rejanis 20 and 21
20. …on a scar.
21. …on a place of insecurity.
I got carried away maybe ✌🏼
Regina drops her keys in the bowl next to the door and kicks off her heels, not bothering to put them in their proper place. Too much bending down for her to handle at the moment.
She makes her way to the bedroom, peeling off her suit as she does. By the time she at the bed, she's down to her underwear, bra thrown somewhere in the bedroom. She takes two seconds to pull on a worn, patched up flannel shirt before faceplanting onto the mattress with a grunt.
Her back relaxes minutely in the different position, and even that little bit of relief has her sighing in relief.
She lets herself doze off, hoping the nap will erase the stress of the day. She only wakes up when she hears the front door open, but even then she doesn't bother moving.
Janis comes into the room, Regina can hear her stutter step as she notices Regina laid out across the bed.
"Hey, Gina," she says quietly.
Regina just grunts in response, still waking up from her nap and also not in the mood to talk until she's a bit more present.
"Back hurt from holding the firm up on your back?" Janis jokes.
Regina can hear her shuffling around, putting things away. Just hearing Janis makes a bit more of the stress fade away.
Another grunt, and all of Janis' puttering around stops as she seems to realize how bad it is. The bed compresses next to her as Janis sits down.
Regina feels hands on her back, gently pushing the shirt higher on her back, calluses rasping against her skin. The feeling makes Regina shiver and only the pain keeps her from arching and pressing herself into Janis' touch.
Strong hands rub across Regina’s back, working at the worst points of pain around her scar. As Regina's tense back starts to relax, Janis kisses the center of her scar, lingering for a moment as her breath washes against the puckered line that stretches up part of Regina’s back.
"What happened, baby?" Soft, caring tones that never fail to make Regina melt, even when she's in the worst mood. She lets everything come pouring out, knowing Janis is there to help her carry it.
"I almost cried in fucking court, Janis," Regina grits out, fighting back those same tears. "I stepped wrong once this morning and I've been in excruciating pain ever since. This injury is never going to leave me alone and I hate it. Imagine what people would think of me if I burst into tears in the courtroom. Would they be able to take me seriously? How could they? A lawyer crying in court? What a joke. I can't be a good lawyer if I'm always fucking two steps away from breaking down!"
Regina feels Janis press a line of soothing kisses across the line of her shoulders before she brushes away Regina’s hair to see her face. She doesn't say anything - Janis learned a long time ago that sometimes Regina just needs to get everything out without input from anyone else. Instead, Janis tilts her face up slightly, just enough to slot their lips together in a kiss that's all the comforting Regina needs. Regina sighs and leans into Janis, almost deepening the kiss before pulling away, eyelids drooping.
"Love you, shark," Janis says, using Regina’s nickname from college, when Regina tore all her opponents to shreds in one of her law classes. A nickname she pulls out when she wants to remind Regina that she's in control, that she's more than her ever present pain.
"Love you too." Regina tilts her head and brushes their noses together before dropping her head back onto her arms.

Harvard Law School’s student government has labelled Israel’s war on Gaza a genocide, in an open letter demanding the US university divest from Israel. “Harvard Law School Student Government formally calls upon HMC to divest completely from weapons manufacturers, firms, academic programs, corporations, and all other institutions that aid the ongoing illegal occupation of Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians,” the student body said in an open letter posted on the university website. The resolution was passed in an anonymous vote of 12 to four, with three abstentions, but has generated some blowback. Two members of the student body, Regina De Nigris and Cameron Adkins, said they strongly disagreed with the decision in a resignation letter, according to The Harvard Crimson. The open letter makes a historical case for Harvard Management Company’s $50bn endowment to divest from Israel.

Under the cut, unless Tumblr ate it.
Robin strode down the hallway of the lodge at his Sherwood Forest Resort toward the executive suite where his girlfriend was staying for the weekend, an excited bounce in his step at the thought of seeing her in person again.
Well, maybe potential girlfriend was more accurate…
Was it too soon to call her his girlfriend? Probably. Regina didn’t strike him as the type of woman who’d rush into putting labels on a relationship. It had only been three months since they’d met back in June, and they’d only spent six days in each other’s presence before she and the rest of her girlfriends had returned to their respective homes.
