Hoy nos desplazamos al Parque Natural de Humacao, se trata de una reserva biológica de casi 3200 acres de una antigua plantación de caña de azúcar que se han devuelto a la naturaleza en esta joya de reserva natural. Restos de antigua maquinaria y puentes, donde la naturaleza ha reconquistado su dominio, se encuentran por el camino aportando encanto al paseo. Los manglares y las palmeras dan sombra a las lagunas que sirven de refugio a miles de aves y peces; las tortugas y las iguanas también se ven fácilmente. Puedes simplemente pasear y disfrutar de la naturaleza fascinante del entorno caminando o puedes practicar kayak o remo en las plácidas aguas o alquilar una bicicleta. Durante buena parte del paseo se escucha el rugir del mar, que queda próximo, y así el paseo culmina en las hermosas playas de Humacao, que forman parte del Parque, y desde lo alto del ¨Morrillo¨, antigua torre vigía, podemos tener una vista espectacular del horizonte y de las islas y acantilados próximas a este parque. Another lagoon from the Natural Reserve of Humacao, Puerto Rico. This was part of the Sugar production facilities to drain the lagoon for the sugar cane fields from the 1930's.
