The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recaps: 2020 Draft Recap
Gentlemen,
Welcome to a new year. Although this year may look different and come with plenty of unknowns, I’m looking forward to venturing into the chaos with you all. As we begin our fifth year, we’ve seen three champions in our first four seasons. We’ve seen plenty of chirping, gamesmanship, and some excuses but it’s been a great four years thus far and I’m excited about our newest season. With that being said let’s get into this year’s draft recap and to assist I used RotoTrade.com’s draft analysis to be unbiased in final analysis.
Draft Order:
The Perfect Ten
Hank Mardukas
11-4-1 PVO
Kalabar’s Revenge
Viking Quest
Team Timshel
Debbie Rowe
Virg. Gardening Minmaxers
Mr. Magorium
Wilmore Cinderella
Fire Jarn
Tua Days
The Perfect Ten
Our two-time champion started off the draft in the first overall spot. Ian normally prefers to be at the back of the draft to double up but this time he had the benefit of getting the first overall pick and the back-to-back picks starting at the end of the 2nd round. With his first pick, Ian took the easy number one in CMC, arguably the best player in the 2019 season. In Ian’s position (and those like him towards the beginning and end) he had to look out into the distance and make some moves on who may not be available at his next turn. With that, he picked up Mahomes with his second pick at the end of the second round. E’s team is riddled with players who may not have the splashy seasons all the time but could step up into some interesting roles.
Tumblr media
E’s draft grade from RotoTrade.com:

Hank Mardukas
Scott was number two and had the easy pick of picking whomever Ian didn’t pick. In this case, it was Saquon who fell to Scott and the second pick. Saquon was again a top pick this year and hoping to bounce back after an injury plagued season last year. Like the bookends of the draft, Scott found himself with double picks and went with his two starting WRs in Godwin and Thielen. Scott made some interesting picks and continued to sure up his WRs in picking the intriguing Hollywood Brown after taking his QB in Dak. Scott eventually took a chance on the resurgence of Gronk, hoping he returns to his old self with his reunion with Tom in Tampa. It was good to see Scott at an inperson draft for potentially the first time in history.

11-4-1 PVO
Dylan was nice enough to host us at his house for this years draft but for Dylan, some times home field advantage isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Dylan had his whole set up ready, or as he called it, his War Room. After continuing the trend of getting the best available at the top of the board, Dylan took Zeke (although I’m not too sure he was crazy about it). From there he continued into the skill positions by taking two of the highest paid NFL players in Julio and Kittle. A few picks late came controversy. If you drafted live and weren’t in the room where it happens (a little Hamilton pun for ya there), Dylan had a snafu. Here’s the scene: Dylan is on the clock and talking about he can’t take AJ Green. Just on principle. He starts clicking frantically and, next thing you know, he’s taking AJ Green. Weird, right? Dylan claims he was clicking Jordan Howard. He’s adamant. As a commissioner to the people, we poll the in-house participants and with our quorum we decide to pause the draft. With said quorum a vote is taken (I abstain) and the vote was to allow Dylan to re-pick. Is it a conspiracy and/or controversial? Yes. I won’t address it further and my story will match any other who was on site. Back to the normal draft: Dylan had a steal in the 11th round by taking John Matthew Stafford. Happy for him. Is this the year Dylan turns it around?

Kalabar’s Revenge
After our draft we FaceTimed G to figure out why he was auto-drafting. We were greeted with Katie Mae at her 23rd birthday celebration (insert Blink-182 joke here). To her surprise we weren’t made, just disappointed as G tends to bring some good fun to the draft. Towards the end of the draft, G made an appearance in the chat and summaried his draft in the following manner, “I might do well this year since I didn’t make any of the picks” or something like that. He may have had a point. When we finally got G on the phone he was pretty drunk. So much so that he exposed himselfto the crew. Katie wasn’t a fan of that (at least in that moment…). As you can imagine, auto-drafting just goes best available and that’s what G got. His first pick was Dalvin then followed up with a slew of WRs in Devante, Evans, and Ridley. His auto-draft path eventually selected both Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers. Two aging QBs who could still have a lot of upside to them. There is always a risk when auto-drafting but it may have just paid off for G. After the draft he was given his chance to provide his one season long Kurse of the season. I’ll give you one guess as to who it was.

G’s draft grade from RotoTrade.com:

Viking Quest
Have I mentioned how luck I am to be your Commish? It’s truly an honor. As for my draft, I was just happy to be there. Continuing the trend, I took the best available and went for Alvin Kamara. I know he’s in the middle of a contract dispute but I have no doubts he’ll be on the field and ready to roll for week one. The Saints are all in this year and I’m hoping their success will ride on his shoulders. My next pick was an interesting one. Too often I draft with my heart and not with my mind. Luckily on this one I was able to do both. Was Kelce the “best available” at that time? Not necessarily (he was in the mix) but why mess with a good thing? I’m happy for my guy after receiving his new contract and I know he’ll continue to produce as he always has. Surprisingly for me, this draft was very WR heavy, something I don’t normally do. However, you have to make do with what’s there at the value you’re taking it at and that’s what I tried to do. After Dylan picked Stafford before he could fall to me, I knew it was time to take a QB. Would I take Rodgers while he was still available? No. Absolutely not. In the words of Johnny Drama, the main character of Viking Quest, “it’s the principle”. I went with my heart and history. I am a Cam believer. Truth be told I listened to a podcast on Cam recently and again went with my heart. I believe in him and so should you. But hey, I’m just happy to be here.

Team Timshel
Our defending champ was back this year to defend his title in a very odd season. The champ wasted no time in mixing things up and throwing the whole draft for one participant (more on that later). Mike took his own path in the draft and opted to not take the best available being Michael Thomas but instead went with one of the hottest RBs at the end of last year: Derrick Henry. He then went another RB in the new Texan David Johnson followed by Amari, Ertz, and finally rounded out his fifth round by taking Russ Wilson at QB. Mike’s team has always been in contention and finally came to fruition last year and this year he is hoping to do the same. So much so that he’s bought in on the Titans having a successful year after taking three players Friday and now reportedly have signed Clowney. Mike’s hoping that success on the field can aid him in his quest to be our first repeat winner.