But the fact that she’d accepted a position at a prominent Knoxville law firm after graduating from Harvard Law last spring and passing the Tennessee bar gave him hope that he could soon call the woman he’d lost his head over earlier this summer, his. Not to mention the fact that she had chosen to visit him over this long Labor Day weekend.
He knocked on the door and bounced on the balls of his feet as he waited for it to open. It was only a few moments later - even if it seemed interminable to him - when it swung inward and Robin caught his breath.
Regina Mills was even more beautiful than he remembered. Regular FaceTime calls just didn’t do her justice. Straight raven hair that swept her shoulders, the honey almond tone to her skin which glowed under the lights, her dark eyes lighting up and full lips dropping open slightly before widening into a tentative but happy smile.
He didn’t quite know what to say to her. He knew he sported a rather goofy smile - this amount of joy in his heart always showed itself on his face, if he could believe David - and just being in her presence again was enough to strike him speechless. He couldn’t help the surge of male pride inside him that she seemed to be similarly affected.
She licked her bottom lip, grabbed him by the shirt, and pulled him into the room, slamming the door behind him. She captured his lips with her own before he could blink, and it only took a moment for his arms to wrap around her and return her passionate kisses.
He walked forward, guiding her further into the room until he’d backed her into the wall near the door. Releasing her lips, he grinned down at her as her eyes danced and she licked her swollen lips.
“That was quite a hello,” he said, cheekily, “but I am not complaining.”
She shrugged one shoulder in a playful gesture that was wholly unexpected, while at the same time utterly charming.
“I might have missed you,” she sassed right back at him.
Robin cupped her face in both of his hands. “Well, I know I missed you,” he said in all seriousness. Never taking his eyes off of hers, he moved his head slowly toward her until he brushed her lips with his own.
“You got Roland off to school, okay?” she asked.
“Yes,” he replied. “They had Back-to-School night last night, so he got to meet his teacher then, and he was already friends with most of the kids in his class, so there were no tearful goodbyes or nerves on his part. He walked in like he owned the place.” He chuckled and Regina beamed.
“I’m not at all surprised.” She glanced up at him through her lashes and nibbled a bit on her bottom lip. “So that means…”
“I don’t have to pick him up until 2:30.” A slow grin spread across his face and Regina blushed. “We don’t have to do anything you’re not ready for, darling,” he assured her, stroking her cheek gently. “I know we haven’t known each other long…”
“No, Robin,” she interrupted with a small shake of her head, rushing to reassure him. “I want to.” She took a deep breath, and Robin felt his heart rate pick up as he waited for her to speak. “Getting to know you the past few months… I… I’ve never felt about anyone the way I feel about you.” Her voice wasn’t much more than a whisper, and the uncertainty and vulnerability he saw in her eyes nearly undid him. He held his tongue, knowing she didn’t need his words at the moment, she needed his understanding and acceptance. “I know I can trust you with my heart.”
Love and awe flooded him. “You’d trust me with such a precious treasure?” She smiled - a soft, tender thing - and Robin’s heart melted within him. He pulled her into his arms and captured her lips. They were as sweet as Granny’s ice cream, and flames of passion surged between them. He lifted her in his arms, and she wrapped her legs around his hips as he moved further into the room.
Depositing her on the bed, he began undoing the buttons of his shirt. Regina scrambled to her knees on the edge of the bed and slapped his hand away. “Let me.”
He couldn’t contain the smirk on his lips as she reached for him. “As you wish, milady.”
Regina’s fingers danced along his skin as she released each button, leaving Robin burning for her. She’d just pushed his shirt off as he reached for the hem of the red cashmere sweater she wore when his phone vibrated in his pocket.
“Do you need to get that?” she asked.
“David can handle whatever it is,” he replied before kissing her again.
The vibrating came to an end, and started up again not ten seconds later. She pulled back from him and lifted one imperial eyebrow. “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” he murmured, lifting her sweater from her body and chasing her lips with his.
The phone stopped again - before voicemail would have had a chance to pick up - and then resumed the incessant buzzing about five seconds later.
“I really think you should get that,” she remarked drily.
Robin rolled his eyes and pulled his phone out of his pocket. David’s smiling face filled the screen and Robin groaned. As soon as the line connected, Robin barked, “What?”
Before Robin could hang up on him, the apology burst from David’s mouth. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. You know I wouldn’t call if I didn’t have to.”
