Freedom From Performance
Religion demands performance, perfection, and a blind obedience to rules. The love of God invites relationship and transforms by receiving acceptance. When we rest in the love of God poured out through Christ, we find ourselves free, empowered and embraced as beloved children.

This verse got me thinking and I do wonder if some preachers do understand the content or they just cherry pick what the want to tell their people from the bible. For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] Romans 11:29 (AMP) Is it deliberate or ignorance? Or is it language problem? #knowledgeoftruth #epignosis #restinchrist #Grace #eternalsalvation #soteria https://www.instagram.com/p/CWx4zJtgq7d/?utm_medium=tumblr

Be with Christ, brother Nabeel ✝ You have finished your race and you have kept the faith. Praying for his family and friends. Even now, Lord, use his ministry and work. Death does not have the final say, brethren. As the Word says, For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Cor 15:53-58 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. II Tim 4:7‭-‬8 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Ps 16:11 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. I Thes 4:13‭-‬18 --- #Repost from @theology2doxology #NabeelQureshi #Nabeel #restinpeace #rip #restinChrist #Christian #Church #Christians

God’s mercies are new every morning because each day only has enough mercy in it for that day. God appoints every day’s troubles. And God appoints every day’s mercies. In the life of his children, they are perfectly appointed. Jesus said, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34). Every day has its own trouble. Every day has its own mercies. Each is new every morning. But we often tend to despair when we think that we may have to bear tomorrow’s load on today’s resources. God wants us to know: We won’t. Today’s mercies are for today’s troubles. Tomorrow’s mercies are for tomorrow’s troubles. Sometimes we wonder if we will have the mercy to stand in terrible testing. Yes, we will. Peter says, “If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you” (1 Peter 4:14). When the reviling comes, the Spirit of glory comes. It happened for Stephen as he was being stoned. It will happen for you. When the Spirit and the glory are needed, they will come. The manna in the wilderness was given one day at a time. There was no storing up. That is the way we must depend on God’s mercy. You do not receive today the strength to bear tomorrow’s burdens. You are given mercies today for today’s troubles. Tomorrow the mercies will be new. “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9). Faith in Jesus has helped me to trust in Him even when things aren't going my way. The scripture says "those who put trust in him will never be disappointed." Maybe things didn't go as you expected, it didn't turn out as you like, but Jesus still has a way to get you out of all your troubles. He'll make a way where there is no way. What that means is that the new covenant, promised most explicitly in Jeremiah 31 and 32, was secured and sealed by the blood of Jesus. The new covenant comes true because Jesus died to establish it. And what does the new covenant secure for all who belong to Christ? Perseverance in faith to the end. Listen to Jeremiah 32:40, “I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.” The everlasting covenant — the new covenant — includes the unbreakable promise: “I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.” They may not. They will not. Christ sealed this covenant with his blood. He purchased your perseverance. If you are persevering in faith today, you owe it to the blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit, who is working in you to preserve your faith, honors the purchase of Jesus. God the Spirit works in us what God the Son obtained for us. The Father planned it. Jesus bought it. The Spirit applies it — all of them infallibly. God is totally committed to the eternal security of his blood-bought children. The form of this psalm is instructive. In Psalm 23:1–3 David refers to God as “he”: The Lord is my shepherd . . . he makes me lie down . . . he leads me . . . he restores my soul. Then in verses 4 and 5 David refers to God as “you”: I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me. You anoint my head with oil. Then in verse 6 he switches back to the third person: I shall dwell in the house of the Lord. The lesson I have learned from this form is that it is good not to talk very long about God without talking to God. Every Christian is at least an amateur theologian — that is, a person who tries to understand the character and ways of God, and then put that into words. If we aren’t little theologians, then we won’t ever say anything to each other about God, and we’ll be of very little real help to each other’s faith. But what I have learned from David in Psalm 23 and other psalms is that I should interweave my theology with prayer. I should frequently interrupt my talking about God by talking to God. Not far behind the theological sentence, “God is generous,” should come the prayerful sentence, “Thank you, God.” On the heels of, “God is glorious,” should come, “I adore your glory.” What I have come to see is that this is the way it must be if we are feeling God’s reality in our hearts as well as describing it with our heads. Matters Arisings : Former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, has expressed disappointment over President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to visit and condole with the people of the state over the burning of travellers by bandits. Last week, bandits opened fire on a commercial bus and watch the passengers burn to death. In an interview with BBC Hausa on Saturday, Bafarawa said Buhari had failed to address the growing insecurity and killings in Sokoto, Zamfara and Katsina states. He accused the President of not valuing the lives of the people that elected him. He said, "The way the lives of our people are being treated as worthless is the most disturbing thing. "See the lives lost just within the last four to five days. People were burnt in a vehicle after they were shot but President Muhammadu Buhari went to Lagos for a book launch. A book that is neither the Qur’an or the Bible. It is just a biography. We only depend on God for protection. It is only on God that we depend for his protection, not anybody. We are sad and disappointed with the way Buhari’s administration is treating our region. “I was a governor for eight years and I know the responsibilities placed on me. Whenever a governor or a president is sworn in, he swears with the Qur’an or the Bible that he will protect the lives and properties of the people. Nobody says that the people will be responsible for the protection of their lives and properties. “The leader who swore that he can do it by going to the people in their villages and houses and asked them to vote for him, must fulfil that promise. The saying that security is everybody’s business is true, but the onus rests with the leader, like President Muhammadu Buhari who swore with the Qur’an to protect their lives. “The poor is even ready to lay his life to protect the life and dignity of his fellows. But he was not protected to do it. #securelives #endbadgovernanceinnigeria🇳🇬 #erndbadleadership #stopthekillings https://www.instagram.com/calebzadokadiga/p/CXZhQIigyjG/?utm_medium=tumblr

PLATEAU KILLINGS: A remorseless attitude of the government.
PLATEAU KILLINGS: A remorseless attitude of the government.
The recent killing of 22 Fulanis in Jos has sparked a lot of controversies and condemnation from various quarters including JNI, CAN, Presidency and other individuals. It has generated a lot of heat so much so that it has become a one sided report. it is obvious the government and the press had decided on what they want people to hear. But while all these were going on, I made sure I follow the…