Mike’s draft grade from RotoTrade.com
Tumblr media
Debbie Rowe
The man looked up from his screen both confused and shocked. His whole plan had come crashing down. He would need to act fast or everything could fall apart. Sounds like a scene from a novel but this was real life for one Jake Taylor. As previously mentioned, Jake was shook after Mike picked Henry right before Jane. Jake had been doing research for days, all under the assumption he would have Henry there to take. It was so simple but then the moment came and it all came crashing down. Jake had to act fast and instead of picking Michael Thomas or even the next highest rated RB, he took a chance in the rookie: Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Jake then followed by taking Chris Carson, JuJu (USC Trojans, Fight On), his little Cooper Kupp, and his Bengal: Tyler Boyd. Jake then proceeded to take the player behind DraftJoshAllen.com in Josh Allen. Finally, he took one of the first kickers off the board: J-Tuck. Jake currently hates his team but sometimes that means we got the team we didn’t want but the team we actually needed the whole time.

Virg. Gardening MinMaxers
Al took an interesting strategy for this year’s draft and I believe he participated via his phone when he was plugged in. Al started his team off very WR heavy by taking Thomas after his brief slide and taking Hopkins in the second round. If you would have told Al that in 2018 he’d have both Le’Veon and Gurley on his team in 2020 he would have been stoked but both of these backs haven’t had the past years we and they would have hoped for, leaving some questions for the 2020 season. In between of picking three QBs (Kyler, Brady, and Burrow) Al was able to snag AJ Green after the 11-4-1 PVO debacle. Like all teams, our current Cabana Boy has a team full of question marks but with a lot of potential. Can he get it done this year or be our first repeat Cabana Boy?

Mr. Magorium
Gabe is officially back to Mr. Magorium after last year’s GM change. If you recall, G started off horrendously after the initial week one Kurse from Kalabar. After week one, the Kurses continued for weeks on end until finally Gabe turned his team over to Remus Lupin to help fight the spirits. It paid off for him as he had an incredible second half run. Gabe reentered with an interesting first pick. Gabe passed on some other RBs to select Cincy’s own Joe Mixon. I wonder if Gabe will change his name to Mixon it Up? Following that pick, Gabe focused on his skill players by taking another RB in Aaron Jones then following with three straight WRs including OBJ, Woods, and Diggs. Gabe was eventually forced to take Drew Brees as his QB, something he wasn’t thrilled about. As Gabe surveyed his final draft results we reached out to Kalabar to see who his official Kurse of the Year went to and unfortunately for Gabe it falls on him. Will we see the same impact we saw last year or has Gabe figured out how to reflect said Kurses? Only time will tell.

Gabe’s draft grade from RotoTrade.com:

Wilmore Cinderella
“Yuck” - E Birch. That’s how Ian categorized JP’s predicament after seeing who would be falling into that #10 spot. Unfortunately for JP he felt the same way. There wasn’t much optimism going into the draft for JP and ended up picking Josh Jacobs over a slew of other RBs with his first round pick. He then continued by taking more skill positions like Ekeler, AJ Brown, Lockett, and finally the new TB Buc Fournette before selecting the newly paid Deshaun Watson to be his QB for the year. With his last pick he selected Scotty Miller or as he likes to call him “the new Julian Edelman”. JP’s team is interesting because he appears to have some talent that, if given the opportunity on their respective teams, could turn into valuable contributors to his team’s success for the year. Only time will tell if JP and Wilmore Cinderella can join E as the only two-time champs.

I’m excited for Robbie to once again be in our league but I’m starting to get worried. Does he not care anymore? Should we be concerned? Should we look to replace him? Year after year we get an auto-draft and I’m just not sure if he wants to even be in the league. Rob, if you’re reading this it’s okay to opt out, we’ll still be your friends. For everyone else, if you’re reading this go ahead and drop a nice word to Robbie in the chat. He may need it. However, with Rob’s draft, the computer did him a lot of favors. The computer selected the popular Miles Sanders with his first pick and followed up by taking Tyreek A. Rob, Sutton, and Singletary to round out his skill players. The computer doing what the computer does took two QBs who seem to always be fighting off the injury bug: Wentz and Sloppy Roethelisberger. Finally, with their second to last pick Robbie’s computer team selected Matt Gay, a kicker who is recently unemployed. I really do want Robbie to have fun this year and find success but I’m just happy he’s our friend. Wouldn’t you agree?

Tua Days
Our final pick from round one and our first pick in round two had an interesting draft time as it coincided with the Heat game. Vinny’s official post-draft statement was: Did the Heat distract my draft process? Yes. Will it hinder my teams performance? ABSOLUTELY NOT. On my name sake My team will work twice as hard to grind every week except week 8. Speaking of the Heat, they choked in game four. Sad to see. Vinny started his draft by taking Chubb with his first pick followed up by his beloved Kenyan Drake. Vinny then took the second QB off the board by taking Lamar at the end of the third round. He then took his fellow Raven in TE Mark Andrews and then his very own Dolphin in Parker. I’m not sure if Vinny drifted back to auto-draft as he ended up with two defenses but if it was intentional I’m sure he has a reason that makes zero sense. Either way, we’ll find out this season if you should never draft distracted. Heat in five.

That is this year’s draft recap. Games start Thursday and I’m looking forward to getting some sort of normalcy back in our lives. As always, set your lineups accordingly.
Your beloved Commissioner,
Jared R. Mosqueda

Name: Janus Schrader
Age: 31
Gender: Transfem genderfluid, she/her any/all
Spirit: Deceit
Animal: Snake
Janus' body is covered in snake scales, however there is a fixed amount. If a new scale grows, an older one falls off. Because of this, the locations of the scaly patches will shift over time.
Janus often lies with no reasoning, but is too embarrassed to correct her words until another opportunity arises. She feels a compulsive need to embellish the truth, or claim that small scenarios she imagined actually happened.
She's a very good friend, and is always there if you need her. She'll talk shit with you, take you out for ice cream, she'll even go full Karen at your manager should they be a dick to you.
Janus has a thick southern accent. She's had many people refer to her as a southern belle.
She has fibromyalgia, epilepsy, ADHD, she's autistic, and she's blind in her right eye (the brown one).
She's married to Patton Liddell, and is dating Remus Mixon. She briefly had a relationship with Roman Mixon, but it has since ended.

