Some fun non-touristy things to do in Amsterdam?

go to ‘de negen straatjes’ (the nine streets) for nice thrift stores and just a nice walk through the city. more big shopping streets are Kalverstraat and Leidsestraat. in the Kalverstraat you also have a store called ‘van Wonderen Stroopwafels’ with very tasty looking stroopwafels. (probably a bit touristy since i’ve never walked in there but always looks nice from the outside lol)

go to Marie Heinekenplein for either food or just drinks (Barca or de Tulp are very nice).

Go to amsterdam North NDSM area for a totally different part of Amsterdam, it has much street art. you can take a free pond to the other site of the river from central station. you have very nice industrial like restaurants there with great food like De Ijver, Ijkantine, Pllek, Noorderlicht etc. and every first weekend of the month you have the ijhallen there, which is the biggest flea market of europe and it’s veryy nice and fun, esp with good weather. (on their website u can find the exact dates)

from tiktok i know you can go roller skating in a very aesthetically pleasing place called ‘roller dreams’, looks fun

Night life in amsterdam is also the best, even if you just wanna go out for drinks. Leidseplein is always full of life (also the streets surrounding it), or you can go to the Pijp for that (also at marie heinekenplein i mentioned earlier). Or Rembrandtplein

you should definitely go to the movies in Pathé Tuschinski, and then watch a movie that screens in the big hall. you should look it up, it’s a very pretty movie theater. (you will have dutch subtitles but if the movie is in english you will be fine and maybe learn some dutch on the way 👍🏼)

also a great place to eat is de Waag, at the Nieuwmarkt. it’s inside a 15th century building that used to be a city gate from the walls of amsterdam :D

oh and renting a bike is also a nice way to explore the city and to get to places faster

Amsterdam 🖤 У нас был смешной случай, когда на фб, френд из Лондона , порекомендовал ресторан. Столик надо было зарезервировать, если будут места - нам повезло. Мы зарезервировали и вечером пришли туда, шутя по дороге, что мы будем одни на весь ресторан. Представьте - так и вышло. Возможно не сезон))) Мы очень любим находить «свои» кафешки. Это @ndsm такое место- куда хочется прийти еще. Уютное, теплое. А вам решать слушать рекомендации или нет))) 🖤 Bar and restaurant IJver is NDSM’s latest (2019) add. There are two terraces, one outside, and one inside the warehouse. There are 34 beers on tap, so it’s great for drinks as well. Decoration is warm, modern and cozy.
