After experiencing dot painting on a rock at Otis last week, Nika wanted to be able to do it at home. So we went to an art supply store and we picked acrylic paints together. We used a sponge brush to paint the rock. We don't have dot painting pens so we used the round end of our paint brushes to make the dots. We had some rocks, but our little 18 months old wants to throw everything now so I thought that we can also use a super light weight paper clay (from Daiso Japan for $1.50) to make some ornaments for the holiday season. I made my own drill pens for diamond painting with polymer clay. I've never used polymer clay before & it took some trial & error to bring these to completion. There's about a dozen that are still tacky from mod podge & at worst could take 3 weeks to finish curing. But these bad girls are ready to go! (I did realize while posting that I didn't yet sand the two darkest ones. ) Working with polymer clay is very fun & therapeutic. I'm excited to try other items. I also did a couple cover minders (just need to buy magnets) & pendants. I'm going to attempt to sell my drill pens & completed diamond paintings to help cover the cost of the hobby. Since it's novice work I'll be charging at least half n prob more than half of what they typically go for. What do you think of my work?