Sides Parents
Tumblr media
Father: unknown
Mother: Kira Schrader (deceased)
Raised by grandmother, Linda Schrader
Janus unfortunately was conceived via rape. His mother was too poor to care for him, and gave custody to his grandmother (who he calls "Gran") when he was only a year old. He never saw her again.
Tumblr media
Father: Frank Liddell
Mother: Tonya Liddell (deceased)
Stepfather: Drew Liddell
Patton's mother, while very loving, was mentally unstable. She committed suicide when Patton was a child. Patton was confused when his father started seeing Drew, but he grew to love him.
Tumblr media
Father: King Terry Mixon
Mother: Queen Gina Mixon
Terry tries his best to be "hip with the kids". He fails miserably. Gina actually does understand gen z culture, and tries to teach him, which makes it a little more bearable.
Tumblr media
Father: Reginald "Ren" Redd (unknown for Xyler)
Mother: Ashley Redd
Thankfully, Logan's parents are divorced. Logan's father is a horrible person. He's queerphobic and abusive. He intentionally misgenders and deadnames Logan. Logan's mother is a loving and wonderful person. She always accepted that Logan is not Lauren.
Tumblr media
Father: King Kai Moriarty
Mother: Queen Karen Moriarty
Older sister: Princess Veronica Moriarty
Virgil's parents, while very loving and very much loved, don't understand that Virgil is no longer a child. They try to protect him from things like swearing, sex, and even things that used to scare him that he now loves. For example, heavy music bands such as Avenged Sevenfold used to scare Virgil because they were loud, but now A7X is one of his favorite bands. Virgil also dislikes being treated like royalty, despite being a prince. Veronica, while liking more stereotypically "white girl" things, understands Virgil and hangs out with him regularly. Veronica will inherit the throne.

Goodbye, Logan.
Logan thinks Remus has a secret, and he does... Just not the one Logan thought.
I have no idea why I got motivation to write my favorite ship breaking up but here we are.
Pairing: intrulogical
Warnings: accusations of cheating, crying, breaking up, transphobia(NOT FROM REMUS DON'T WORRY), panic attack. Also Remus is missing one of his wings and has a prosthetic one
❤️Logan is a no-op transgender man❤️
Logan stood patiently in the moonlight on Mixon Manor's rooftop, pacing a bit as he waited for Remus. At this altitude, it snowed year-round... And it was beautiful. More beautiful than the snowy landscape where Logan lived. Logan hoped Remus called him up here for something romantic.
Suddenly, he heard the flapping of giant wings; one of which sounded mechanical. He looked up and smiled as he saw Remus preparing to land by him.
"Hi, honey!"
"Hey, Logan."
Logan stopped. Remus sounded... Unhappy. And he looked it too.
"Starlight, is everything okay?"
Remus sighed and he moved towards the wall, leaning on it and looking down at the trees. He vanished his wings with a *poof!*
"To be honest... No. That's why I told you to meet me here."
Logan was worried. Remus was always happy around Logan, not like... This.
"Well, what's going on?" Logan went and stood next to Remus, putting his hand on his shoulder.
Remus sighed. Tears started to form in his eyes. "Logan... I really don't want to do this to you, but this isn't working out."
Logan's heart dropped. "W-what do you mean, Remus?"
"I mean... This. Us. Our relationship."
Logan's eyes widened. He'd always dreaded this possibility... And now it was happening. Remus was...
"I'm sorry, Logan, but I'm leaving you."
"No, y-you... You can't..." Logan's eyes welled up with tears and he grabbed onto Remus. "Please, tell me that... That this is some sick prank, or a dare, or... Anything!"
Remus sighed as his own tears began to fall. "Look, Logan..." He turned, taking Logan's hands in his own. "I don't want to do this. I love you, Logan. But this... This just isn't working."
Logan looked up at him, distraught. "What, is there another guy? A girl? Someone else?"
"No, no, Firefly, I'd never."
"Then what-"
"Logan."
Logan stopped, tearfully looking into Remus' eyes.
"Logan, I'm leaving you because..." He sighed shakily. "Because of your father."
"My fa... Did he hurt you?!"
Remus turned back to the wall. "...Yeah. He did. He said I was... Corrupting you, playing into the 'Logan character'." He pulled up his sweater, revealing a horrible bruise on his ribs.
Logan was stunned. "No, he... I thought he... I thought he finally accepted me..."
"Firefly..." Remus turned, taking Logan's hands again. "Look, I love you. More than anything else in the world. I don't want to do this, but..." He gently placed his hand on Logan's cheek. "I have to."
Logan put his hand over Remus'. "Please, Remus, don't do this." He sobbed out, holding Remus' hand tighter as he finally let himself cry completely. He fell to his knees.
Remus knelt down and wrapped his arms around the smaller man, pulling him up onto his lap and gently rubbing his back.
"P... Please, Remus, I- I love you. I love you so much, y-you don't understand, I need you, I... I..."
"Shh, Firefly, shhh... I'm here, darling, I've got you."
"Please, Starlight... Please..." Logan sobbed into Remus' shoulder, leaving a wet spot on his sweater.
"Logan, I don't want to leave you. But... You know what Ren will do, especially after he's already hurt me."
Logan gripped him tighter. "I... I love you."
"I love you too, baby."
With that, the both of them stood up, wiping their eyes.
"I... I guess this is it, huh..."
Remus nodded solemnly.
"Remus, I-"
Logan was cut off by Remus scooping him up and kissing him deeply. Logan wrapped his arms around him and kissed back. He wished it would never end.
Then Remus pulled away.
He spread his wings. Logan took his hand.
He looked at Logan, tears streaming down his face.
"Goodbye, Logan."
And with that, he flew off, leaving Logan with his hand raised in farewell.
He'd never look at snow the same way again.

Mourning
It's Virgil's birthday, meaning everyone is happy and celebrating!
...almost everyone. Roman,on the other hand...
Pairings: Prinxiety, queerplatonic analogical
Warnings: talk of father death, crying, gender insecurity (how do I word that)
❤️Roman is transfem nonbinary and uses she/they/it/vaey, Virgil uses he/she/they❤️
"Happy birthday, Angel!"
"Thanks, Baby Blue." Virgil playfully punched Logan's arm, then relaxed back in his seat and admired the Christmas tree in front of them.
Virgil had just turned 29, and he was resting after the day. All his friends were drinking and he had sparkling grape juice.
He looked around at his friends, realizing his wife wasn't present. "Wait, where's Ro?"
Remus set down his drink. "Ten bucks I know whare she is."
Janus cocked his head. "Where?"
Patton spoke up from across the room. "Don't you remember what today is? The king..."
Everyone fell silent.
Today was Virgil's birthday, yes, but it was also the two year anniversary of the death of King Terry Mixon; the twins' father.
Remus sighed. "I'll go talk to her."
With that, he sank out.
---
Remus appeared at the edge of the manor's cemetery. He saw his father's memorial, causing a pain to strike through his chest.
He shook his head a bit, focusing on the goth girl standing in front of it. She was wearing a full black outfit and was holding her wide-brimmed hat in front of her, her head bowed in mourning.
Remus walked up to his sister.
"Roman?"
She slowly lifted her head, not turning around.
"Ro, are you okay..?"
Roman hesitated for a second. "Do you think Dad would have approved of me being trans?"
Remus was taken aback. Their father hadn't lived to see Roman come out as a woman.
"Well, I don't see why he wouldn't have."
Roman looked down at the grave, putting her hat back on and wiping her tears away, before clasping her hands at her chest. She was trying to hide it.
"I know, I just... I feel like... I'm disappointing him, somehow. Like he wouldn't want me to turn out like this." Roman moved her hands away from her chest and hugged herself instead.
Remus walked closer and wrapped his arm around Roman. "I think he'd be proud to have a daughter."
Roman was silent. Remus pulled her close and she laid her head on her brother's shoulder.
"...I miss him too, sis."