“You’d better have a really good reason for this,” Robin growled.
“I do. I swear,” David assured him. “Do you hear that?” he asked. He held out his phone in front of him for a few seconds before bringing it back to his ear again.
Robin’s brow furrowed. The sound he heard through the receiver was familiar, but he couldn’t place it right away. Suddenly it hit him and he blanched.
“Is that water?” he asked, hoping against hope David would answer in the negative.
“Yep,” David replied. “Your hot water heater is busted. You need to get over here. Now.”
“Shit!” Robin cried. Normally he wouldn’t have used such language, too used to minding his tongue around his young son, but there were some times when stronger language was called for.
“What? What is it?” Regina asked, her eyes wide with alarm.
Robin covered the end of the phone to speak to her. “The hot water heater at my cabin is busted. I have to go.”
“Yes, yes, of course,” she agreed quickly, grabbing her sweater off the bed where it’d landed and putting it back on. “I’ll come with you.”
“We’ll be right over,” Robin said to David before hanging up. He turned apologetic eyes to Regina as he grabbed his shirt. “I’m sorry about this.”
She waved his concern away. “Don’t worry about it,” she assured him. “Things like this have to take priority.”
He’d just finished buttoning his shirt, when his phone rang again. “Now what?” he said exasperatedly into the phone. “I told you we were on our way.” He paused for a moment and the consternation on his face melted into apology. “Miss Ariel,” he exclaimed. “I’m so sorry! I thought you were someone else. Is everything alright?”
He was silent for another minute, and Regina watched as the apology morphed into dismay. “Ah… I… but…” He turned alarmed and pleading eyes to her.
“What?” she whispered.
“Roland jumped off the swings at morning recess and hurt his ankle,” he explained. “I have to go to him first…” he trailed away, uncertainty in every line of his face.
“You go home,” Regina suggested. “I’ll go to Roland.” Robin nodded appreciatively.
Turning his attention back to the phone conversation, Robin quickly explained. “There’s an emergency here at the resort I have to take care of. My girlfriend, Regina Mills,” he continued, never taking his eyes from hers to gauge her reaction to his appellation, as well as what he was about to reveal, “will be there in a few minutes. She’s listed as one of Roland’s emergency contacts on the paperwork I filled out last night.” She nodded at him decisively as he hung up, and her beaming smile had him release the breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding.
“Where is his school and where do I need to take him?” she asked, trying for a serious demeanor, but knowing she failed completely. She just couldn’t get over the giddiness inside her at him referring to her as his girlfriend, in addition to the trust he showed by listing her as an emergency contact for his son. She turned away from him, hoping to disguise the happiness on her face by slipping into her shoes and picking up her purse.
“His school is at the bottom of the hill before you get to the strip,” he informed her.
Regina nodded. “I remember passing it on the way in.”
“I should have asked you before putting you down as an emergency contact,” Robin continued, placing a hand on her hip. “David is first, obviously, but I just tend to worry a lot, and when there was a second option as well, you were the first person I thought of. I hope that’s okay.”
She turned back toward him and the contrition and hope in his eyes made her heart flutter. “Of course it is. I’m honored.”
Robin smiled softly and brushed her lips with his. “The pediatrician is on the strip. Take a right when you get there and it’s on the right maybe a hundred yards from where you turn. I’ll meet you there.”
He opened the door of the hotel room for her, and pressed his lips to her neck, making her shiver, before drawing back and looking her in the eyes.
“Thank you.”
She nodded and preceded him out the door.
~*~*~
Regina walked into the office of Roland’s school, her eyes scanning the room looking for the small boy. When she didn’t see him right away, she approached the desk in front of her.
“I’m Regina Mills, here for Roland Locksley.”
“Yes, Miss Mills,” the secretary replied. “I just need to see your ID and have you sign this form, please.” Regina nodded sharply, very thankful that Robin’s foresight made this unexpected visit much smoother than it could have been otherwise.
As soon as she was done, she was shown into a small room off the main office. Little Roland sat on a hard plastic chair, his feet dangling above the floor. An ACE bandage was wrapped haphazardly around his foot and ankle - much more of the bandage around his foot instead of his ankle - and tear tracks still ran down his face.
“Oh, Roland,” she cried, running over to him, and gathering him close. She turned on her queen persona that most often saw action in a courtroom, and demanded to see whoever had treated him.
