some whiskey if he’s having a particularly rough mental health day. 

His father’s death impacted him in ways he still is figuring out, but he is afraid to face that, and chooses to push it in a corner of his mind where he doesn’t have to look at it. 

Can be quite lazy as he’s never had to work for anything in his life and doesn’t have a plan to do so in the immediate future.

hello all, it’s me. pepper. if you read that in a hello god it’s me margaret vc we are simply meant to be <3 but omg yeah i really was out here plottin for mika and completely forgetting booker exists skjsdk sorry king. you deserve better. anyways, down below will be a bit about the boi because i am too lazy for a google doc !! maybe we’ll make it later we’ll see.

wesley booker was an accident. let’s not sugar coat things here. he was a big fat fuckin mistake. you see his parents were on their way to retirement when he came into the picture. all of their other children were grown up, some even with children of their own. and then booker and his twin sister showed up. they weren’t exactly thrilled about the whole thing. 

i mean, they weren’t dicks about it. they fed the twins and clothed them and gave them like basic love and all that. but they definitely didn’t put as much energy into the last two kids as they did into those before them. so booker and his sister pretty much were left to their own devices majority of the time. 

so the twins very quickly learned to entertain themselves. they had each other for company and that was fine. for the most part the twins were actually pretty codependent until they got a bit older and found themselves when more friends. but to this day they are still quite close. 

whenever their parents got tired of dealing with them they would send the twins over to their uncle robs shop. customers probably got pretty used to the two kids running around reckless screaming their heads off, and playing hide and seek excitedly through the aisles. they gave poor rob more grey hair than a man should ever have at that age, but hey, they gave the shop character. booker and his sister spent pretty much majority of their childhood at reckless to be honest. they went their after school so that rob could take them home once the shop closed up. they were there one weekends, when they parents didn’t particularly want to deal with them. and later, when at least booker became of age, he even worked there. 

booker worked front counter at reckless for all of his high school career. and honestly, he was good at it too. he had the kind of thoughtful, detail oriented personality that worked well in that kind of environment. he started working at reckless when he was fourteen, and by the time he was in his senior year he was even assistant manager. things were good. really good. while rob was more of a chill boss, relaxed boss, booker actually had the ability to keep things organized and keep majority of the store under control. things were actually running smoothly while he was there. his uncle got extra sleep. all the customers were happy. 

and then booker quit to go to university. and well. the place dissolved into the good old chaos it was before. honestly, booker finds the disposition kind of stressful, but mostly funny. his uncle begs him to come back at least once a week, but with booker now being in graduate school and working as a side gig as a teaching assistant and tutor, well, he simply doesn’t have the time. he comes by often enough though, just to laugh and his uncles woes and occasionally force him to take a nap as he organizes the books for him, maybe watches the place. 

but booker’s real focus at the moment is his masters in film. your boy wants to be a director, so you can often catch him waxing poetic about classic movies or looking like a zombie after his exams. 

HEADCANNONS. how do you deal with anxiety? i let it fuck me up and then i go to bed.

a responsible boi ! honestly booker has been a tiny adult since he was a child. when he was a child he looked a lot like little luke crain from haunting of hill house. now he has contact lenses. 

a huge nerd. loves movies and comic books and classical literature. really such a dweeb. very smart, and quite humble about it but also a damn nerd yk. 

has an old beat up pickup truck he drives everywhere that he mostly fixes with duct tape skjdsj it was his dads and he’s only keeping it because he can’t afford another one but god,,, we hate it here. 

a push over honestly. super kind. if you need anything just as him and he will probably give it to you. very skeptical and paranoid of people he doesn’t know quite well tho. the duality of man <3