The Den Fantasy League Recap: Week 13
Fellas, Fellas, Fellas,
For some of us, we’ve made it. For some of us, you didn’t it. In the words of Boyz II Men: How did we come to the end of the road? Well, let me tell you.
Viking Quest v. Team Timshel
It was simple for me. Win and you’re in; at least, that’s what I was hoping. Thanksgiving was a test of my character as Mike’s Dak and Buff D Dip carved me like a turkey. After that, I found our Julio wasn’t playing so benched that bum Ryan in favor of Danny Dimes (no bueno). Despite not scoring a season-high for our league, Mike’s team was consistent across the board with only TWO players not reaching their projections. Mike was led by the aforementioned Dak and Buff D as well as Kennan and Gurley. My team did their best to put some points on the board with big games El Tractorcito, Juuls, and Alshon. I knew that as the night was winding down on SNF, I wasn’t going to win. But… I could still make the playoffs with a little help.
Tumblr media
VP v. Debbie Rowe
Speaking of help, it came down to Jake and Vinny determining my playoff hopes and dreams. Vinny, like me, needed to win but was dependent on me losing as I held the tie-breaker. Vinny’s week didn’t start off too hot as Brees and Koo had below-average games on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, on-side kicks don’t get you points. He did try to make up some ground with good games from DJ, Miles, and Steelers D but Vinny just couldn’t put up the numbers for a winning effort and found himself bounced. Jake, who has had a shaky couple weeks to end the season, still put up a respectable 97+ points this week. Jake was aided by big games from guys who are normally who play the supporting cast most weeks: Jack “O” Doyle, Saints D, and Butt-kicker. He was also aided by the resurgence of his little Cooper Kupp and the bounce-back of Deshaun. Can Jake’s stars return for the playoffs?
Tumblr media
Wilmore Cinderella v. Professor Remus Lupin
In a battle of busted basketball players, we saw JP and Gabe square off. Before we got to MNF, JP had a rough start to his TNF players. His normal WR combo of Brown and Thomas both had subpar games. From there, other than Carson and Myers, no one else put up much of an effort. If only he would have played James White… Gabe, like JP, didn’t really do too much this week knowing they made the playoffs. He was led by Woods and Snell and got enough from the Vikings combo of Cousins and Diggs to give him the win. Some interesting matchups meet these two teams.
Tumblr media
The Perfect Ten v. Kalabar’s Revenge
E, like me, just needed to win. That’s it. If he could just win, he would avoid his fate of Cabana Boy. We were worried that we’d see a repeat of last year when a previous champion fell all the way down to CB. E was taking on an opponent he knows well and G’s team played hard in their final game of the regular season. Led by his Bears (against my Lions), Mahomes, and Rams D, G’s squad did everything they could to secure a win. Unfortunately for E, only two of his players met their projections. Not what you want when you’re fighting for your playoff spot. E, who to his credit has produced well this season, put up one of his worst weeks when he needed it the most.
Tumblr media
Hank Mardukas v. Virg. Gardening Minmaxers
Luckily for E, he was bailed out by Mr. Scott Duncan Rowe. Al needed a lot this week but he could’ve helped himself out with a win. That’s really the only thing he could have had happened to avoid the ill-fated CB role. Al was led by two of his trade acquisitions in Singletary and Rodgers. Other than that, no one else on his team scored in double digits. After it was all said and done, winning 3 out of his last 5, Al couldn’t put up enough points to even give himself a chance. Scott, who secured his #2 seed this week, was led by Lamar, Devante, Gesicki, and Lutz but that’s not the story. The story is Al is officially Cabana Boy. Oh, and Scott’s bench>>>.
Tumblr media
Stick With Us PVO v. Mixon It Up You thought we forgot this matchup? Might as well have. We all knew what was going to happen. I’m going to say what we’re all thinking: Dylan owns Rob. I don’t know how we got here or what happened but Rob just hasn’t been able to beat Dylan. Rob, who has scored more than 70 ONCE in his last 7 games, came out flat again. Rob’s team was top-heavy this week with big games from Brady and his Bengals. The rest of his team? They averaged 2.49 points. TWO POINT FOUR NINE POINTS FOR SEVEN PLAYERS!!! THAT’S FACTORING IN ALVIN’S EIGHT POINTS! YIKES, ROB! Dylan only had three players surpass their projections in Badgley, Packers D, and Rubbie Anderson but it was enough to beat Rob again. Unfortunately for Dylan, he wasn’t playing Rob every week and now finds himself out of the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Whether it was on purpose or an accident, the trophy took a spill. E claims it was Ada but he may have been frustrated after a tough season. I’m not mad, just disappointed.