“Miss Gina,” Roland hiccupped, clinging to her tightly and making her heart melt just a little inside her. “I jumped from the swing and when I landed, my ankle turned wrong. It really hurts, Miss Gina.” His whimpers sent her own emotions into a tailspin as she remembered a similar situation when she was ten, in which her parents couldn’t be bothered to come after she’d broken her arm climbing on the monkey bars. They’d sent the butler to collect her and bring her to their personal physician.
“Did they give you anything for the pain, Roland?” she asked gently. He shook his head, and Regina could feel her nostrils flare as she took a deep breath and prepared to rip into the young man who’d just entered the room. “What is your name?” she demanded. “And are you the one responsible for the horribly inadequate treatment afforded to this child? Why has he not even been given anything for the pain he’s in? I know for a fact his father gave permission for medication to be given if necessary last night at Back-to-School Night.”
“G- Gideon,” he stammered. “I didn’t see any of the paperwork from last night. I’m sorry, ma’am. Yes, I treated him, but I’m not…” He stopped and swallowed hard, his eyes wide.
“Not what?” Regina snapped.
“I’m just a student, ma’am,” he explained.
Regina huffed. “Well, who was supervising you? Surely there was someone else here watching who could intervene when they saw the atrocious job you were doing,” she sneered.
“N- no, ma’am,” he stammered. “The school nurse was substituting in the Health class today.”
“On the first day of school?” Regina questioned, raising her eyebrow in disbelief.
“Yessss, ma’am,” he said, drawing out the word as if he hoped it would keep her from speaking again. Unfortunately for him, she wasn’t finished.
“It’s a very good thing you’re a student,” she said, narrowing her eyes at him. “Because if you weren’t, I can assure you, you’d be looking for a new job tomorrow. Now get this boy something for the pain.”
“Y- yes, ma’am,” Gideon gulped as he spun on his heel and left the room. He returned just a few minutes later with some liquid Children’s Tylenol. After giving Roland the appropriate dosage, Regina rose to her feet, Roland gathered in her arms, and walked toward the door. She glared at Gideon as he opened the door for her before placing a gentle kiss on the crown of Roland’s head.
“We’re going to meet your Papa at the pediatrician’s, okay, Roland?” she murmured.
“Okay, Miss Gina,” Roland replied. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, sweet boy.”
~*~*~
Ten minutes later, Regina entered the pediatrician’s office to see Robin in the waiting room. He rose and quickly took Roland from Regina’s arms, kissing his son on the head.
“What happened?” He wasn’t quite sure who he was addressing with his question. Roland had obviously been crying, and he suspected he’d get a clearer picture from Regina than the child in his arms.
Roland simply snuggled into his father’s embrace, and a soft smile lifted Regina’s lips as a soft huff escaped them.
“That idiot of a student nurse didn’t know the first thing about treating an ankle injury,” she explained. “Roland jumped off the swings and when he landed, his ankle turned. You can see that kid didn’t even know how to wrap the ankle properly. Nor did he give Roland anything for the pain until I made him do it.”
Robin’s brow furrowed. “How are you feeling now, buddy?” he murmured. “Is it any better?”
Roland nodded. “A little bit.”
“Dr. Whale will see you now,” the nurse behind the desk said. She opened the door to the back of the building, allowing them through, then led them to an examination room. “He’ll be right in.”
Robin thanked her, then turned his attention back to his son and girlfriend.
“I can’t thank you enough for going to get him and taking such good care of him,” he said, his gaze intense on hers. “He’s everything to me.”
Regina placed her hand on his knee and gave a light squeeze. “I know. I was happy to do it.”
Robin nodded, then filled them in on what happened at home. “David heard rushing water as he passed the cabin. He had a key, so he let himself in and found the flooded basement. That was when he called me. We got ServePro out there to clean it up, but we need a new hot water heater. That’ll take a few days to get installed. With the holiday, it might be next week.”
“You can’t stay in the cabin without hot water,” Regina replied. Robin shook his head. “My room only has one bed…”
“I can move you to the Presidential Suite,” Robin interrupted. “It has three bedrooms. Roland can sleep in one, and I can…” He trailed off, not quite ready to articulate his hope out loud.
“Stay with me?” Regina asked softly.
