Just a fun “what-if” random question I thought of.

How would you think different Starsha kids would react to seeing their parents in the past? In the time where the plot takes place? And how would past!Starsha react to their future!kid if they do find out?

Let’s just ignore the complications of time travelling right now. Shhhhhhhh.

Rani would definitely be confused at the way things used to work. Also, his dad’s a star- what???? Omg they do exist??

Also, he’s a terrible liar (like Sueño), so it won’t take very long for them to find out. And when they do, they’d be just as highly confused and flustered of how that’s even possible and the implications this makes.

(Does that mean Sueño is not returning back to his realm like they planned? Does that mean the king and queen were stopped? Does that mean they get married? Does that mean they-)

Btw, is anyone going to warn Rani that he would also need to watch his back from a certain madman?

The thing is, he loves doing almost everything he could get the hang of and he has talents in multiple areas. However, Rani brings himself down because he couldn’t bring himself to decide just one out of all his options and he thinks it’s so disorganised and such an irresponsible thing to do.

I have a feeling that as much as Nina wants to help and once they both find something they both enjoy, Rani would feel a little guilty that he’s not any closer to a decision even after all her effort. Poor guy thinks he’s a let-down to his parents and friends.

I guess what I’m trying to place is that he’s eventually going to learn that it’s completely okay to be passionate in many things (even small ones!) and you don’t have to sacrifice what you love by forcing yourself to stick with just one. :)

I like to think he’s around 15 years old when I draw him. But this silly goober has been curious ever since he could hold things. 💖

I feel like if I do that, I might give out some spoilers for the RFTS!plot. So I’ll save that for a later time.

But if you’re wondering what Sueño’s human form would be like, he has honey-brown hair with a blonde streak on the side as something left from his star form. (Similar to maybe Anna’s white streak?)

He would also be wearing clothing that allows him to move around really freely and maybe a scarf. He just loves the feeling of something flowing behind his back or covering his shoulders like some sort of blanket that he could fidget at times.

Sht, I realised that Pride Month is ending and I didn’t do anything for it. And I still can’t draw…

So umm.

My mind got curious on his design and the urge to draw him won over me. Whoops-

I like to think he does some wood carving for fun and he gifts around the wooden figurines he makes to people. But he doesn’t think that this hobby is anything “grand” and is nothing compared to his parents who are basically known as heroes, so he shrugs it off when people compliment on his talents.

Rani “longs” for answers to what exactly he wants to be and what he wishes to do. He’s sick of everyone telling him that it’s up to him to find out himself. Idk, maybe he finds wishing to the stars stupid because they don’t even give a definite answer back anyway.

I guess he’s a “see-it-to-believe-it” kind of guy?? I have nothing permanent for him yet. 🤷 I do know I want it related to the meaning of his name. (“Longing”)

Anyways, like I said before, his clothes and overall colour is inspired by the concept art below on the left. (Also because I heard orange symbolised ‘balance and harmony’ which fits how he has general knowledge in a variety of different stuff.)

Oh, and have the doodle on the right above between @annymation’s KOW!Evangeline and RFTS!Rani. He’s showing her a wooden bird he had made. Not his best work buuuuut, I bet Lin thinks otherwise.

Hi Flicker :D! I just finished watching a summary and analysis of the movie “Soul” and I have to share my existential crisis with you and how I think this could support Rani's character development :] (Warning: I'm going to ramble and a LOT).

So, I was watching the movie and I saw that 22's character is quite similar to Rani, not in personality but in what they mean, she is someone who believes she hasn't found her talent yet, what she wants to dedicate herself 100% to or as they say in the movie “her spark”, they feel lost and feel like they are letting someone down because of that, but they both deal with it in different ways, we also see Joel believing that “the spark” is the THING that defines you, your purpose, this maybe what Rani may think, but I imagine as she gets older she realizes that's not such a bad thing, in fact maybe it's a bit negative to get 100% rooted to your purpose, because some people think that with that their life will be better or something, when no, I think Rani will realize that the “purpose” or what she “wants to be totally dedicated to” is not really what she expects, it's more those moments where you just feel something that makes you grateful to be alive, like when she finished carving a wooden figure and liked the result, when she enjoyed doing an activity, or when she was just with friends or her family having a challenge. Because that's also what that “spark” is about, isn't it? They are activities that generate a feeling of happiness and are one more impulse that helps you to be grateful to be alive, it is not your life 100%, it is something that simply sweetens it a little more, but not having it does not mean that you are a nobody, but it means having more possibilities to enjoy different things in life. (Sorry if what I'm saying is obvious or doesn't make sense, I was looking for the message I wanted my wish Au to give and I ended up having an existential crisis, I hope you didn't get bored reading this).

You don’t need to find just one passion you need to be 100% dedicated to be happy and satisfied with life. These bursts of joy can all come from anything you enjoy doing such as hobbies or friends and family. Those are the little sparks scattered throughout your life!!

Rani just thinks that since his parents are these amazing figures he looks up to, that helped encourage people to have faith in pursuing their dreams, that he feels embarrassed of not having a definite one that he’s so sure of pursuing despite being their son. (Which is also why he doesn’t communicate this to them either.)

Please never apologise for sending me an ask. It always sends me over the moon to see y’all engaging with my story and AU. 🥺💖

In fact, you’re making me want to rewatch Soul again. Really good movie with a deep meaning, I like it ^^