The Den Fantasy League Recap: Week 11
Gents,
We’re getting into the chaos that is playoffs, Cabana Boy, and the trade deadline. Let’s get to it.
El Commish v. Kalabar’s Revenge
One of the topics of conversations this week was the new waiver format of bidding. Well lucky for everyone, it turned out extremely poorly for me. I looked at my roster going into this past week thinking: I need a running back. I had the money, I needed the guy, so I pulled the trigger. My $45 payment ($45 because I knew Rob was going to bid $41; amateur) backfired to a measly 3.8 from one Brian Hill. Other than my two tight ends set and the ever-faithful Pats D, there was a lot left to be desired. My quad of current/former Falcons (Ryan, Tevin, Hill, and Julio) really let me down this week and were the deciding factor in G’s win. For G, he held onto hope going into MNF with a decent lead and good players still left to play. Leading up to MNF, he found success in Le’Veon (15.2), Gallup (14.8), Big Country (12.7), and Raiders D. Lucky for me, Mahomes and Sammy both underperformed in Mexico City but it was still enough to put his team over the edge.
Tumblr media
The Perfect Ten v. Wilmore Cinderella
In our matchup of league winners, we saw two 4-6 teams both looking to make up some ground in the playoff hunt and Cabana Boy race. JP left Sunday with a lead thanks to big games from Hyde (12.5), Thomas (17.4), Sutton (13.8), Cook (9.3), Rams D (10), and a massive game from Brown (25.7). People forget that Gabe gave him Hyde and Sutton, in addition to Carson. JP’s biggest question mark is always going to be Jameis. The dude who has 18 picks and 4 fumbles on the year is a wildcard week in and week out. Can JP find success while having Jameis at the helm? His other concern: JP is addicted to James White. Can’t quit him. Could this be another stumbling block as he tries to get back to his winning ways? Speaking of winning ways, E has found himself in the middle of the pack fighting for something. E’s problem appears to be that he leaves a lot of points on his bench week in and week out. Despite having big games from Kyler (26.7), Ingram (20.5), Ekeler (13.2), and Jets D (11), he still left big games from Calvin (20.3) and Marvin (15.9) on the pine pony. To E’s credit, could he have foreseen Tyreek’s injury? Or that OBJ would be tackled at the 1-yard line? Simply put, no. However, it has to be frustrating to look at bench numbers and think about what could have been.
Tumblr media
Hank Mardukas v. Stick With Us PVO
We have a new leader in the clubhouse. After Debbie Rowe choked, Scott is now our new projected #1 seed as we’re a couple of weeks away from the playoffs. Scott probably had some concern coming out of TNF when both Baker and Jarvis’s performances were overshadowed by the melee that ensued at the end of the game. For Dylan though, that was about it. No one else on his team scored more than 5.7 points EXCEPT Marlon Mack. Why is that such an issue? Dylan’s already banged up Colts got worse when Mack fractured his hand during his game on Sunday. This is a crucial loss at an important time for Dylan. Scott, who missed his projection by almost 17 points, was able to secure this victory well into Sunday afternoon. Led by his MVP candidate, Lamar (33.5), Scott was able to seal the victory. However, don’t let that big number overshadow that no one else other than Tyrell and Lutz met their projections for the week. Can Lamar keep up his success and lead Scott to the promised land? Only time will tell.
Tumblr media
Professor Remus Lupin v. Team Timshel
I didn’t envy Gabe’s position last night. Going into a Monday night up but playing against two players? Nightmare. That’s exactly what Gabe had after losing by less than a point. Gabe saw his week begin with a slow-start on TNF when Chubb and Conner put up a combine 10.8 after a projection of 27.1. He did, however, find a way to make up some ground as he moved on throughout the weekend. The newly acquired Diggs (18.1) made up for his trade partner’s (Conner) poor outing, Zeke had 17.3 BUT a costly fumble, and finally, the 49ers did everything they could to get Gabe the win (Jimmy G, 29.7, and D, 16). That early Zeke fumble most-definitely cost him the game. What didn’t help was Mike going into MNF with two key players: Melvin and Keenan. Mike was helped earlier in the week by his Ravens (Andrews and J-Tuck) and by Dak’s open hips. Unfortunately for Gabe, Mike’s success came all within 24 hours. It started on SNF where Todd Gurley racked up 17.3 points and finally, Melvin and Kennnan combined for 22.1 points to seal the victory. Gabe’s season has fallen to symmetry: after starting out 0-3 he surged back to a 5 game winning streak, only to have lost his last three. They say water finds its level but with Gabe sitting at a game under .500, does he have it in him to sneak out a couple of wins in the last two weeks of the season?
Tumblr media
Mixon It Up v. VP
Sometimes all it takes is a name change to get you back on track. Luckily for Rob, early signs are showing that this could be the case. Rob, who had lost his last four in a row, desperately needed a win after falling to .500 and obtained it by a very gross score of 67.7-65.6. However, as we all know: a win is a win. Rob had, once again, a below-average week. In fact, he only had two players in double figures and only one of those met their projections. Thank goodness who got Mixon. You never should look too far ahead but Rob takes on Mike next week and then meets his boogeyman in Dylan the week after. Vinny, on the other hand, was starting to show signs of life until he ran into an issue known as “lack-of-scoring” this week. Similarly to Rob, he only had three players in double figures but the rest of the starting cast gave him nothing. Vinny’s three RBs combined for a measly 10.7 points this week which is not what you want to see out of a valued position. Vinny, who has been historically a thorn in my side, faces off against yours truly as we’re both fighting for our playoff lives.
Tumblr media
Debbie Rowe v. Virg. Gardening Minmaxers
Was this a fluke? Was this a David v. Goliath moment? It may be too early to tell but the worst team in our league just wiped the floor with the best. How did we get here? Jane, who was a force to be reckoned with, had good games from CMC (19.1) and Saints D (17). From there, not a single other player reached double figures and only one surpassed their projections. Having both Jones and Lockett on bye would be enough to cripple a team but, for Jane, it was much worse than that. His rough start on Thursday flowed into an even worse 1pm hour for his beloved Texans. Deshaun, who was projected 20.5, ended with an embarrassing 4 points. Yup, 4. I, for one, didn’t imagine Jane losing again for the rest of the season, let alone to Al. So how did Al pull off the upset? Moments before the clock rang 1pm, a subtle trade was executed but its implications rippled throughout the whole league. Al’s two new players that were active combined for a simple 18.4 points but that’s not where the story is. Despite having 0 from DJ, Al was able to win off the success of two players: Josh Allen of DraftJoshAllen.com and DJ “Baby” Chark. Allen put up a cool 33.8 and DJ an impressive 22.4. So what are some man-alytics we can learn from this matchup? Jake is 1-3 when Deshaun is outscored. Does this challenge the notion that CMC is the backbone of his team?