“If you’re comfortable with that,” he assured her.
She smiled, and Robin caught his breath. He’d never seen anything more beautiful in all his life.
“I am,” she said, placing her hand on his arm where he still held Roland close and then leaning over to kiss him gently. When she pulled back, he knew the goofy grin was back on his face and was very thankful that Dr. Whale chose that moment to make his appearance.
Thirty minutes later, they were done. No broken bones, thankfully, but Roland was going to be getting around on crutches for a few weeks to allow the sprain to heal properly. Robin decided, and Dr. Whale concurred, that keeping Roland out of school the rest of the week so he could stay off of it as much as possible was the best plan, and would also allow him to get used to using crutches.
“Let’s head back to Sherwood Forest,” Robin began, “and get Miss Gina in her new suite so we can get settled in for a Star Wars marathon this afternoon. What do you think, Roland?”
Roland’s smile was bright, but tired, as he enthusiastically agreed with the plan. It took about an hour to get back, pack themselves a bag for the weekend, and get settled in the new suite. Once they were all spread out in front of the TV, Roland in between them with ice on his ankle and holding a large bowl of buttered popcorn, Robin knew there was no place he’d rather be.
And when Roland fell asleep that night - after eating a lasagne dinner from Granny’s (When she picked it up, Regina made Granny swear not to tell Ruby about her visit) and watching the original trilogy - Robin and Regina picked up right where they’d left off that morning when David so rudely interrupted them.
The End

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it and I'd love to know what you thought! Happy birthday again, Randi! I hope your day is as wonderful as you are!!!

For Hiro: Demons of War, Lt. Mower, Where the Bodies Hit the Floor
Ares: Bloody Ritual, Discount Doc, House on a Hill
Avi: Letter of the Law, Lex Talionis, On Deaf Ears
:3
Character asks for @depyotee 😊💕
Hiro:
Demons of War: Is there a job that has left a permanent mark on your OC?
As much as he'd like to say that he's seen the worst Night City has to offer, that nothing ruffles him anymore, it still manages to surprise him. It's less of one gig that's so standout, than a parade of them, that showcase how cruel people can be, and how easily greed triumphs over the well-being of others. It wasn't the worst danger he'd ever faced, or the most terrible crimes but the gig of retrieving stolen medicine from Corporal William Hare, suspected cyberpsycho lingered long after he'd gotten his eddies. There's the feeling that maybe if he'd been there sooner, if someone else had been, the man could've gotten treatment, or in touch with Regina. But then again maybe he couldn't have, that it would have always ended the way it did, and at least he'd skirted a larger tragedy. He knows the feeling of having to make a go of it alone, feeling like you've been abandoned, but he was lucky enough to find someone who cared, who was willing to help. It makes him feel powerless, in the face of the corporate machine, and even if he can make a single person feel like it's not just them against the world, than maybe it'll all be worth it.
Lt. Mower: What is the worst betrayal your OC has faced?
Hiro isn't a stranger towards how self-serving people can be, but by far the worst was Wakako. He grew up thinking he didn't have any family aside from a brother he was estranged from, didn't know that she was his grandmother or that his dad had been her son, estranged from the family, or that he has a half-sister. She kept an eye on him growing up, but always held him at arm's length. She said it was because she didn't want him to turn out like his father, that it was for his own good but he wishes she just would've told him, been more involved. She let him make his own mistakes, firm iin her belief that if he was determined enough he would dig himself out of them, and while that held true, he's always resented her for it. He put his trust in the wrong people and she simply watched.
Where the bodies hit the floor: Is your OC vengeful? If not, what would it take for them to seek revenge?
Hiro is vengeful not when he is wronged, but his loved ones. In terms of himself, he's likely to just brush things off, especially if retaliation will simply bring more trouble. In the case of a continued threat, he will deal with it accordingly, and ensure his safety, but he's not going to go on a wild hunt in the name of revenge. If a loved one is wronged, it's a complete reversal, and he won't stop until he feels the debt has been paid--whether it's as simple as petty revenge, or making them disappear more permanently, it's unwise to provoke him.
Ares:
Bloody Ritual: Does your OC have any pre or post mission rituals or superstitions?