The Den Fantasy League Recap: Week 8
Fellas,
There’s a lot of moving and shaking going on right now. With the NFL Trade Deadline today and Den teams moving up and down the ranks, there’s a lot to be excited about. It’s a simple one tonight.
Stick With Us PVO v. El Commish
Dylan got off to a big start on Thursday with a massive game from Bailey, sending his projection through the roof. The big question after a hot Thursday night start is always the same: can the rest of the squad continue the trend? For Dylan, somewhat yes. Dylan put up a respectable 96.1 points this week which could occasionally win you a game. Dylan was led by guys like Saquon (20.3), Mack (15), and Fournette (13.6) to go along with Bailey’s aforementioned 16. Unfortunately for Dylan my team kicked it into gear and exploded throughout Sunday afternoon. After being forced to start Danny Dimes himself, I was concerned I didn’t stand a chance against Dyl but my team (and Danny) stepped up. Danny (28.2), Julio (15), and Juuls (19.5) all had their best games of the season then you throw in 20 from the Pats D you have a pretty good outing. I feel like I’m forgetting someone. Am I? Oh yeah. That’s right. Tevin had a modest 35.8, scoring 3 of his 4 TDs in the first half alone. As I said, Dylan didn’t really even stand a chance with an explosion like that.
Tumblr media
Wilmore Cinderella v. Fire Jarn
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think it would be this early in the season but I think we’ve reached peak Rob. In Rob’s last two games, he’s averaging 53.9 points. Add in his last three (in which he snuck out a win against G) he’s averaging 65.2 points per game. That’s an implosion if I’ve ever seen one. The only bright spot (and the only player to reach double figures) was Aaron Rodgers who racked up 27.1 points. Everyone else was a dud. In fact, not a single other player hit their projection this week. Actually, that’s not true. Alvin Kamara who was projected zero (ya know, because he was inactive) hit his projection. As one of Rob’s biggest fans, this isn’t a good look for us. JP surged to his second-highest point total on the season and has quietly worked his way into a game under .500. Although he again picked the wrong QB and the week he finally doesn’t play a Chiefs WR he ends up scoring, JP found success in big games from Conner, Thomas, Stefon, and Lions D. Two teams that were trending in opposite directions seems to have pulled a Freaky Friday and are taking on different identities.
Tumblr media
Team Timshel v. Debbie Rowe
To sum this one up: Mike, thanks for showing up. Mike saw his record come back to 4-4 and really had a lackluster week. He did find good games from Tannehill, AP, and his kicker but other than that no other player reached their projections. The story of this matchup was Hurricane Jane. The force to be reckoned with came out like a bat out of hell this week and put up an impressive 171.7. The points came from all over but massive games from Deshaun (27.8), CMC (23.5), Aaron Jones (34.6), Kupp (28), and Mike Evans (31.8) gave him enough to beat every team this week. Can Jake keep up this production after a letdown last week? Frankly, I don’t see him losing again. Jake’s team is bred to win a championship and I may go ahead and lock that in right now.
Tumblr media
VP v. The Perfect Ten
DON’T LE THE KID GET HOT! Miami’s own stepped up this week and continued his momentum after taking down Jake last week. There was some concern early on for Vinny as he saw Miles Sanders putting up close to 20 on his bench but he persevered. His success can be contributed to guys like Hopkins (finally), Hooper, and Jags D. The real story is the return of Brees who put up a solid 24.9 in his return. Is Vinny’s winning streak a fluke or a second-half team surging? One team we can’t read right now is E. After getting over 100 points and the win last week, he came back down to earth with a disappointing 83.2. Obviously MVP candidate (some are saying) Matt Stafford had a great game and Latavius chipped in with 27.7 in the absence of Alvin but the rest of E’s team fell flat. With E, there’s always hope he can return to glory but is this the year he just doesn’t put it together? There’s still plenty of time before the playoff push but E’s team is searching for its identity.
Tumblr media
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Hank Mardukas
Has Kalabar lost his October-mojo? We’ve always feared taking on Kalabar in the month of October but he has lost his third straight and only won one of his four contests in the spookiest month of the year. People forget Kalabar was defeated multiple times. Speaking of Kalabar’s defeat, G and Scott’s game came down to the final whistle on MNF. G tried to make it a game with big games from Royce and Montgomery and gave it everything he had with JuJu (USC Trojans Fight On) and Mason on Monday night. JuJu (USC Trojans Fight On) fought to keep G’s week alive but came up just short. Scott has quietly worked his way into an impressive 6-2 start to his season and isn’t looking like the chump we’re all used to. Scott’s impressive week started on Thursday night with Dalvin getting 23.1 and Vikes D getting 13. He then continued on with good games from Engram and then a massive game from Golladay. Is Scott a serious contender? Is he destined to burn out? Do we live in a world where Scott could win our league? Only time will tell.
Tumblr media
Virg. Gardening Minmaxers v. Professor Remus Lupin
Oh, Al. How did you get here at 1-7? Currently, Al is sitting at the worst record in the league and this week didn’t offer much hope. Playing without two early draft picks (DJ and Thielen), Al struggled again this week. Mixon, DJ, Titans D, and Lambo all had good games but that’s about it. Cooks got concussed, Gore, Fitz, and Ertz did nothing, and even if played the guys on his bench he still comes up short. Al’s team is in a world of hurt and he needs to start making some moves of desperation to distance himself from the Cabana. Gabe, on the other hand, has excelled since the name change as he’s won his last five. Gabe went into this week without his star RB and was still able to snag the win with good games from Goff (Bengals stink), Carson, 49ers D (who Al called the 69ers Friday night), and Zane. Chubb did give him a scare with his two fumbles but was still able to get almost 10 points. The question everyone is asking though: is Gabe good? His last three wins have been against some of the league’s worst but sometimes that’s all you need to get some momentum. He’ll take on G this week which will be my game of the week.
Tumblr media
We’re starting to get into Cabana Boy realities as teams may begin to clinch their safety. Al obviously leads the way but there are still a few teams behind him that, if they slide, could be in danger.

Jared R. Mosqueda

The Den Fantasy League Recap: Week Four
Gents,
It’s easy to panic. It’s easy to look at your roster and think, “How did I get here?”. The Fantasy world is one that can keep you up at night and on pins and needles waiting for a player to do something. It can also bring hope. As we know, anything can happen on a Monday night. It’s a long season, boys, so buckle up and in the words of the great thespian Will Ferrel in the critically acclaimed film Old School: let’s get it on.
El Commish v. Hank Mardukas
Fantasy football is tough and, a lot of times, very much out of your control. Right now, I’m behind E 0.4 points for the highest points allowed this season. Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw for some teams; I am everyone’s Super Bowl. Scott continued that pace of high scoring against my team this week with a typical Scott week. Devante started his week off with a bang scoring 18 without a touchdown. Then the scoring continued. Scott only had two players not in double figures and was led by big games from Lamar (24.4), Golladay (18.7), and then that buffoon Lutz got 14 points on a Sunday night to seal my coffin. As for me, my team continued to show up. A lot of that is thanks to three players: Gallman (21.8), McCoy (14.9), and my beloved Pats D (23). Other than those three, no one else on my team met their projections. Frankly, I’m done with Matt Ryan. He’s a bum. Either way, Scott’s back in the winning column and I’m back to being a dumb loser.
Tumblr media
Debbie Rowe v. The Perfect Ten
Speaking of points allowed, E had a good week but still fell short of Jane’s squad. E, our two-time defending champ, is back to his sly ways: losing early and planning for a great comeback in the second half. E’s team does come with a lot of questions. E did have good performances from Prater, Texans D, and the GOAT, John Matthew Stafford. His highest performer this week was Ekeler but could this be his final point outburst of the season with the return of Gordon? Speaking of return, how much does E need Tyreek? Other than his week two outburst, OBJ has failed to reach double digits in any other game this season. Even in their blowout win this past week, OBJ was a letdown with only 2 points. Yes, 2. Where does E go from here? Jane, on the other hand, has no questions. You can tell by the looks of his roster that he’s not making any changes any time soon; and why should he? Right now, Jake’s sitting at 3-1 and had another commanding victory this week. Jake benefitted from the deep ball this week and a lot of high scoring games. His pass catchers (Evans, Kupp, and Ebron) all had great games, plus throw in the always productive McCaffrey, it was in the bag.
Tumblr media
Professor Remus Lupin v. Fire Jarn
The game everyone this week was watching. Gabe joined me on the recap last week and guaranteed a victory over Rob. What we didn’t know was that after some long debate and spirits flying around everywhere, Gabe would make a change that no one saw coming. After three long years, Gabe relinquished day-to-day operations from his team and handed the reigns over to Professor Lupin, an expert in the dark arts. It was a gamble that paid off. Lupin waved his wand and finally, Gabe’s team was brought back to life. Led by Goff, Carson, Woods, Seahawks D, and a MASSIVE game from Chubb (36.3) sealed his victory. Rubbie is starting to take his dive a little earlier this year but we all knew he couldn’t sustain his winning ways. Rob did put an impressive start on TNF, however, that may have led to his demise as Friday was the day that Gabe handed over control of his team. Rob continued to have a good week with guys like Kerryon, Godwin, and Bears D but his other players didn’t perform up to their normal standards. Kamara disappointed and Boyd (like the Bengals) fell flat on his face on MNF. These are two interesting teams that we need to keep an eye on.
Tumblr media
Stick With Us PVO v. Wilmore Cinderella
Imagine this: you wake up after a long night of not sleeping well and but still wake up early to go to the gym since some other fellas are joining. Sometimes you need a good morning workout. You’re done and about to go home and then JP, who scored half of your points this week, looks at you and says, “I can’t believe I have a better record than you.” I truly can’t believe it either, JP. Jarrod’s team, we can all agree, was embarrassing this week. Case got pulled with -0.5, Mecole ended up with -1.1, and only TWO players on his team met their projections (Conner, 18.5, and Washington D). He’s lucky Conner had himself a game against the Bungals on MNF to salvage any sense of respect. Dylan (who is second to last on PA this year), survived with another victory, breaking the cycle of a Dylan-win-Browns-lose rhythm. Despite having the third-lowest score of the week, he benefitted by playing our worst team this week. He was led by Fournette and his kicker. Really, that’s about it. No one else on his team met their projections and even Russ came back down to earth this week. He did leave a lot of points on his bench this week but we’ll see how Dylan’s team responds to the loss of his star RB and a key WR.
Tumblr media
VP v. Team Timshel
Vinny was our other successful guarantee this week. It was a bold move considering Mike had yet to lose a game this season. Vinny, surprisingly, delivered. Vinny was led by huge games from Brisket (22.5) and Williams (15.6). Plus he was supplemented with big games from guys like Alshon, Hooper, and Chargers D. Vinny’s past couple of weeks have been tricky ones as he has since lost his projected QB, RB, and his WR2 in the last few weeks. This week, he showed his team could respond and bounce back. Vinny may be the only one who believed in his team these past few weeks. Mike, who was our lowest in points allowed thus far, finally met his demise for his first loss of the year. Mike, similarly to Vinny, found himself needing to make some immediate moves to cover the loss of a big player. Melvin, who has since returned, was holding out to begin the season left Mike in a sticky situation. He found good games from Gurley, Sterling, and Panthers D this week but that’s about it. Can Gordon come in and compete right away or his value diminished from the success of Ekeler? Only time can tell for both of these teams.
Tumblr media
Virginia Kuppcakes v. Kalabar’s Revenge
We say anything can happen on a Monday night but sometimes that anything can mean losing which is exactly what happened to Al. With his loss, Al is now our only winless team heading into Week 5. His team has shown flashes of hope here and there but this week they fell flat on their face. Josh Allen faced a tough NE D (you’re welcome) and only two players on his team met their projections: DJ (13.9) and Titans D (thanks a lot). Going into MNF, Al was pitted against JuJu (USC Trojans, Fight On) to his Mixon. If Mixon could’ve reached his projection, he could have won. That’s how bad G played as well. Some (not me) are beginning to wonder if G should focus less on Kurses and more on his team. However, G was still able to be victorious despite all of the off-the-field distractions this week. G snuck by with three players meeting their projections this week: A-Rob (7.7), Andrews (9.1), and Greg the Leg (13). His defense, RB2 (get well soon Jamaal), and WR1 combined for 1.5 points this week. Not great! What G does have going for him this week is that the calendar page turned and now we’re in Spooky Season: October. We’ll see if G gets stronger by the week as we get closer to All Hallows’ Eve.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Championship and Season Recap
Fellas,
We’ve finally made it to the end of the road and what a season it has been. Throughout the season we were treated to the expected and unexpected, let’s get to it.
Championship: Team Timshel v. Wilmore Cinderella