Ares always shoots a message to Dakota, or Iris before doing a particularly risky gig. She has the fear of something happening to her on a job, and nobody being there to take care of her dogs, and give them a home, or thinking they've been abandoned. They're like her children, and the idea of them alone and scared is enough to keep her up at night, so having a fail safe in place gives her a lot of peace of mind. She also double checks to make sure she's locked everything up before leaving, and it isn't uncommon for her to turn around and go back to check--the last thing she needs is coming home to her garage raided.
Discount Doc: Is your OC good at improvising? Would they survive a mission underprepared?
Ares thrives on improvising. She goes in with a loose plan, but with the expectation that it'll go to shit, and to be prepared for it. She doesn't necessarily have an entire backup plan, but it keeps her from being frozen in the middle of a crisis, for the most part. She has survived missions under prepared, particularly around the city, where she didn't know what to plan for in the first place. However, she's very, very careful in the Badlands, in terms of the hazards it contains (natural or otherwise), and it's something she's familiar with, unlike the city. Underprepared in the Badlands often means 'dead', and she doesn't plan on that happening anytime soon. She usually carries extra ammo, supplies in her car, and an extra gun or two, along with her tools, a tent, and sleeping roll, and of course an extra mask, goggles and more water than she thinks she'll need. She might find herself out of her depth in Night City, but a sandstorm or raid will never catch her unprepared.
House on a Hill: Is your OC easy to trust or are they paranoid? How vigilant are they?
Ares is too trusting, if anything. While she has a good scope of life in the badlands, and the challenges/specifics that come with it, Ares is less informed about the goings on in Night City, and this can lead her to come off as a little naive about how it works. She gives people the benefit of the doubt, occasionally to her disadvantage, and it's left it's lasting marks on her (in a very physical sense, her missing arm, and replacement cybernetic is a grim reminder). That being said, if someone has proven themselves untrustworthy, she's reluctant to extend the same trust again--she cares deeply and having that betrayed lingers terribly.
Avi:
Letter of the Law: How does your OC feel about Corps? Hatred? Necessary evil? Ect..
As a Corpo himself, he sees them as a necessary evil. He's self-aware enough to know they're not altruistic, but they were a means to an end for him, rather than a 'noble cause' and he saw siding with the Corps as his ticket out of the slums and into a more comfortable life. Although he'd like to pretend it doesn't impact him, his growing disillusionment with Arasaka let to him cutting ties with the company for good, in search of something with more personal freedom. He was simply a dog on a leash to them, even if his kennel was made of gold, and he didn't want to become the next Adam Smasher for them, their tool and completely at their beck and call. Not that his new ally is much less sinister, but his agency is much greater.
Lex Talionis: If your OC is a netrunner, or if they were a netrunner, what would their handle be?
Avi''s would be C3r83rU5 (Cerberus). He's referred to as 'Arasaka's Guard Dog' while working for the corporation, out of earshot of course, and the handle stuck.
On Deaf Ears: What does your OC think about human experimentation? Would they participate in a trial if they were hard up for eddies?
Avi's view of human experiementation is very dim, given his personal experience with it. It's part of the reason he cut ties with Arasaka. Although he condoned his mantis blades and lynx paws, he was filled with experimental cyberware that he hadn't agreed upon, and was missing chunks of his memory. He still doesn't know the full extent of what Arasaka did with him, and most of his records are dead-ends and redacted text. He's had enough of involuntary trials, that he'd rather do literally anything else for money, and Night City always needs another Solo. In his opinion, it's one of the worst things you can do to someone--hide the parts of themself, and leave them wondering what's really them--who is he really, and did Avi ever exist in the first place, or are they simply an Arasaka construct too?

So, what exactly is the scope of Kinsley's influence over the school and the town? Because while I definitely don't advocate violence (well, duh), I will be very shocked if no one, you know, punched her since she likes (or used to like) being mean so much, in a "talk shit, get hit" kinda way. No way she didn't test some people's patience with her shenanigans that they willingly decided to face whatever the consequences that might come if they get to put some fear of God in her.
That's not to say I want there to be an option to beat her up, although I think a catfight would be fun because what high school drama doesn't have them (albeit I mostly saw the verbal catfights in my school years, but I know the girls in question always wanted to beat each other up so bad).
Plus the fun of said catfight being misrepresented in the rumor mill as being over Dylan instead of MC having had enough of Kinsley's bullshit.
Although I guess that would be problematic based on what gender you choose your MC to be: most wouldn't take lightly to a boy beating up a girl, after all.
Uh, basically, I'm just trying to ask if Kinsley ever met the consequences of her actions in the past or most people were too scared to do so for a variety of reasons.
So Kinsley's parents are all very influential people. Her mother's both come from quite wealthy families and are both lawyers in their respective fields. (Emilia Grace was a criminal defense lawyer and Lavender Cameron is corporate/business lawyer) Kinsley's father (Jared Montgomery), though he is only in her life sparsely as he is only a sperm donor, is part of New York's municipal government.
In all honesty, Kinsley is a bit of a nepotism baby──most of her popularity comes from her last name because Grace-Cameron is a private law firm that deals with very high class clients, and her connection to New York's governing people. (Fun fact, J's mother is the Mayor of New York in this story and Jared Montgomery is J's uncle)
Most people are scared of getting in trouble with the Grace-Cameron's more than Kinsley herself... so she gets away with a lot.
My main inspirations for KGC is Regina George (mean girls) Caroline Forbes (the vampire diaries) and Dylan Schoenfield (geek charming) so take from that what you will!
I might play around with the option of giving f!MCs the chance to... get into it with her if they continue to have a bad relationship.
Kinsley's not afraid to get scrappy... she just doesn't do it where others can see her do it🤭

“A law firm was listed for a reason. “
Mid and Regina really need to brush up on their Chris facts. The law firm or Jason Sloane has always been mentioned because they are part of Chris’s team when it comes to these things and Chris has been with them for years. It’s not part of a conspiracy. You can go back to 2016 or even further to find Chris listed as Jason’s client🤦🏻‍♀️
You can tell these blogs have no idea about who’s involved in Chris’s business /personal life and have no real sources.
Yeahhhhh that’s been on his IMDb pro for ages lmao
Tumblr media
Unsure why his lawyer is listed as a talent agent, but he’s not lol

Tumblr media
Saturday arrived and the Lafoy's arrived for dinner. They started in the parlor with pleasantries while Hana finished up supper.
Tumblr media
Hana served Coq au vin for dinner and a desert of fresh fruit from the garden. Dinner conversation revolved around current events, Albert Lafoy talked about the threat of a draft, and his son Simon's deployment. Cerise's mother Regina, talked about her volunteer work. She was working with the Red Cross to collect donations for the war overseas.
Tumblr media
After dinner they moved back to the parlor for a bridge. Conversation moved to lighter topics. Regina asked about Alex's family, she knew his older sister Elvira through her work with the Red Cross. Alex gave a rundown of his siblings, their spouses and children. Albert listened attentively, he asked questions about Lucas and Clara's husband Tom.
Tumblr media
The ladies stepped into the dining room to give Alex and Albert some space to talk. Alex formally asked permission to marry Cerise. Albert had questions about Alex's profession. Alex explained that he was an elected judge but if for any reason he failed to be re-elected, he was also a silent partner in a law firm. He was the majority partner, as his father had started at the firm as an apprentice, then worked until he was a full partner. The other partner's had passed with no children interested in becoming lawyers, their family's had been paid out and his father continued to grow the practice. Of Alex's siblings he was the only one that took this route.
Tumblr media
Albert asked about his brother and sisters, what was their shares in the estate? Alex assured him they had all been paid in accordance with their parent's wishes. Albert nodded his head and gave Alex permission to marry Cerise. He also warned him to treat her well.
Tumblr media
Hearing the change in tone, Regina came back into the parlor. Albert announced that he had given permission for Alex and Cerise to wed.
Tumblr media
She welcomed Alex to the family.
Tumblr media
She excused herself back to the dining room where she hugged her only daughter and congratulated her.

♕ verse . Path to Nowhere / Bishop takes Quinn status: open to any Path to Nowhere muses or muses with Path to Nowhere verses, however must be specified for interactions since this is an AU that deviates from Eirene's canon timeline.
Eirene Campbell and the Chief of the MBCC died in the WhiteSands under gunfire from desert bandits, on a mission gone terribly wrong. The Chief had been keen on bringing the Sinner to visit her father in Fraser City, however they never reached their destination and the sandcruiser they were on was viciously attacked, resulting in a series of casualties - including Eirene and the Chief.
Or so everyone believed.