As the season went on, these were two teams we couldn’t really get a read on, yet we found them in the championship game. For JP, the week started off in the worst way. Jameis reverted back to his old ways with a 4 INT game and he also had bad games from Carson, Sutton, and OJ that didn’t help his fight. He was able to bounce back with big games from Lindsay, Thomas, and Washington but it just wasn’t enough to slow down Mike’s massive week. Mike, who pulled off the upset last week against Jane, pulled together some big weeks at the right time. Despite Dak’s disappointing 11 points, Mike was able to finalize his championship run with great play from Gurley (16.8), Melvin (16.7), AJ (14.3) NYJ D (13), and a massive game from Andrews (21.3). The hard part was that JP had guys on the bench that could have secured the win but it looks like the clock struck midnight on Cinderella and Mike’s season ends in triumph.
2019 Season Recaps
Champion: Team Timshel
Mike’s season was always right in the middle of the road. As he has been quick to point out, Mike has never had a losing season in our league’s brief history. Despite sitting in the middle of the road, he was able to surge at the right time. Mike was chastised for his first-round pick in Gurley, someone who exploded in the championship game. He then selected Melvin who also went off in the big game. Mike’s early success could be attributed to Dak’s excellent season start and then supplemented by Tannehill’s resurgence. Mike’s team peaked at the right time and he was a great GM throughout the season. Best Pick: AJ Brown, 16th Round Worst Pick: AJ Green, 3rd Round
Wilmore Cinderella
Speaking of a resurgence, last year’s Cabana Boy started off the season on a low note. He went from serving drinks in a “tux” to drafting a 2nd place team. JP’s team, who started off 2-5, was looking like his championship two years ago was a fluke. He was able to make his comeback and secure a spot in the playoffs. JP’s first-round pick was able to set league records and basically carry his team. He was able to overcome his second-round pick in James Conner and ship him off to Gabe’s team and flip him for Carson who helped carry him into the championship game. Unfortunately, he was banged up in JP’s final game. JP’s comeback was a good one but just not enough. Best Pick: Michael Thomas, 1st Round Worst Pick: James Conner, 2nd Round // Cam Newton, 8th Round
Debbie Rowe
Would it be mean to put the Reggie Miller choke gif in? Jake, who set himself apart as one of the top two teams in the league early on, was a force to be reckoned with all season long. Led by his #1 pick in CMC, Jake saw his MVP-like season lead the team in their pursuit of a championship. It’s truly difficult to find a soft-spot on Jake’s team but they just fell apart in the semi-finals when Saints D and Jack Doyle couldn’t get it done on MNF. The team I couldn’t see losing lost. You hate to see it. Best Pick: Christian McCaffrey, 1st Round /// Deshaun Watson, 7th Round Worst Pick: Tarik Cohen, 6th Round
Mixon It Up
Classic Rob, am I right? Rob was able to make it into the quarterfinals despite one of the biggest cold streaks in league history. Rob hit five straight weeks of not surpassing 70 points, luckily getting a win in one of those weeks. (More on that in a bit) It’s hard to establish the alpha on Rob’s team this year. Brady came in hot but mellowed out to the point that Rob had a QB controversy with Rodgers. He was able to find some hope in his acquisition of Mixon but was let down by his first-round pick in Alvin. Best Pick: Kerryon Johnson, 2nd Round Worst Pick: Alvin Kamara, 1st Round
El Commish
I, for one, had zero confidence in my team and I was just happy to be in the playoffs. I’ll admit, my team was up and down all season and I barely snuck in. What I didn’t doubt was that my team could put up points. I was one of the leaders in points for and that didn’t always help translate into the win column. I’m grateful for my guys like Kelce, Juuls, and Henry but just couldn’t find a consistent lineup outside of those guys. I’m down with Falcons forever. FOREVER. Best Pick: Derrick Henry, 3rd Round Worst Pick: Matt Ryan, 7th Round
Hank Mardukas
Another team I thought couldn’t lose, lost. Scott’s team seemed like a team of destiny. Scott finished the regular season with three losses and had the potential league MVP in Lamar Jackson on his team. Add in Dalvin and the rookie Jacobs, Scott’s backfield was one of, if not the, best in the league. Scott’s team was so good had this bench was impeccable. Unfortunately for him, his team ran out of gas in the first round of the playoffs with a big loss to the 2nd place team. Best Pick: Lamar Jackson, 11th Round Worst Pick: Derrius Guice, 5th Round
Kalabar’s Revenge
The warlock himself. G’s team came under some controversy early with his Kurses of Gabe aka Mr. Magorium. Despite his ups and downs, he was able to weasel his way into the playoffs. G started off hot in week one with a big connection in Mahomes and Watkins, something that never repeated itself. Mahomes’s injury hurt him in the long run and he just never really found a good rhythm with anyone else in his lineup despite a few trades. Can G finally overcome his own Kurse of never winning it all next season? Best Pick: George Kittle, 4th Round Worst Pick: Le’Veon Bell, 1st Round
Professor Remus Lupin
Speaking of Kurses, Gabe relinquished control of his squad to Professor Lupin to fight the dark arts. After starting out 0-3, he quickly rattled off five straight, only to lose his next three. Gabe was able to finish out the season on two wins to secure his playoff spot. The turnaround and the fight against the Kurses got Gabe into the playoffs. Gabe’s team couldn’t ever really find an identity and he himself came to qualms with the Browns’ coaching staff and how they handled Gabe’s star player. Best Pick: Nick Chubb, 2nd Round Worst Pick: Robert Woods, 4th Round
VP
Oh, Vinny. A team that the league had little belief in knew he was a second-half team. Vinny was able to rattle off some big wins down the stretch but unfortunately, his team came up just short against Rob that would’ve helped propel him into the playoffs. Vinny found himself just outside the playoff race. Vinny won our trade and survived the Brees's absence but was not able to secure his spot in the playoffs. Best Pick: Austin Hooper, 9th Round Worst Pick: Antonio Brown, 2nd Round
Stick With Us PVO
Dylan’s team in an enigma. A team that started off hot at 3-1 quickly fell apart finishing the season 2-7 totaling 5-8. Like Vinny, Dylan needed just another win to secure his victory but fell just short. Dylan’s season hit a rough patch when the #1 overall pick and his star RB Saquon had some ankle troubles. Dylan couldn’t figure it out and, despite PVOs, found himself outside the playoffs once again. Best Pick: Russell Wilson, 12th Round Worst Pick: Saquon Barkley, 1st Round (the right pick, just bad luck)
The Perfect Ten
E found himself in a fight to avoid the Cabana Boy spot. His playoff chances were diminished as the season went on and found himself fighting to stay out of the bottom of the barrel. The two-time champ’s squad could never put it together. Ekeler played well despite Melvin coming back, Tyreek got hurt early but performed when he recovered, and Kyler provided a somewhat consistent starter at QB. His disappointment was clearly OBJ. E won when it mattered most and avoided a plummet like one of his fellow champs. Best Pick: Mark Ingram II, 3rd Round Worst Pick: OBJ, 2nd Round
Cabana Boy: Minmaxers
Well, look who we have here. Good ole Al Nesta did everything he could to avoid being Cabana Boy. When teams started to clinch their safety, it looked like Al being Cabana Boy was a guarantee. However, he continued to fight until the very end. Despite starting off 1-7, he was able to win 3 out of 4 but lost in the final week when it mattered most. Al will now take on the role of CB for the 2020 season. Best Pick: Frank Gore, 16th Round Worst Pick: Brandin Cooks, 4th Round (Cooper was there)