While it was true that the Chief had perished during that exploit, Eirene had planned the trap from the beginning - by hiring bandits and orchestrating everything, the woman was not hindered by the restrictions of the shackles by not actively harming the person at the end of them... And becoming truly free once the Chief died.
With the help of councilman Enoch, a new identity, past and occupation were forged for Eirene - she was reborn as Regina Fairfield, an ambitious Syndican woman who had been behind Bishop - a venture capital firm which, little by little, acquired several hypercube mining rights from local gangster and thugs, luring many desperate and daring souls into the hypercube mines with the promise of great rewards. By doing so, Eirene (or rather, Regina) was actively tampering and getting a cut of the extremely valuable hypercube business, responsible for Syndicate's former glory.
The work was done with the support of Eastside councilmen - particularly Enoch. However, Regina had all the personality traits from her previous identity and promptly hired assassins to quietly dispose of evidence in Eastside relating to that plan, effectively erasing documental links between her past with Quinn and present with Bishop. Considering that Bishop did not interfere with most of the gangs' business and did not fight for additional turf or cared about the trade of mania weapons and other typical Syndicate businesses, they generally did not draw much attention.
And that was precisely the goal - attract enough people to the mines, build enough control over the hypercube industry and then one day go back to DisCity, forcing the local politicians to approve new bills of law which allowed private enterprises to work with the transportation and other hypercube-related business, a moment where Eirene Campbell would be reborn as a public figure of unimaginable success.
A bold, daring and high-reward gambit pulled by the greatest chess master of them all - and one which would require a worthy opponent across the board to see through the carefully crafted façade and lies to prevent a checkmate.

Regina ‘live-watches’ Last Man: Zenmou no Sousakan S01E04.
This time, a man collapses -- apparent victim of a bee sting -- but examining the sting reveals something more sinister.
The preview for this one looked exciting and so far it's delivering.
I'm a simp for Fukuyama Masaharu so seeing his hair flopping on his forehead so attractively while he's running really does things for my good humor.
As is the way with a lot of J-dramas, we get more humor at the beginning, before dramatic events kick in. It's fun seeing Godo being teased by Izumi. It's less fun understanding that it's tit-for-tat on romantic relationships. Izumi has a thing for Agatsuma and he's been jealous about her since the first episode, which revealed that there was some pre-existing admiration on her part for Minami.
So Izumi being called on that by his uncle Shintaro and then giving as good as he got by asking when Godo will get married demonstrates the familial relatioship in an efficient way, but it also, in my opinion, points out that Godo doesn't seem interested in pursuing relationships at this particular point in time.
It's all very heteronormative! And a bit frustrating. I mean, if this show wanted to go the yaoi way, it's laying ground very well, but if not, I find the 'so why haven't you gotten married, why aren't you in a relationship, etc.' just a bit annoying.
The concept for the crime committed here is truly clever, as is the method of delivering poison. I'm impressed.
I love that this one is focusing on Agatsuma.  Of course, personal experience will tend to bias.
That's tv justice for you. That dude deserved being lied to by the police.
I noticed that! (The perpetrator printed off a piece of important information rather quickly.) Ah, finally, a clue based on something normal that can be overlooked, but is suspiciously off by a small amount.
Oh no, Agatsuma has been been poisoned. (She recovers, yay!)
This is the first time I've ever seen a police baton used in action on a police procedural from Japan, to the best of my recollection. Cool.
Vigilante action is bad when it turns you into a murderer could be the takeaway from this episode, but what I am enjoying about this show is that it does present its concepts in a way that allows the viewer to make their own judgments and also examine what their own principles might be in response to them.
Ah, my heart. A profile on Minami's work in the FBI inspired Agatsuma to send him a letter, and he remembered her.
This wins over Izumi, who had been told that by his father that he needed to monitor his uncle's relationship with Minami. Hilarious and wonderful. I gather that one of the goals of the show is having each of the team in opposition to Minami's involvement earn respect of him.
This is my favorite episode so far. Excellent in addressing a problem that exists in Japan's law, excellent for the character interactions, and excellent in delivering a message that provokes thought.
(This episode has its flaws, of course, one of which was leaning a bit hard on Minami's development of other senses to help solve the case. Sometimes it's fair, other times it tips into not being believable, but I'm a firm believer in handwaving away quibbles like that. They're doing a good job over all, I think.)
